What guests think

Bent Tree Motel earns praise for clean, quiet rooms, friendly staff, easy parking, and a convenient location, though multiple reviews note dated decor and recurring bathroom issues such as weak shower pressure or low, worn shower heads.

We stayed here due to power being out and we needed somewhere to sleep that was cool. We didn't get there til midnight but we slept good. They had no hot water so that sucked. But we needed a place to lay our heads.

My buddy and I had a guided fishing trip Wed. morning at 7:00 on lake Tawakoni. We decided we would get a room close to the lake. We both got a good nights sleep and made it to the lake in plenty of time. The room was clean and quite---the only bad thing was their road is in really bad shape.

We arrived on the 7th of April for the solar eclipse. We stayed two nights. The young lady at the check in window was extremely friendly and welcoming. Very simple process. Ice machine is in the office area. The rooms are in a block of 8 units, 4 on each side. It was parking at the door. Great!!!! It is very simple, clean and comfortable beds. The bedding linens are very dated but clean. The unit is clean just very dated. The shower heads are in need of replacement. They provided small coffee maker (with coffee), small refrigerator, microwave, tv, table and two chairs and all the bathroom products. The employees were walking around and very visable, so felt very safe and comfortable in our surroundings. They offered several picnic tables. Again it is very plain but for what we needed it was fine. We had our lawn chairs and just sat outside to have our glass of wine in the evening. The motel is close to everything!!!! Would stay again if ever in that area.

Mystery stuff on bathroom wall was upsetting. Intake screen on wall was so dirty it made me uncomfortable. It’s a family hotel with little investment and probably just getting by. The area was pretty and felt safe. Room rate was high for the quality of accommodations.

The Bent Tree was located right where we needed to be, the front office staff were friendly and helpful. Our room definitely needed some maintenance. The sink faucet was loose on the sink, so when you would turn on the water, the entire faucet swiveled. The shower head was only about 5' high, and the diverter would not fully shut off the tub spout so you only got about half pressure. The rooms definitely need room-darking curtains as the plastic mini-blinds don't keep out much light. But with all that we slept very well, and would consider them again if in the area.

Overall our stay was great like usual when we stay at this place. The only issues I had this time which I have never had before was quite a few knats in the sink area and we had a lot of trouble getting into our room it was like the lock was messed up or something.

We rented the family suite. While it could do with some updating, the suite was incredibly spacious. It was clean and tidy, offering a nice living area for a good sized group to visit and catch up. There is a very handy kitchenette with a full size fridge along with two large bedrooms each with their own bathroom. The beds were very comfortable. Both bedrooms were very very very spacious. I am confident we will stay here again and again for family gatherings.

I noticed when signing the check-in card/agreement, there was a company name was on the customer line as opposed to my name. A point was made of asking if a morning invoice would be provided and the answer was yes. Returned key to front desk on check out and requested receipt which staff would not provide. Staff informed me since booking was thru hotels.com, they (hotels.com) would send receipt via email. Total misinformation, that's not the way it works. Requested a credit card charge receipt and was informed the receipt had been given at check-in. It had not. Attempted to reason with staff, they held firm and would not supply a receipt or invoice. This is not acceptable business practice.

Great staff, very accommodating! They even called me on my cell phone when they realized I had only used two towels to be sure I knew there were towels behind the bathroom door. After check out, I realized I had lost my wallet, and they let me come back and check the room to ensure it was not there. I highly recommend them!
