The pool and fitness center are repeatedly reported closed, ice and vending are limited to lower floors, and renovations or upgrades are still needed. Breakfast feedback is mixed, ranging from hot, tasty options to minimal, cold, or temporarily cancelled service. Expect a basic stay with friendly service and convenient location, but reduced amenities and noticeable wear.

Check in was quick and easy. Room was clean and bathroom items were stocked fine. Breakfast was good. All of the staff were friendly. We left an important item in the closet and the staff took care of it right away and called us to advise. Unfortunately we were very far away by then so they assisted in getting it taken care of to get it back to us. Many, many thanks for that! No ice/vending machines on upper floors. Only available down by the lobby. Very disappointed that the pool and fitness center were closed though. Apparently they both had been closed for quite some time. We were told multiple times that they would not be reopened for a very long time. We should've been made aware of that during the booking or received a discount because of that. Otherwise a good place to stay.

The room was gross, mold on the bathroom ceiling, gunk all over the bathroom floor, mildew on the shower basin. The room smelled like weed. The kitchen was closed, so no breakfast. They said they notified hotels.com but that didn’t happen. The gym and pool were also closed as well as the ice machines. They also closed off the dining area to people who wanted to bring in food so you had to eat in your room. Every time I went to the counter to get pre packed mini ice bags, the front desk was closed. When they were there, they were very unfriendly. Our queen size beds had king mattress protectors so the sheets fit awkwardly- every time we rolled over the sheets popped off. I have stayed here six times in the past two yrs but it has gotten worse and worse and I won’t do it again.

Staff is incredibly kind, and helpful. It's definitely gotten 10x better the past few years. They do have a $250 deposir for those who live within 50 miles of the hotel but aside from that, the hotel is wonderful. The pool and gym has been down for quite sometime but there's the marina and some nice food places up the street. .

I previously stayed at this property two years ago and the fitness center was not available and it was not available again this time. In addition, we were not able to do our laundry since we were there for 3 nights.

The property appears nice from the outside and staff members were very helpful. Inside, the hotel is tired. The bed was ok. Unfortunately, the carpet was VERY dirty to the extent that the bottoms of our footies and feet were black!!! The bathroom tile was reasonably clean but the corners throughout both rooms may not have been dusted/swept in months. Some of the painting e.g. around the 2nd floor elevator door sign may have been done by a kindergartner.

The lobby and breakfast areas were nice. Breakfast was just ok. Our room was quiet,but.. The floor was soaked from the AC unit and the carpet was filthy. Our mattress was shot, definitely needed to be replaced. I had such a backache in the morning. Pleather headboard was flaking and peeling apart. The whole room needed an update. Don't think I would stay again unless no other option nearby.

1. Cleanliness: After my shower in the morning, I walked back into the room in my bare feet and sat down on the bed and my feet were filthy, despite having *just* showered. 2. We were on the 1st floor and we could not shut the curtains. There were only sheers over the window itself and a bright spotlight just outside the room/window. I had to clip the curtains with a binder clip to block out the light AND so that no one could see in. I wanted to report these items to them on the way out, but there was not a soul to be found at the front desk. The room was comfortable aside from those things, but I'm not sure I'd go back.

There was a cockroach in the bathroom as soon as we got back to the room after our concert, the bed cover would not stay on the bed, so basically you were on a bare mattress all night with bunched up bed cover, it smelled very musty and damp, sadly it was not a great stay

We had a crappy stay because I kept hearing all night long like it was in the walls, running water or something with somebody’s running water. It just made it very difficult to sleep all night.

Room had water rings from previous guest on nightstand, and breakfast cereal in the corner. Tv supposedly had a lot (think it was 42) chanels but only about eight worked, and we had no info about which those were. When you went to a chanel it took several seconds to find out if it worked or if “no signal.” No news Chanel that we could find. Front desk had no info.

The good: Decent room. Everything worked and I was comfortable. Staff was competent and polite. The bad: Breakfast left a lot to be desired. Just skipped it the second morning of my stay. Could hear my neighbor upstairs every time he or she moved around the room. Missing ice maker and vending machine on my floor. Overall the just facility seemed a bit run down. Bottom line: Just an average hotel. There is a better option for a few more bucks next door.

We could easily hear the entire conversation of the people in the room next door to us. It was way too loud for us to be able to sleep fur sure, so we went to the front desk to ask about our options. We were told "Yeah, that happens here, we have thin walls. Most people just turn on the TV to drown out the noise of the other rooms." No understanding or wanting to help, and even acting so inconvenienced by our ask to switch rooms. We eventually called down to the front desk again asking if they could talk to the room next door and they did eventually do that. This was a different employee than the one we spoke with earlier. It did help and we just dealt with it the rest of the night. Do not book here if you want to risk the noise.

This hotel has such potential, the rooms are nicely equipped for seniors, though we had no place to hang our clothes. The pillows on the beds had a distict body-odor smell to them, making me think they don't launder the pillows, I question whether they change out the cases at the very least. I don't know what the people above me were doing, but they paced the length of their room like they had lead weights in their feet, and this went on until well after midnight, several times it sounded as though their bodies were dropping to the floor. I couldn't sleep until that activity stopped. Also, the doors outside the halls slam so loudly that you could feel it through the floors. Once all the activities stop, it's relatively quiet. We stayed on a Friday night, so that may have contributed to the people noise.

Totally shocked that the room darkening drapes do NOT extend to the center to cover the windows. We ended up modifying the drapes to clip them together to get more privacy and keep the light out yet in doing so that blocked off the a/c from blowing cooler air. Strongly suggest change the tracks to allow them to close together and just get some shorter drapes! Other significant issue is that we got room with two double beds and one was OK yet the other one was thinner and harder so I had to switch with my younger son as slept poorly. There was only one washer and dryer for the whole hotel and the ice machine was only on the 1st floor. Long and short is this hotel NEEDS some updating!! P.S. Did not care to use it yet looks like the pool area is closed?

Hotel staff at the front desk was rude, unprofessional and unhelpful . The rooms stink also. I tried talking to the manager about an issue i had in which she could not provide any answers to so I asked for the general manager’s number and she would not give it to me. She said she’d email me the gm’s email and I never received it. Low quality staff is a terrible way to earn someone’s business.

Staff were friendly and polite for me. But another reservation in my part got screwed up and neither hotel staff nor hotels.com was willing to help at 11pm. Since there is limited hotels in the area, the party had to drive to Pittsburgh for a room. I did not notice upon arrival, but the following morning the carpet was soaked from the AC unit. I needed travel directions upon checkout, the older gentleman at the front desk was extremely helpful with local routes.

I needed travel directions upon checkout, the older gentleman at the front desk was extremely helpful with local routes.

The room I reserved was not the room I got. I ordered a king suite due to what I needed for work and I received a smoke smelly double full room that it’s only reframing quality was the air conditioning worked. The vending machine is from the stone ages. The worst part of this experience is the parking. I am handicapped and my mom is wheel chair bounded; each night I came all spots were jam packed with buses that were parked on top of handicap accessible spots as well as cars that are also parked in handicapped without a plate or placard. I mentioned this to the staff and was dismissed rudely and one lady even had the audacity to say it wasn’t her problem. The price of the rooms at this place is not worth the rude staff, horrible parking, and getting random rooms you didn’t reserve. I will try my best to avoid this hotel in the future.

I was glad to have another option close to Franciscan University. And the room price, even after a discount at the other place, was better at Wingate. On a map it looked walkable, and in fact was -- if you don't mind going cross-country for a little bit. The staff was very friendly and helpful, and the room was clean and comfortable.

Basically an "average" hotel. It is near the University with a couple of restaurants near-by. Not really a walkable area (hilly, lack of sidewalks). It is usually inexpensive and we stay there without worry.

Property stated they had a pool and workout room! When we get there it’s closed for renovation. When this happens properties should be required to remove that they have a pool this was the only reason we stayed there. Then when we went down for breakfast and the breakfast was horrible then we turn to just get fruit instead and the bananas were all very brown not a little bit but a lot. And the oranges they had were all shriveled up! Yeah this was one of the worst experiences we have had.

I’d read a lot of reviews before booking and knew feedback was mixed, but we took a chance and stayed anyway. Unfortunately the poor reviews weren’t wrong. The staff was friendly and helpful, and the bed was actually pretty comfy, but the overall state of the property was pretty bad. The hallways, elevator, and our room smelled of mold and mildew. Second and third floors were missing ice and vending. Lots of dirt and grime everywhere. When we checked in, the mirrors in our room were covered in a strange film making it hard to see through. Sheets and pillows seemed clean, but the carpets and floors were stained and had crumbs and dirt. Parking lot was overgrown with weeds. The pool and the fitness center were both closed with no sign of construction or repair in the works. And the day after we arrived, there was a sign up saying breakfast was temporarily closed, though it never re-opened during our 4-night stay. Then on our last night we found a small cockroach in our room. I generally try not to be too critical, but this stay was pretty disappointing. Next year we will likely shell out for a more expensive hotel!

From the outside it appeared to be pretty run down looking, and that should have been an indication of what the inside was like. My wife and daughter and I should have moved on somewhere else. The room was rough looking, carpet looked terrible, AC unit didn’t work, mold in the bathroom sheets had stains. There were drug users walking down the hallways all hours of the night. The unit right next to us had a couple in it that were having very loud sex and fighting. They were also smoking in the room and it was seeping through under the shared door. Screaming and yelling in the hallway. Management said they couldn’t move us. I stayed up all night watching the door gun in hand. in case the problem people came through our door. Would not recommend this hotel to anyone ever. Will not stay at Wyndham ever again!!
