This is the best! Small roadside motel that has been totally updated. No staff on site - key code is provided in email. 24 hr vending - well stocked. Small Cafe on the property serves breakfast and lunch from 7 am to 3 pm. Breakfast was fantastic! About 6 miles from Floyd, VA. Floyd is also a great little town! The Country Store has great sandwiches and a soda fountain and bluegrass music on Friday nights.

After a long drive on the Parkway, we were really looking forward to our stay and the eagerly-awaited dinner at the attached diner. There was no reception or staff on duty - a phone call told us the room and the code for entry. The room was clean and fine but the diner covers breakfast and lunch but NOT dinner. Breakfast was excellent and VERY necessary after our dinner of potato chips! Perfectly OK but approach with low expectations.

This place is actually quite the gem. The only knock I have is that you cannot check in until 4:00 pm but the staff departs about 3:00. So you do a self-check in. That is absolutely fine except we don’t know that until we arrive at 4:30 pm. You have to travel six miles to Floyd to find dinner as the Tuggle’s Gap diner closes after lunch. Also their sign says the store is open 24/7 which is not true. It closes at same as the cafe. Very nice rooms and they are clean! Great location very close to an entrance of the Blue Ridge Parkway. Give them a look!

The booking service lost one of my two reservations, even after confirming with them the day before. We finally did get a second room after being told there was only a room to accommodate one night. I don't understand the room rates. The double queen bed room was less than the single queen bed by about $50 for a two night stay. The double queen room I occupied: 1. The beds are too high especially for shorter people or folks who are chronologically challenged 2. We had no refrigerator but we did have a coffee maker 3. There was no chair, only a small stool 4. There was no bench or luggage rack, we had to put our suitcases on the bed. 5. No closet for hanging clothes but had about a half dozen hooks on the wall behind the door 6. The shower was enormous-shower only no tub-it had an integrated seat but there were not safety bars and the floor seemed very slick-need some non skid appliques. However, the room was pristine and we met some folks onsite doing some maintenance and cleaning and they were extremely nice. The diner was not open and there was no breakfast on site. I loved the close proximity to the Blue Ridge Parkway and the charm of the roadside inn with firepit, picnic tables and is pet friendly.

This place was perfect to rest before moving on on our trip. The view to watch the sunset was wonderful. The place was clean and the bed was very comfortable. Definitely would stay here again. The only thing is I did not receive an email with the room information. I called the main number and she was very helpful with sending me the information I needed to check in.
