The Memphian, a Tribute Portfolio Hotel

What guests think

The Memphian, a Tribute Portfolio Hotel draws praise for its eclectic design, attractive rooms, and convenient Midtown location near dining and nightlife, with many guests highlighting friendly service and enjoyable on-site bars and the Complicated Pilgrim restaurant.

Common downsides include noise from the rooftop or street affecting some rooms and mattresses that some found hard or uncomfortable. A few reviews mention maintenance or service lapses such as hot-water outages, unresponsive or rude interactions, and occasional cleanliness misses. Parking is generally gated and convenient, though it carries a fee and can be tight during busy periods or rooftop events. It’s in a great location. Wish they had a pool and fridge and microwave in the room. Rooftop view is great! The elevator girl that lets you up to tiger and peacock was not friendly which set the tone before we even arrived upstairs. Got upstairs and the table we were sat at was not clean. Had to ask staff to wipe it down. Drinks were average and def not a place for dinner. Small menu selection for food.. Server Khalil is the only other highlight about the place besides the rooftop. He was awesome!! Friendliest person i encountered there that night . The room walls were thin. The room was clean. Location great .

The hotel was very nice and clean. Our server at the restaurant (Complicated Pilgrim) was VERY nice and the food was DELICIOUS. The only (almost) issue was on Saturday evening we came back around 10 or 11pm and there was only ONE parking space left. I believe it may have been due to the roof top bar using hotel parking. We spoke to guests leaving at the same time as us and they said the rooftop bar was very nice. Unfortunately we missed it on this trip. I would definitely LOVE to come back to Memphis and book a stay here. The area was very cute with lots of restaurants in walking distance. Plus the location was super convenient to the airport and surrounding attractions.

A beautiful and spotless hotel! We checked in late (7/4–7/5), and the front desk lady was incredibly kind and patient. She explained everything clearly even though it was the middle of the night. The location is perfect for us, and parking is gated, easy, and safe. It was a peaceful and quiet stay after the bar time—highly recommend!

Let me start by saying this was my first trip ever to Memphis and I only googled five star hotels which is how I picked this location. And I could not be any less impressed, staff impeccable, very friendly, warm, courteous I've never been to a location where I did not need to ask for towels after day one we had enough towels that we had some we didn't even touch in the room, so I must say the accommodations for guest are beyond reproach. Great will return.!!!!

We loved our stay at the Memphian ! it's such a trendy and hospitable place. They thought of every detail and I especially loved the reusable water bottles and refill stations in the hallway. The restaurant was delicious especially their brunch. I highly recommend anyone stay here while visiting Memphis especially if you're visiting for the first time. Safe parking was a big priority and it was perfect. Thank you :)
