Crandon Inn & Suites

What guests think

Crandon Inn & Suites draws mixed reviews, with guests praising spacious, comfortable rooms and quiet surroundings, but citing recurring issues like a long-closed pool and hot tub, sporadically closed bar, limited staffing, and broken amenities that reduce reliability.

Many travelers found rooms clean, large, and good value, with comfortable beds and some suite-style layouts. However, multiple reviews report maintenance lapses, occasional hot-water and key issues, and uneven housekeeping or cleanliness. Breakfast feedback is mixed, ranging from plentiful to cold or unavailable, and communication about amenity closures is often lacking. Expect comfortable space in a quiet area, but verify amenities and staffing before booking.

It was a business trip. Overall it was good. Hot breakfast option were limited - only eggs. Thought there may be bacon, biscuits etc - it was the norm at other similar type hotel. The pool was closed for repairs - per front desk TWO years. That's silly - owner should get someone and get it fixed.

The pool was out of order. The vending machine was out of order as was the ice machine. The room was nice, clean and the bed was comfortable, but it appears as though there are things that need to be repaired. It could be coincidence. Other than that the facility was fine.

Good place to stay for our Club Volleyball weekend. The room was clean and spacious for the Sweet we stayed in. They need to take down all their pool pictures. The pool hasn’t been in service for years and we booked it looking forward to swimming in our free time.

Its the only real option in the area. The rooms are a good size and clean, breakfast isnt great. The pool has been out of action for a long time. We stayed here last year and it was closed then as well. They shouldn't advertise as having a pool.

I have stayed here a few times and the pool has been “in need of maintenance” for 3 years. Key cards don’t work on the exterior doors. If the hotel is close to capacity they run out of hot water. One ice machine was working on the second floor.. first floor ice machine was “broke”. The rooms have been updated and are spacious, clean, and plenty of furniture for relaxing. Breakfast is good and free but only available for a few hours. Staff was nice but management needs to repair the pool, hot water, ice machine and exterior locks.

Two queen beds, both bed sheets had urine stains, one far worse than the other, except the other had a hairball on the sheets also. When I went to the front desk to get something to sleep on, no one was at the desk, or even in the hotel according to the sign, and room keys for three more guests who had not yet arrived were on the front counter. Looking back, I should have taken those keys to find a room with a bed without stains. I returned to my room and used the sheets from the pull-out bed which were clean and towels to sleep on. Next time I will travel the 35 minutes to find other otpions.

Room was very large and spacious. Also up to date room and amenities. Lots of TV channels. Pool was being worked on and closed, but that was OK with us. Breakfast was hot eggs, sausage, waffles and other standard cold items, all good. Only noticeable things in the room; they had done some wall work in the bathroom which was un-painted, toilet seat was loose (I tightened it) and there were 2 bath light bulbs burned out. So, not real complaints. Parking was good, all around cleanliness was very good. Room temp was easily controlled by a thermostat. Easy to get to 2nd floor with quiet elevator. Ice machine was on 2nd floor, don't know if there was one on the 1st floor. Big lobby doors for unloading stuff from the car and sturdy carts for luggage hauling. Ample parking. Will return to this motel again. Happy customer.

Booked this hotel mainly because it has a pool for my daughter, even though it was about 40 minutes from our destination. Pool was broken, which was extremely frustrating, as it was an advertised amenity. Looks like it was down for a long time, as it was drained. Had to go in the hallway to get wifi signal. Tv worked poorly. Continental breakfast was very small and they were out of coffee.

I was pleasantly surprised to get an upgrade just for asking. There weren’t many guests as the area doesn’t have snow to support the usual seasonal snowmobile tourists. When we went for breakfast the staff quickly offered to take our order if anything was running low. They had a bar, office essentials and our room had a space to host guests. Pool and hot tub were under repair.

I stayed in room 221. I couldn’t make coffee in the morning because the coffee maker was missing the basket that holds the coffee filter… The shower needs maintenance! Shower head is pulled away from the enclosure. The handle to control water temperature and pressure really needs maintenance! There are two options, off or on and extremely hot! This is not my first stay. Something is always in need of repair. The cleaning staff does a great job! Management needs improvement!

The rooms are generous in size and kept-up well. The free breakfast in the morning was diverse and very adequate. The hotel was quiet. The bathroom had plenty of good towels, and I appreciate a sink and shower that worked well. There was also a very large list of cable channels, maybe the most of hotels I've stayed at in the past. The hotel also had relatively reasonable rates. The room also included a small refrigerator, iron and ironing board, and coffee station that was customarily stocked. All around a very good hotel, maybe the best, in the area.' They do offer special deals for AAA and perhaps other memberships. Check with them while booking.

It was good though upon checking in (I called to say I’d be late) our card was on counter with room key. It was wrapped in paper with our name but I’ve never had that before! There is a a sign in elevator that says if you want housekeeping to put the sign on the door. We opted not to have house keeping clean up so we didn’t put the sign out, yet while we were trying to nap staff came into our room.

Booked online, got to a desk with key cards scattered all over it and a phone number, called the phone number, couldn’t understand the lady on the line and eventually just took a random key that had “2Q” and a room number written on it, left early in the morning before staff arrived and was never charged for the room. Cool that it was “free” but that was about it. I’d look into other alternatives in the area.

The hotel itself was decent. We had a large room with attempts of upgrades. A couple hole patch jobs in the room that weren\'t quite finished. Parking was good. We had a group of us staying so that was nice for all of us to stay together. The pool was closed, we didn\'t know that until we got there, bummer. Probably had the worst breakfast I have ever had at any hotel. Cold eggs, basically all the condiments were empty, no other "hot" item offered. The waffles were okay, that also ran empty. We ended up going elsewhere to eat in the morning.
