The location is what makes this hotel fantastic, you cannot beat being right in the center of the action. However, the hotel lacked atmosphere, where others in the city had a bar or rooftop, this location shut down after 9pm. There was no coffee or tea service in the room, we struggled to get constant hot water and the room was cramped (could not open closet door because of bedside table). The staff were very helpful (Maria) and the rooms were very clean.

El hotel es precioso, estilo colonial. La atención es excelente y todo el equipo es muy amable y servicial. Las habitaciones están muy correctas y el aseo dispone de jabones y elementos ecológicos de excelente calidad. La cocina también es increíble ¡hay que probar uno de sus exquisitos desayunos/almuerzos! Aunque no tienen parking en el mismo hotel si llamas al mismo cuando estás llegando, te esperan en la calle y te recogen el coche para llevarlo a su parking (a mitad de precio del que esta a pocas cuadras del hotel). I did not want to share this but the problem was never resolved. We found cockroaches in our room, twice. The room we booked was not what was given to us and they said that in the description it mentioned that the room you see when booking is not guaranteed. And i understand that but our biggest concern was that there were roaches in our room around our clothes and I’m not okay with that.

The hotel is lovely. It’s located at El Centro and everything is close by. The front desk was always helpful. The rooms were clean. We stayed a couple of nights and we had a pleasant time. The church bells ring in the morning. But the noise is tolerable. We look forward to going back to this hotel.

El lugar es bonito, la ubicación es excelente, pero ha sido mi peor experiencia en un hotel con respecto al calor, los cuartos no están para nada acondicionados a las temperaturas, y no solo eso, si no que no te avisan con tiempo de esta situación, nos hospedamos varias personas las mismas fechas y todos pasamos las peores noches, sin poder dormir por el calor sofocante, la última noche nos pusieron un ventilador de agua, pero definitivamente no fue suficiente, en conclusión no vale el costo ni la ubicación por pasar noches sin dormir de la desesperación del calor. muy mal que no tengan la cortesía de avisar esta situación a sus huéspedes.

Not all rooms have air conditioning, only a ceiling fan.We were there in early May, before the real heat begins. The rooms can get really hot even at this time of the year. When we asked at the reception desk, the young man at the counter blatantly lied and said that NON of the rooms had A/C! We were ready check out and go somewhere else but the lady at the reception desk in charge of the morning shift (sorry, we didn't get her name), she was super nice, she had one of the staff members show us a different room that a portable A/C (because of the age and style/cultural history of the buildings, they can't have any external air conditioning units). We were able to switch rooms and what a difference that made. The location of the hotel is magnificent, you walk outside the the door and you are only sreps away from one of the main churches and plaza, where at night you can enjoy the Mariachi bands playing and singing, or enjoying an ice cream from one of the many vendors around the plaza, plus plenty of cafes, restaurants and bars. We most definitely be back to San Miguel De Allende. P.S. this is grown up town, not many activities for kids (but hey, maybe that's just my thinking).

Very nice boutique hotel right off the main square next to the Parroquia. No real negatives or surprises. This was our first time in SMA. We were in the back of the hotel so noise was not a problem. We could hear the bells from the church however I think that would be the case anywhere in the Zona Central, maybe a little louder since we were right next door. The room was a little smaller than I expected but updated and clean. Housekeeping was very good and responsive to our requests. The food at restaurant in the lobby was very good but, obviously, with so many other options within a short walk, we only ate there a couple of times for convenience. Don’t plan on sleeping in though. There seemed to be a lot of loud closing of doors starting around 7. Overall, would definitely stay there again.

Perfect location, close to everything. Felt super safe at night. It is a little loud at nights in the area, but my husband and I are use to sleeping with a fan on as white noise so that wasn’t a problem at all for us. Bed was very comfortable. We felt at home, very cozy!

It is a tale of two hotels. First we stayed in a wonderful and charming room with AC in the front hotel and loved it (10/10). Then we stayed in a charmless ACless room in the built out back hotel which had inconsistent hot water and because we had to have the windows open we heard all the noise and smelt cigarette smoke from the courtyard (5/10). The restaurant made great breakfasts and the staff and nice (10/10).

I got the basic room, and they meant basic. A bed, 2 night stands with no reading lamps, and not even a chair. No fridge, no coffee maker and the onsite restaurant was… okay. We stayed in room 4. Room has no windows, can be stuffy after returning from being out and about. Upon arrival we would leave door open and use fan to ventilate room. Room can be dark. Bathroom is tiny, not for anyone that has mobility issues. Great water pressure in shower. No refrigerator, no microwave. Beautiful hotel, excellent location, surprisingly quiet! Close to the church, bars, restaurants in town.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Carmina. Staff was very friendly and attentive. On sight restaurant had excellent food and drinks, great atmosphere, and friendly staff. Hotel is the perfect location for all things San Miguel. It is right by the square, church, shopping, restaurants, and more. Such great character in the rooms, 21 foot tall ceilings, comfortable king bed, and more. Would definitely stay here again and recommend highly.

I stayed at the Hotel Carmina on New Year’s Eve for four days I think. This was a very busy time for them but they still had time to tend to my needs. I got food poisoning not sure where, but the house keeper assigned to my room was excellent and even came to see if I needed more water. My experience there was fantastic. The rooms are huge. There is a lovely restaurant in the hotel. And it is only a few feet from the heart of the city, the Parroquia and the Jardin. I would definitely return.

Beds were comfortable, place was cleaned daily and it was central to all. But if you plan on getting sleep, then I suggest staying elsewhere. The first morning we were awakened at 6:15 am by a high pitched screeching sound that sounded like pipes that went on for 12 minutes - we timed it. Around 7:30 am the restaurant staff came in and began playing music very loudly and slamming chairs and dishes about. We shared the recording of the pipe noise with the front desk and learned other guests had complained. However, we were awaked the next two days of our stay with the same noise in the early hours and the restaurant noise continued to be an issue. Despite our feedback on numerous occassions, the hotel didn't offer any compensation or even a complimentary breakfast at the restaurant that was disturbing our peace during our four night stay. There are many beautiful, historic and affordable places in SMA that would be a far better stay than here.

Hotel is located in a great location. Restaurant on site has great food and surrounding area is great and walkable. The bed was not comfortable and the hotel did not have extra fans. Tbe ceiling fan is nit enough to keep cool.

The stay was very nice. Service from staff was always friendly and they were willing to help with questions. The room was cleaned everyday. The restaurant within the hotel(although not part of the hotel) was very good. And the location couldn’t be better. I would definitely recommend staying at this property without any hesitation.

This small hotel is very nice and the staff actually cares that you are well taken care of. Great location near the Centro. The restaurant is good and the room was clean with nice amenities. You will not always have a hot shower but this is Mexico so get over it.
