Costa Mesa Inn - Newport Beach Area

Hotel was very clean location was great for going to the beach or doing anything near Huntington and Newport. Pub being Nextdoor was nice. Overall great stay no complaints.

I’ve stayed here many times and I must say the remodel of the rooms was awesome, the bathroom was great. I stayed here about 2 years ago and the place was pretty bad. Glad to see the place has been totally renovated.

We had a great stay! The location was very convenient, and the room was super clean, comfortable, and looked brand new. The staff was friendly and welcoming, and the price was excellent for such a nice room. We were also impressed by how HUGE the TV was! 😂 Definitely a great value for the price. We would absolutely stay here again and highly recommend it!

Clean rooms, liked the no carpet flooring, the rooms smell like Pee though.

Newly-renovated rooms was the price of admission for me. Many other places locally in this price category have filthy and dated properties, often littered with broken building locks, rude staff and transient-types crowding the hallways. The Costa Mesa Inn was an oasis, comparatively. Check-in was easy. The desk staff was pleasant and helpful. What's great about the CMI is its walkability to so many restaurants, grocery stores, the OC Fairgrounds and OCC. The room was very nice - everything was new inside. The bed was comfortable and the AC worked well (new unit). They're still renovating, so expect the outside property to continue looking dirty and old, as well as the pool not working. The only real negative was housekeeping. They were rude, bossy, and insisted on speaking Spanish. I was not allowed in the room when she was cleaning, and said I needed to go to the lobby for a half hour. After she cleaned it once, I told her I no longer wanted service. The next day, after I left my room, she insisted on cleaning it anyway, and did a half-ass job. That prompted me to request at the front desk that she no longer clean my room. Housekeeping also left their carts in places in the hallway that would make it hard to get around them. They would gossip loudly in a room - sometimes eating there - and left their large bins blocking staircases. Once the housekeeping issue was addressed, the rest of my stay was very pleasant.
