What guests think

Across recent reviews, Best Value Inn is praised for newly renovated, clean rooms, friendly ownership, and a convenient location near IU Memorial Stadium, while feedback also notes basic furnishings and occasional housekeeping or cleanliness problems.

Rooms are small, with limited storage; some lacked bedside lamps or a fridge or microwave, and bed comfort varied. Amenities are minimal, there is no on site breakfast, and the exterior and parking areas look worn or are under renovation. The location is walkable to campus events but traffic and sirens can be noisy, and prices can spike on busy IU weekends. Good for short, no-frills stays.

A nice little Hotel at the outskirts of a city. Bus connections nearby. Everything was clean. A Kroger supermarket was not too far away (walkable distance). Of course the hotel does not offer any kind of breakfast/dining and no other amenities than bathroom&bed, but it is nice there.

There are no do not disturb signs for the doors . There isn’t an option to not have them come in your room for housekeeping if you are not in your room. We went to breakfast and came back to find them in our room .

This property is located within walking distance to Memorial Stadium. The rooms have been completely renovated. No amenities, but very clean. The beds are small (full-size), but adequate. Only one problem. We were a group of three couples, and everyone paid a different price for their room. Guess that's all supply/demand related, but it didn't make me feel great - especially since I paid about $100 more per night than another member of our party.

Although the exterior & lobby appears old and rundown, they put money into renovating the guest rooms. Everything was very clean and new! Very friendly checkin staff. Best price in town for HomeComing weekend at IU and I would definitely stay there again for a weekend.

The facility was undergoing a complete remodeling and when I got there, the roof was being replaced. Inside the rooms, it had recently been repainted and all the fixtures replaced with new ones. So, it was still quite busy while I had my stay, but the staff was willing to provide help when needed. Note that the location was at a very busy location with lots of traffic. Interestingly, it was quieter during the night than I thought it might be. There was a pancake house next door, within a couple hundred feet, that you could walk to.

Worst experience of my life. Our bed sheets and pillowcases were full of black stains and to make it worse as I was eating a ROACH crawled across the counter to join me. I spoke to the man behind the counter telling him I need to get my family out of here and he couldn’t even refund me my money. Needles to say we left that night and drove home. ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE

My experience was terrible. Staff at front desk was unfriendly and unwelcoming. The worst was the room cleaning less. The bedding had fresh blood stains and hairs. The bathroom walls with buggers on the walls. And I paid $240 for one night. I would NOT recommend staying here.

The location is very convenient for visitors to IU and the rooms are nicely renovated. However, bring your ear plugs. Very noisy location between 2 major highways and next to a very busy, noisy car wash. Also, the advertisement stated "free breakfast and refrigerator in every room". There is NO breakfast. There was NO refrigerator. I had to insist on getting one. I hardly got any sleep the 1st night because my room had a broken A/C. I was moved to another room the next day. I think that for $285 /night I should've gotten some kind of compensation. The owner refused, even when the Expedia agent I complained to call them and asked for some compensation for me. I don’t recommend this hotel.

Customer service is great, and they are very friendly. I don't like how housekeeping knocks everyday if your not checking out. I understand cleaning if it's dirty, but I sweep everyday, clean toilet and sink and trash everyday. I think 2-3 days would be sufficient. Other than that awesome

First, let me say that the owner is one of the most genuine people I have ever met. He is upgrading an older hotel so don't expect to be in a Hilton Hotel. Our room was clean and newly remodeled. We were going to the University for a football game and it is easy walking distance. The only downfall is the traffic noise can be a bit loud but we only stayed one night and I would do it again.

I've been traveling my whole life and this is the first time that I stayed in a motel where the bathroom sink is not in the bathroom. The beds were uncomfortable, the only restaurant in walking distance is a really nice breakfast place but it's only open for breakfast, or a McDonald's. This is also the first place I've ever stayed in where there's no closet of any kind and there's nowhere in the bathroom or anywhere to hang a shirt or a jacket. I hung my shirt on the telescoping handle of my luggage. They provide the world's tiniest bars of soap and there's nowhere in the the shower to actually put the soap. This is a place that would be okay for construction crews where their bosses are are trying to save money. The morning coffee is actually better than expected. The family that runs the place is actually quite respectful and nice but this motel is only appropriate if you've run out of money.
