At Mansión Mérida Boutique Hotel - Restaurant, travelers consistently praise the lovingly restored historic mansion, standout personalized service led by the on-site owner, and a serene courtyard setting with spacious suites, lush decor, and a pleasant pool.
The location is central and very walkable, steps from the main square. Recurring drawbacks include some street noise in front-facing rooms and occasional maintenance or wear in certain rooms, with valet-only parking noted as less convenient. Breakfast is widely praised and the on-site restaurant is appreciated, though a few guests found prices high or an occasional dish uneven. Expect a character-filled, service-forward stay in the heart of Mérida.

Facilities
Courtyard pool and the on-site restaurant/bar are praised, creating a calm oasis inside a bustling area. Parking is via free valet, which a few found less convenient.

Stay here! Trust me. The rooms are amazing, very elegantly decorated and styled. Tall ceilings (helps keep things cool). Turn down service. The breakfasts at the hotel are amazing - authentic Mexican. And included in the room price. There is a nice pool but we never used it. The courtyard area is gorgeous. The location is one block from the main square! All kinds of restaurants. The buzz of the city is great. On top of all that the hospitality from the staff, and especially Sr Raul (the owner and grandson of the original builder) is second to none. Such a warm and personalable guy, great staff. Perfection!

Amazing service 10/10. Staff was so attentive to detail and great value for what you get, valet parking, breakfast, and service. Everything can be done on the WhatsApp chat. Excellent poolside service. I even left my iPad on a table it was turned it in. Owner came by and said hello. Breakfast was amazing - no buffet, you order off the menu. Location is excellent and central. Juan, Gener, the entire reception staff were great. We were celebrating our anniversary and the staff arranged a magnificent welcome in our room plus a surprise gift upon leaving. All the personalized notes made our occasion unforgettable. We will definitely be back and maybe with friends.

Really cute and quaint. Staff was super friendly and helpful, made us feel welcome. There’s no easy parking around, but the valet service was good.

This hotel is elegant, historic, and very convenient for walking around Merida. The staff is outstanding. Ivan, who works in reception, is very attentive and helpful. Benjamin, Nelson and Gemer were very attentive for breakfast each morning. This hotel is unlike any other and the rooms are large, comfortable and many amenities are provided. The pool area is very nice and in a private area. The breakfast room is in the courtyard and is surrounded with beautiful plants and lovely fountain is in the center. We have stayed at this hotel at least four times and it never disappoints. Also, staff will park your car in a private secure lot somewhere in the downtown area. It takes about ten minutes to get your car when you are needing it. The restaurant has a very nice menu and service is outstanding. The outside eating area is a great place to relax and watch the people strolling through Parque Hidalgo. If you want to be pampered, the Mansion is a wonderful place to stay.

We visited in mid-August & were greeted by the gracious, helpful owner & staff. We found gorgeous rooms & decor, delicious & substantial breakfast (including a full take-away breakfast when we had to leave pre-service hours for a tour), a convenient location near Merida Central Plaza, a wonderful, clean pool, lovely amenities, & an adjacent restaurant for additional meals & beverages. We'll create an opportunity to return!

Beautiful property, everything was very clean. Service was great. Very friendly people. It's close to everything but the downside is that means lots of traffic. Only thing that was a bit inconvenient was the parking if you have a rental. You can't self park but they have free valet service. You just have to make sure you don't forget anything in your car. Other than that, it was a great stay.

Breakfast is available each morning in the gorgeous courtyard and was delicious. There’s a second courtyard with a beautiful pool. The staff go out if their way to make your stay perfect.

Some of the rooms….108…in particular, needs to be thoroughly cleaned and renovated. The lamp shades are dirty and falling apart and the linens need to be replaced with new ones, as well as the dingy robes. The hotel is lovely generally speaking and the service and food were great. Ann O. Mahan.

Let me tell you, this hotel & everything about it is absolutely wonderful! From the first encounter with the staff we were very impressed. My sister & I arrived in a rental car. Not sure where to go she entered into the restaurant/bar area & the staff was more than happy to help us with our car & our luggage even though that was not their "job". After grabbing our bags, they graciously showed us how to enter & where to check in. The property is so beautiful & the greeting by the desk staff was incredible & welcoming. We felt at home right away. They brought us a refreshing welcome drink: were so kind & fun to meet. Our beautiful room was impeccably clean, stately, & it smelled fantastic. There were fresh arrangements everywhere & beautiful fruit in our room. Beds very comfy too! I cannot begin to tell you that this is one of the most beautiful buildings I have stayed in & the service was one of the best I have ever experienced. I travel a lot all over & this hotel is a true gem. The breakfast which was included was delicious and large. The food in the restaurant is just fantastic. We didn\'t feel the need to go anywhere else as this was one of the best menus I have ever seen. Everything was first class yummy & amazing. The margaritas are also the best. The owner who is so kind & genuine greeted & talked with us each day that we stayed. He truly is interested in his guests. I have found a "home" in Merida for life. I will return here every time I visit. Highly recommend!!!

This hotel is supposed to be remodeled, but still give you the feel of the age of these buildings. Unfortunately, we had been given a room that had hardly been clean. The status of the bathroom was absolutely disgusting and no one had even cleaned out the minibar in six months things were expired since October and we stayed in feb. The only positive thing about this hotel was the breakfast which you can stay in any other nice hotel and then come here for the breakfast. An absolute embarrassment that they are charging US$400 per night. With leftover pubic hair in the bathroom. I’ve stayed all over the world in extremely nice hotels, and this is definitely the worst value of my money.

It couldn’t get better than this. This hotel reflects Merida’s essence at its best. From the elegant courtyard where you can enjoy breakfast, to the suites that’s decorated to perfection. Staying at Mansion Merida was quite an experience. We stayed in room 202, the most majestic corner suite, full of art, good taste, spacious, impecable, and elegant. The Courtyard restaurant truly captures the essence of Mexican cuisine. The food is a true explosion of flavors, made with fresh ingredients, the atmosphere is vibrant elegant, with live music in the morning for breakfast and at night, the service is warm, knowledgeable and friendly. We recommend everyone to stay at Mansion Merida, conveniently located in Downtown Merida, walking distance to the main attractions.

A beautiful old building with lovely historic furniture and ornaments. The front courtyard where breakfast is served is very special. Most of the guest rooms are facing on the road, which is one of the busier streets in the centre of Merida.

This stunning boutique hotel in the heart of the historic center of Merida was formerly a private mansion. The 14 guest rooms are centered around an open courtyard with a fountain and restaurant. The guest rooms are spacious luxurious. The staff are very friendly and the owner is on the premises daily. The location is ideal being within minutes walking distance to historic sights, restaurants and markets. We would definitely recommend, our stay was incredible!

The place is unique , well kept property ,a historic place . In the heart of the city, what lacks in modern features , it complements with the beauty of the place . The owner calls everyone by their name , takes the time to ask if all is well . Being so close to historic downtown , has its plus and minus, walkable distance to most places , might a bit noisy at night , Still , I Highly recommend this gem

I'd stay here over and over again! If you are ever in Mérida stay at the Mansion Mérida! You too will be writing a great review! So grateful to all the staff for their excellent service! They even surprised with a picture of us in the hotel with a gracious hand written note!

I recently had the pleasure of staying at Mansion Merida, the hotel is beautiful, and the customer is outstanding. Our room was very spacious with a comfortable bed and an AC that worked great! The bathroom had good quality toiletries as well as a mosquito repellent spray. We were greeted with drinks and a fruit basket in our room. The owner came to say hi one day while we were having breakfast which it was a nice personal touch.

This is a lovely historical mansion to stay at. We had Suite no 107 with a back door leading out to the pool which we used frequently late afternoons. A beautiful respite from the heat and a very beautiful and private part of the mansion. Our suite was beautifully furnished, with a large bathroom and large rainfall shower head. It could use a reno though as it is looking tired. The courtyard area with the beautiful fountain is where we had a high quality, fresh made to order breakfasts every morning and you can have it till 12:00 so no lunch needed! Delicious! Disappointed with our our only meal we had on our first night- ordered octopus and it was rubbery and tasteless. The prices are exorbitant for seafood etc on this menu; however, the apps were within reason. Service was very good on the whole. Would we go back? Probably not at $580.00 a night incl taxes Canadian. We were a bit shocked at the 100$ a night for taxes etc. It is a gem of a place though- traditional Mecican meets French design and we are glad we spent time there!

Staying at the Mansion Merida was wonderful in all respects. It was like staying in a warm cocoon in Merida. The staff were friendly, helpful and attentive. Everyone knew our name on day one and treated us like family, not merely guests. Our room was also very lovely.

As my former profession in the hospitality industry I am mindful of the challenges in providing a service that exceeds customer expectations. In our 4 day stay at the property the staff went above and beyond to ensure our stay was memorable. From the greeting received on arrival by “Hector” to the fabulous services provided by Alberto, Juan, Cindy (food and beverage) & all other staff interactions with Ivan , Enrique and many more the professionalism and attention to detail was very much appreciated. The food and beverages were first class and kudos to the chef & kitchen staff 👏. Your food preparation and presentation were excellent. It was a pleasure to meet the boutique hotel owner Raul Caseras who checked with us daily to ensure our stay was of an excellent standard. After having travelled extensively in North America and Europe it was a true pleasure to experience the 1st class service that we received. I would not hesitate to recommend this property and encourage visitors to truly enjoy a 1st class property with 1st class service.

The owner, Raul, takes the hospitality shown to each guest very personally, and both he and his staff made us feel less like guests and more like family. I don't believe we've had a better experience at any property. I give this 5 stars because six is not available.

Really great experience here! The little details like personal notes, a framed photo, and a visit from the owner during breakfast were really nice. They also accommodated me when I wanted to set up a note and champagne for my girlfriend. Only thing was that our room said it had a hot tub but did not. But we got over that really quick. Beautiful place!

If you’re looking for a very unique stay in Mérida stay here. It is an old mansion turned into a hotel with only 16 rooms. The property is still owned by the original family. Every employee we ran into was so nice and attentive. Ivan checked us in and we felt like royalty. Raul is the owner and is very present and visits with all the guest to make sure their stay is going great. The location is amazing and walking distance to everything you would need or want. The beds were super comfortable and we slept great every night. Thank you guys for a great experience!

An Unforgettable Stay in Mérida This hotel is truly in a league of its own. From the moment you step inside, you’re transported into a magical world that awakens all the senses — even the beautiful signature fragrance in the air sets the tone. The historic mansion is filled with character and curated with extraordinary attention to detail, from the stunning art and objects to the gorgeous coffee-table books throughout. The interior landscape design is breathtaking — lush and serene — creating a true oasis within the property. Raoul, the owner, welcomed us warmly and made sure everything was perfectly tailored to our liking. Ivan was an exceptional host, offering thoughtful recommendations that led to some of our most memorable experiences. A heartfelt thank-you as well to the entire staff, whose kindness and professionalism made our stay feel incredibly personal. More than a hotel stay, this was an experience — and we can’t wait to return!

Stay here! Perfection!

Mansion Merida is like stepping into a slice of historic Mexico. The home is perfectly situated in the Centro, within walking distance to many restaurants and attractions. The owner, Raul, whose grandfather built the historic home, was very welcoming and kind. The dining, housekeeping, and reception staff were all very helpful and professional. We will definitely look to stay here again on a future visit.

This property is unique. If you are looking for a cookie cutter experience, look elsewhere. It is impossible to describe -- you feel like you are living in someone's home. The owner greets you at breakfast, the staff bends over backwards to take care of you. It is a very gracious, charming experience and the property is beautiful. At every corner is another piece of artwork. It is old world and classic and just a little quirky. Fantastic! Also, it is right in the center of the historic downtown.

Mansion Merida is a beautiful hotel in the central part of Merida. I can't say enough good things about the staff. Everyone was so kind and helpful, especially Ivan. It is a step back in time with a beautiful inner courtyard--a calm, cool oasis in the center of a vibrant city. Easy to walk to the cathedral and Paseo de Montejo, also easy to use as a base to explore Ixmal, cenotes, Progresso's beaches. Perfect!

Dining
Breakfast is widely praised for quality, variety, and the courtyard setting; early takeaway boxes are available for tours. The on-site restaurant is popular, though a few guests found prices high or an occasional dish underwhelming.

My wife and i stayed here for three nights, and it was like a dream. The hotel itself is gorgeous and located just a block from Merida's main plaza on its own little picturesque square. Service was excellent; everyone made us feel at home. I must also mention breakfast in the courtyard - one of the best dining experiences we had in a city that takes great (and well-deserved) pride in its cuisine. The huevos mansión may be the best variation of eggs benedict I've ever had.

This lovely old hotel has both a gracious staff and classical Mexican accommodations. The furnishings highlight old world charm and exquisite taste. There is wonderful artwork throughout the property, and the rooms are large, the beds are comfortable, the rooms are beautifully appointed, and the staff took excellent care of us. Breakfast was so delicious and filling that we couldn’t eat again until dinner. One of the nicest hotels we’ve ever stayed in.

What a beautiful property. We were on our honeymoon and enjoyed this hotel very much. The food is pricey, but absolutely delicious. The only small comment I have is that it would be nice if there were little coffee, pots or espresso machines in the guestrooms for those that arrives early before breakfast service is available.

I can't wait to return!

Staying at this property was wonderful. From the moment I arrived and received a very warm welcome at reception, to the equally warm thank you I received while leaving, all of the staff were very welcoming and helpful, and there was always someone around and available if I had any questions about local services. The breakfasts were varied and delicious, even the buffet style breakfasts served on the weekends, and the waitstaff was gracious. Cleaning of the rooms and maintenance of the grounds seemed to be intuitive, aware when I left the room and done before I could return and almost invisible otherwise--even the rotating selection of cookies seemed to appear magically for turndown when I was away from my room for dinner. My room was spacious, comfortable, and well furnished. The air conditioning, even when I turned it off or down when I left the room for the middle of the day, quickly cooled the room when I returned. My only suggestion would possibly be supply of a regular sized ironing board instead of a short legged desk top model--ironing of my shirts for dinnertime proved to be a challenge with the short legged version.

My only suggestion would possibly be supply of a regular sized ironing board instead of a short legged desk top model--ironing of my shirts for dinnertime proved to be a challenge with the short legged version.
