Indian Mound Motel

I have stayed at this motel now 3 times over the last 3 years. It is a no frills, old style motel, but the rooms are clean and comfortable enough especially for a short stay. If you need an inexpensive place overnight which is close to downtown STL, then this is a great option. The surrounding area might look sketchy, but I have never felt unsafe during any of my stays. There are plenty of restaurants and a nice little neighborhood dive bar all within 1/2 mile or less. There is also a small park in the neighborhood right behind the motel as well. The television is satellite with tons of channel options. The rooms have mini fridges as well as microwaves and coffee makers. My only complaints are there are small and few pillows, the a/c unit can be quite noisy, and some of the rooms are smoking ones (so pay attention to that when booking). Again, this is a great value for a single or maybe 2 night stay where you plan to be away from the room site seeing or on business. I'll stay here again I am sure several more times during visits to the STL area.

I am glad I read other reviews before going. For a very affordable hotel it was very good. The bed and bedding was new and comfortable. No clothes iron but glad it had a microwave and fridge. Some counter space in the bathroom would help but otherwise we very happy. We felt very safe at the location.

This room was great! Even though I stayed in a smoking room the room didn’t really smell at all! Yes there were hints of smoke but not much at all. That was very impressive. The room itself was very large and has the basic microwave and fridge. It was hard to get to because the road it is on is closed so that was a hassle getting around but besides that 10/10 one of the best rooms I’ve stayed at for price and quality. No fast food within 10 minutes but 15 minutes out you’ll have different food options or some small ones in the area-

we were going to St Lous for ball games fri sat sun.. this place was around 4 miles from St Louis new owners as it turns out. place was completely remodel inside and out. new beds and very well maintained room TV cable dek with chair dresser for clothes fridge coffee pot

Rented a double room and it was the best one that I have had in four stays. It was clean and very up-to-date. The microwave and fridge are always nice to have.

Great place to stay for the price. Staff was very accommodating for our large trailer and it was a quiet, comfortable place to sleep. Got in late and left early, it definitely did the trick.

Overall I got what I paid for. Walked around the room in socks and noticed the bottoms were dirty just a few moments after arriving. The place looked clean but the bathroom smelled like a mixture of mildew and urine. Also tried to cancel one room because our friends had a family emergency and couldn't make it. Although I booked a non refundable stay it would have been nice for them to have returned at least part of the money since I had booked 2 rooms for 2 nights. They said it was up to hotels.com. Hotels . Com said it was up to the property owners. He said she said. I kind of believe the hotel manager but oh well. I dont think I will be using hotels.com anymore. I believe they could have done something. Definitely not the hotel again. I've convinced my husband we just need to spend a little more.

There was very little around us. Only Mexican restaurants. There was a used cup under the bed. The bed was good but the king bed only had 3 pillows.

The room and service were mostly fine, but rather frustratingly there was no hot water in the bath/shower.

The room was very clean & smelled wonderful! The blanket was super soft and I loved the hard wood floor paneling!

After the long drive and a 12hr hospital shift going on 20th hour day I desperately needed to sleep, they were able to get me checked in early into a nice and clean room. Super quiet all day and night, comfortable bed, clean and soft sheets. Slept like comatosed, perfect for work travelers looking for quality sleep. Definitely will be a regular here whenever picking up work in the area.

Value for money and was spotlessly clean. Looked as if it had recently been updated. There was no food shopping nearby and the area was a bit run down.

Very no frills. Stated 3 nights for a race event, very close and nice rate. We go fairly often to race events and bring all our own stuff to make our stays enjoyable in no frills hotels. Only thing we really noticed was the floor need a good mopping.

I mostly need a clean, comfortable, quiet place to sleep, in a hotel. This place fit the bill nicely. It is very suitable for one or 2 people to get some rest. It is right down the road from the Cahokia Mounds Historic site, and about 10 mins from downtown St Louis; so conveniently located as well.

people were friendly, check in was ok, I booked a smoking room so that was on me, but I'm not sure where they got those pics from on the site, my room was very dingy, and out of date, I'm assuming 1997, it was quiet and the price was ok

This is my second stay at this motel and it went well as the first. Rooms are small but updated and very reasonably priced. The hotel is minutes from downtown St. Louis but the surrounding neighborhood isn't the best.

Basic room, very clean, comfortable beds. The hotel was close enough to the highway for an overnight stay during our trip. The staff was courteous and we were very satisfied.

The staff were fine and the inside of the room was okay. The area was very shady and the outside of property messy and felt unsafe. The biggest problem was they do everything through an agency so we could not talk to the motel staff personally. We booked 2 rooms and as soon as the receipt came through realized that they were smoking rooms so tried to cancel right away. The problem was I booked through Expedia and they had to cancel it for me. They didn’t do it in time so I ended up getting charged for 2 smoking rooms and 2 non-smoking rooms. I’ve been using Expedia for many years but if I don’t get some kind of refund I will no longer be using them. BAD EXPERIENCE!!!! By the way, Expedia’s website said this was a non-smoking property.

good for a cheap motel, they did not clan the room between the nights.

Booked while driving and mistakenly made check in for next day. Travelocity couldn’t help me. Stopped by at 11:30 pm and explained situation. Guy at a desk was very helpful and got us a room. Most people would have blown us off. Room was clean and beds were comfortable. Great value!!!! 75$ for pleasant experience Thank you again

We walked in the room and saw a quiet and clean space. Not fancy. But just right for the price. We were 15 minutes from St. Louis. With google maps it was easy to find.

Close to the raceway, Room was clean

Quick overnight trip to St. Louis. The hotel is only 10 minutes or so from down town and the price is great. My room was clean and up to date. It is an older hotel in a slightly rough area but I have stayed there several times with no concerns.
