Holiday Inn Express & Suites - Phoenix North - Scottsdale by IHG

The parking area is a bit dark at night more light would be great, the room was a small room but was very clean, the bed was amazing. I was charged 150.00 in case something was damaged or broken. I have yet to get my money back

We got into the hotel late, and the staff was helpful getting us checked in quickly. There was plenty of parking and it was free. Right across from Desert Ridge mall was convenient. The room was spacious and clean. Breakfast was decent, not a ton of options, but good for the family. We've stayed there once before and will be back again in the future.

the pool was only 3 ft deep and towels were tiny

Everything was perfect, but the gate in the pool area is tricky (maybe broke?).

Pool was closed. Gym equipment ( treadmill) not working, no towels. Staff were very friendly and helpful.

Hot tub needs to be open till 11 like other holiday inn

Pool was cloudy didn’t go in it. Went in hot tub and there was nothing but sand on the bottom. Having the pool and Jacuzzi was the main reason we stayed at that location because it looked nice online but in person it was disgusting… I thought this was a newer property not that old but when you walked in the room it smelled like smoke everything was dirty dingy it was very rundown won’t stay there again the only good thing about that place was location

We really liked our room. It was very clean. We were really impressed with the breakfast. I kept us going all day with energy! We were very disappointed with the pool. It was dirty and green. I mentioned that to the staff and they never fixed it until we were leaving.

Room layout, bathroom setup, and cleanliness were perfect. The breakfast was amazing too!

Our two night stay was quite pleasant. Room was very clean and quiet. Highly recommend.

The room was adequate but the shower had hair on the shower curtain. But everything else was great.

Excellent location, Room could be cleaned a little better

There wasn’t a notepad to write on in room. The used towels were not all replaced. Vacuuming could have been better. Lipstick was on our duvet cover-yucky.

The third floor smelled like sewer. Walking into our room smelled like we walked into a public bathroom.

The lobby, corridor and room felt like there was a layer of grease and grunge. Can use a thorough cleaning. Cheerful staff would also help.

Room was clearly smoked in. Staff had to come in and spray air freshener but it only marginally helped (and they couldn't switch us to another room since they were sold out). Air conditioning unit was very noisy too. Breakfast was better than most with cheese omelette and a variety of pastries. Coffee was also a machine that ground on demand and was avaialble 247 which was nice.

Very loud hvac throughout the night

Unfortunately we were put in a room overlooking the highway. We were up all night because of traffic noise.

Extremely noisy— the people in the room next to us were loud, and the traffic noise from 101 went on all night long. We still haven’t been credited back our deposit.

Clean and big rooms

Staying in Phoenix in August needs AC, and the unit here was great. The room was nice and the bathroom was clean. In addition, there was a giant cactus in the parking lot. Very cool!

My room was spotless and the bed was extremely comfortable!

A lovely hotel. The room is huge and very comfortable.

The walls in this hotel are ridiculously thin. The headboard wall of my room backed up to the elevator - talk about poor layout! Every time someone went up the elevator I could feel the vibrations in my pillows. There was a room full of teens next to me and I could hear them giggling all night, despite my call to the front desk. Don't stay at this hotel if you have to get up early the next day for work!

Allison at the front desk was so professional and friendly, and she helped us so much by making sure we were comfortable. We were in Phoenix for appointments at Mayo Clinic, and will be returning in a few weeks for surgery, and will definitely be staying here again. Ellen at Breakfast was great, too. She was friendly and efficient in keeping breakfast service running smoothly.

After we completely Checked in we were notified the hotel had no water. There obviously is No Standard Operation Of Procedure of how to handle this situation with guests. There also needs be training of the front desk employees on how to at least be somewhat sorry for the inconvenience. We stayed due do an 8 hour drive in and it was too late to try to find other Accomodations. Woke up the next morning to shower and the hotel had no hot water. As a guest there was no notification. You had to go down to the front desk to be notified that there was no hot water. I understand that things out of the hotels control can happen. The lack of concern and communication from the staff was unacceptable. This hotel being close to Mayo Clinic has many, including myself, that are there for medical treatments, appointments and need running water.

Friendly helpful staff

Staff is exception! They are so friendly, personable, professional. We were greeted everytime we left the lobby as well as when we returned. They were great from front desk to housekeeping.

When we checked in the front desk person was not friendly. We had a son at the Mayo Clinic and needed a second night stay. The same person was at the front desk and just told us no rooms available. He did not even offer other locations. He was just down right rude.

Wonderful Staff, property clean and welcoming

We have utilized Holiday Inn Expresses in the past with no complaints. This specific location should be re-evaluated by the executive staff with the organization. We checked in, the gentleman behind the desk was extremely rude as he was on a personal cell phone call when we checked in. We had to wait a few minutes for him to get off the phone. Once he did hang up his demeanor was anything but welcoming. Finally got our room key and I was confirming check out time with the gentleman. He then rudely pointed to the sign and said "II" with a very sarcastic tone. Very disappointing especially since they charged us $250 for a room. During the evening, I went to get some ice. I could not any ice makers nor did I find any signage where the ice machine locations were. I asked the night desk clerk, who also was rather rude and non accommodating, She then informed me the ice machines are located on the 2nd, 3rd and 4th floors. Again no signage at all. Very disappointing that I had to visit another floor for ice. Although not a big issue, it\'s a matter of the customer experience that suffered during our visit to this location. Finally, when we checked out, the front desk lady was on a personal call. TWICE within 12 hours. Lastly, we had cobwebs in 2 corners within the room which is concerning and makes one question the cleanlienss of the location. How can a hotel under the managing umbrella within the Holiday Inn family allow this to happen? Hilton here we come.

Closeness to music museum

Convenient to shopping and restaurants. Quiet, safe and clean. We stay here when we go to Phoenix to go to Mayo Clinic. Close and easy.

Very conveniently located at the north end of Phoenix in the Desert Ridge area with access to Desert Ridge shopping, High Street, restaurants and the Loop 101 highway.

Better than average hotel breakfast

I enjoyed my stay. The amenities were great management was professional. All my needs were met and they have a great breakfast buffet. I will be staying here again in the future.

A good spot if you're in Phoenix to attend the Musical Instrument Museum. Breakfast was varied and above average for a free hotel breakfast. Rooms were clean and comfortable.

Everything was great. The location is in the center of everything. The only thing I would improve is the food selection for breakfast. The juice was completely watered down and there wasnt much to choose from food wise.

Good beds, good water pressure in shower but not enough room to eat breakfast. We had to wait for somewhere to sit before we could actually eat. We would've gone out to the patio but there are only two tables out there (both full) and a wall that's like 5 feet away from them, making the patio not welcoming at all. :(
