What guests think

At Hotel Corona Plaza, travellers highlight a very convenient, walkable location near the beach and restaurants, friendly staff, and some renovated rooms with views, but also frequent maintenance issues, inconsistent cleanliness, and basic amenities that often fall short of expectations.

Standard rooms commonly lack air conditioning or heating, hot water can be unreliable, and noise and dated furnishings are noted, though several guests liked the views. Pool and elevators need better upkeep, and parking can be tight; check-in lines are reported at busy times. Breakfast is included on many rates but is basic and repetitive, sometimes not extended to children, while some guests enjoyed other dishes. Expect a stay focused on location with trade-offs in comfort and consistency.

Only 1 working elevator. The wait to use it was well over 30 mins. The rooms bathroom door did not work. My husband was stuck in there for 15 mins. Before we were able to pry it open. Because you are so close to the party scene… you could hear a lot of noise music and party goers. The breakfast was actually tasty and not bad at all.

Me gustó la alberca. Lo que no me gustó, fue que cuando regrese al hotel, estaba la cerrado el estacionamiento, y por las noches se escucha mucho el ladrido de los perros de los alrededores.

Room was very outdated which is no big deal, but tried to put some stuff in the closet and it was so dirty i just couldn't use it, the door didn't even close and had me worried all night. Also i thought i would spend the afternoon in the pool since its summer, But the pool water was murky and kinda greenish. I was very disappointed because the reason i booked there was because there was a pool. And there is no ac so it was pretty hot at night, i asked for a fan but they never came to bring it like they said. had to get up at 5am go downstairs and ask again.

The staff and food was great. The pool was real dirty and there was a smell. Our water was cut off in the middle of the night so we couldn’t use the restroom and the next morning the water from the sink was coming out like mud.

We rented the basic room and it didn’t have an AC Unit. The building is more on the older side so we decided to get the premium rooms since they stated they were remodeled and more comfortable, but it did not make a difference. We will continue to stick to City Express instead, since it is a newer hotel, cleaner and has an AC Unit.

Staff member stole our wallet, which had 500$+ passport, DL, and other cards. Other staff were not helpful and definitely tried to protect their friend. No cooperation on their end and then contacted the thief through text message who claimed they saw it but didn’t touch, even though they were the person to accompany us to our rooms and last outsider to be around our belongings. Later that night, the female manager who couldn’t help,“found” the wallet with items missing and no cash. Additionally, property was dirty. Towels were dirty and stained, beds had cigarette burns and hair, floors had dirt and trash as if they had not been swept or mopped, restroom had mold on the walls and poop marks on the wall near the toilet. Also, booking stated breakfast was included, staff said breakfast was not included and that kids don’t eat. Strange and aggressive behavior from staff, most likely due to our complaint of stolen property by. Do not stay here you will be dissatisfied and disappointed!

Very limited staff and space for check ins. Plan to check in when it’s not busy cause you can find yourself in an hour line check in. The rooms don’t have phones for room service so they give you a card with their number to call them from your cell phone but they never answer. If you want an iron in the room you need to go down to the front desk wait in line and leave an ID as collateral. The restaurant didn’t have change for large bills when I was there. This place was a nightmare. Never again.

Convenient place to stay. Staff was super friendly and the free breakfast that was included was very nice. The food was excellent! It’s a little bit of an older property and the room decor is dated the water temperature and pressure in the shower is inconsistent overall it was a decent day at the staff made the stay even better. Pick this hotel if you’re mostly going be outside and exploring the great city, people, and culture. If you plan to stay inside the hotel a lot probably not your best choice.
