I had a pretty bad reaction to the pool. I believe the pool may be contaminated or imbalanced. I had to go to the doctor due to this. Please check your pool levels for chlorine and bacteria issues at the address of: 410 New Goff Mountain Rd, Cross Lanes, WV 25313 Otherwise, the hotel had a great breakfast and the room was clean. That doesn't make up for the fact that I am still suffering from a pool reaction and had to go to the doctor.

The staff were friendly, The property was well-maintained. The building was clean and tastefully decorated. Our only complaint. Is that the wheelchair accessible bathroom on the main floor outside of The breakfast area and the main entrance claimed to be accessible, but did not have any bar to grab at the toilet so we could not get off the toilet without assistance.

They are doing some heavy duty remodeling.,which is fine. However, some of the remodeling is right next to the elevator and it’s actually a tripping hazard in that area. Not good. Also the swimming pool needs remodeled badly. It has actual chunks missing from it. Breakfast was great though…

The pool room’s chlorine smell was stronger than other similar hotels, and there was a floating band-aid in the empty pool. We didn’t swim in it as a result. Also, the pool’s bottom was quite marred and in need or repair.

Wonderful stay, would definitely stay here again. Got a phone call the day before arrival asking if they could do anything ahead to time to make our stay more enjoyable. Also received a phone call after check in to make sure room was acceptable. Breakfast was great! Above your standard hotel selection. Large selection (even had well cooked bacon one day!). Room was clean and bed was very comfortable. Did not use the pool, considered it but water temp felt very cold for a indoor pool. Decent location, was off the main road but felt safe! Overall great experience!

I called the hotel before booking to make sure the pool was open. No mention of renovations. My girlfriend’s kids had never been to a hotel and were super excited about the pool only to meet with disappointment the moment we got there. Pool and gym were closed. We only stayed 2 nights and no one cleaned our room. We didn’t have the dnd sign out, they just skipped us. Breakfast was better the second day than the first but overall that was average at best. All around bad stay.

The staff was great. Breakfast was wonderful. The hotel room door would stick and had to be slammed to close. Then there was a 1-2” gap, where the hallway could be seen. The shower wall’s tile had black mildew in the grout, and the grout in the tile floor was dirty with white powder in spots. The biggest concern was the stress fractures in the toilet bowl. We were afraid it was going to break while being used. I would suggest better water pressure with the shower head and raising the shower head. It’s not high enough for anyone over 5’8. A nice hand-held might be better. The beds were hard, but clean. The toom was very clean. The a/c worked wonderfully and wasn’t loud and annoying. Unfortunately, I didn’t sleep well, because everytime someone had to slam their door, which I’m assuming would stick like ours did, I would wake up. I loved the design of the lobby and table area. One last thing, the 3rd floor hallway was stiflingly humid. It was horrible, but it smelled clean. It wasn’t the best Holiday Inn I’ve been to, but it wasn’t the worst either. I’d stay here again in a pinch.

Property is under construction so limited on breakfast. Walls are paper thin could hear people outside talking at night and my neighbor getting what sounded like paper towels. Also was eaten by something in the bed which I still have swollen hot marks on my arms and legs.

Location off the expressway was convenient. Property currently being remodeled/updated. I was not confident that the duvet had been washed as it had a brown spot on it (blood stain?) sheets were crumpled looking and hair in the bathtub.

The lady at the front desk when we arrived was amazing. Our child had thrown up in his car seat right before arriving and she grabbed us some trash bags without us even asking (and gave us more later for the dirty clothes without us even having to ask!) - she was so helpful! But… when we got to the room there was a gap SO wide in our door from the latch to the floor that my iPhone fit through it. So large our child’s hand could fit through it. You could see right out the door like it wasn’t shut (but it was). Again, the lady was so helpful and immediately moved us to a new room. The new room door also had a gap but was smaller and only toward the bottom. We noticed that most of the doors on our floor had large gaps. The breakfast had lots of options and the lady working that was so friendly and doing a great job keeping things stocked, etc. Overall the staff was great, but that’s the only thing about the hotel that we liked. Doors and beds were creaky, our window shade was broken so we couldn’t open or close it. The elevators were dirty. Other than the staff, I really can’t figure out how this hotel has such a high rating.

Linzy at the front desk was courteous and friendly. The room was clean just a few observations: mattress very saggy on the edges, vessel sink adds too much height - very difficult to wash up, brush teeth for those of us who are vertically challenged and lastly tub drained very slowly. Overall would stay here again.

The interior of the property was good. The bathrooms need more towel racks since you only do housekeeping every 2 days. The sinks are too high for short individuals or children. The staff was great, friendly and helpful. The hallway noise was loud. Need a way for the doors to close softly. Also, voices carried through the walls of the rooms next door.

The Motel does not have Smart TV’s in the rooms which limit your viewing experience and the capabilities for streaming and mirroring sports & movies from smartphones and or tablets. Also the bathrooms are not equipped with proper exhaust ventilation.

The check in was super easy and the girl at the desk was super friendly. We were well pleased with the room and slept well! The breakfast was amazing and the staff was, again, very friendly. We will be using this hotel again for future visits to Cross Lanes!

In room fire alarm went off at 2AM, phoned staff, they told me it was the alarm clock as they were not alerted by system. It went off 2 d additional times thereafter. Phoned front desk again and was eventually offered another room. When getting new key with family at front desk was basically told in so many words that it wasn’t the in-room fire alarm despite my 2 daughters validating the story. Moved family over to new room, finally able to get some sleep. Spoke to someone the next day over phone about some sort of reimbursement, which was never honored. I would never recommend this hotel to anyone.

I was very upset we checked in and I paid for king handicap accessible suite they didn’t have and tried to put us on a 2 beds room and that’s not Greta for a couples night away my booking with hotels.com clearly showed what I booked she said they don’t even have those rooms anymore so you guys messed up

Very nice property, clean well maintained. It is a bit remote and it was a little difficult to locate. If possible, since it sets well off the main road, a sign at the property driveway entrance would be a significant help for all new guest to more easily find the property.

As a woman traveling alone I felt like this property was so far back in the corner it was a bit unsettling. There was not a good open area in front for parking, I had to park in back by a dumpster. It was a little scary.

Check-in was very fast and pleasant. The room was clean and comfortable. I’m an early riser, so I was happy that breakfast was served at 6:00 AM, and it was very plentiful - lots of variety. When I checked out, I was offered complimentary bottled water for the road. Perfect! If I’m ever in the area again, I will definitely stay here.
