Whispering Pines

The property is old but clean. There is NO A/C in the rooms. There was also NO towel racks to hang up towels in the bathroom. There was NO housekeeping, so to get fresh towels you have to return used items to the office to secure new ones. Beds were soft and comfortable, but you have to make your own bed. Liked the kitchen in our room, but you have to go to the office to get additional pods of coffee and creamer for the Keurig maker. Again...no housekeeping during our 4 day stay!!!!!

No staff on property they tapped envelopes with guests room keys on office door. Ice machine wasn’t working and offer no vending machines. Rooms and property is very dated and needs some maintenance.

Old!! No air conditioning

Clean, reasonably priced, but no frills motel accommodations in great location. Easy check-in. But repairs needed: missing screen in kitchen let in mosquitos and moths. Broken venetian blind. Kitchenette had Keurig coffee maker with regular coffee. Some decaf and tea would be nice addition.

Everything about it was in terrible condition. The heater in the bathroom didn’t work shingles were blown off the roof by a slight Wind, a shingle with nails in it fell on my car and dented the hood. There were water stains in the ceiling. The toaster is broken turntable in the microwave doesn’t work the worlds were completely bare.

Good location for accessing June Loop lakes. Nice restaurant across the street. Property is dated and could use some upgrades. Many of the windows were locked. Without air conditioning, the rooms got hot. Needs more ventilation on hot days.

The hotel looks abandoned. There was someone to help us find our key in an envelope. No air conditioning. No screens and yes now we have bugs. This hotel room is tired- linoleum buckling, hasn’t been remodeled in decades. Bed is comfortable. I would have been happy to spend half this price.

No one around to check us in at check in time...second floor walkway was in need of repair and hand rail was ready to give, posts were broken at floor of walkway.. EXTREMELY UNSAFE AND DANGEROUS....one good push and that person or persons would fall to the first floor..... WILL NEVER STAY HERE AGAIN......TOTALLY SURPRISED THAT HOTELS.COM HAS THERE NAME ATTACHED TO THIS PROPERTY......FEES SHOULD BE RETURNED

It was sufficient for a night but won't stay there again.The front desk was never open, just a phone number posted in case of emergency; The chairs in the bedroom area were about the fall apart; The toilet brush was just sitting on the floor not in a holder; The kitchen floor had a bubble, like the floor underneath was not in good shape; The stairs going up to the 2nd floor were wobbly as they were partially rusted and only attached by 3 bolts at the top; The sign in the kitchen said you will be charged $35 for any unwashed dishes; Loud trucks of the hunters and fishermen leaving at 3am and 5am; Nothing in walking distance.

Management was friendly and bed was clean and comfortable. However, the facility is run down with a lot of smaller issues, ie missing knobs on lamp, drawer and wall heater, dirty heating vents, missing baseboards, hole in the wall with cable curled up inside, lack of caulking by the tub, old curtain rods that are no longer being used, door lock that is problematic to use, outdoor furniture and cushions askew, lack of urgency to unclog a toilet (mentioned twice before action was taken), room entrance code was provided in an unsealed envelope taped to the office door with my name on it for check-in. No towel bars in the bathroom only hand grips for handicap toilet use.

Absolutely horrible hotel room. Please do not book here if you want peace of mind and keep your family safe! Family dealt with bed-bugs and there is no response / support from on-site management. Other pathetic state of the hotel: Spa was out of propane (who knows if that's an excuse). Towels were dirty, Lamp shade was torn, Kitchen light wasn't working...Pathetic and please save your well being and money by not going here!

Very clean for an out of date hotel. No complaints regarding cleanliness. I never saw any staff but other than that I was very pleased with the quality.

The office was closed and no one was on site. The keys and receipt with personal information as left in an envelope tape to the office door along with several others. Dishes and towels were stained and dirty. Wi-Fi was not working and we were unable to get extra pillows. I was extremely disappointed!

The location of the property was fine. Having a full service restaurant across the street was a plus. The surrounding hills are beautiful. It was quiet. I called two days before my arrival to confirm my reservation. I spoke with a gentleman who did mention what was waiting for me when I actually arrived at the property. earlier on the day of arrival I received an email which contained my bill, but nothing else. The bill indicated that I would be occupying room 124. When I arrived there was no one in the office and the door was locked. I did notice that there were two envelopes containing keys with guests names on the envelops. There was no such arrangement for me. A very kind lady who was with the housekeeping staff called someone and eventually someone showed. The man seemed very put out and gave me the impression that I was an inconvenience that he rather not deal with. He sized me up and and asked, Do you have a problem?" in a very rude manner. He informed me that I was reassigned to a different room and that my key was in the office. Which of course did me no good as the office was locked and unmanned when I arrived. The room itself was large. The bed was not very comfortable and the bathroom was not clean. The shower curtain was ringed in black mold, the shower pan was stained with the reminisce of past bouts of mold. The paint was cracked and peeling from the wall. In addition the cover on the bed has disgusting yellow stains.

Room was infested with bed bugs… Bites literally all over my body. Asked for a new room, denied as it was “full”, yet only one car in parking lot. Customer service rep was rude and ignorant. Said it wasn’t her problem and would “call cops” and have my belongings removed if I kept arguing with her. Probably one of the worst stays I’ve ever had!

The surrounding area is phenomenal, the staff were fine, we stayed 3 nights and had no cleaning service. King bed did not have a fitted sheet, towels were dingy, floor was warped, blinds at front window were broken, plugs wouldn’t stay in, kitchen curtains were filthy, ice bucket was cracked and leaked… need I go on!?

Wasn’t terrible if you have low expectations… it’s a motel… But actually it was a okay place to stay for a short weekend, close to June Mountain resort. Bathroom wasn’t the cleanest and is very dated, beds weren’t terrible, having a kitchen was nice, just looks old. Good heating. Close to restaurants in town.

Room was clean and spacious. Kitchen and room had everything needed for an extended stay. Staff was friendly.

Very nice woman at the front desk. The property itself seemed clean but the room smelled of dust so badly that I started to feel sick, my husband too. Also the stairs were right next to our room and as we laid in bed it would shake every time people used the stairs. They also need blackout curtains for the room. We were up all night.

Nice simple place to stay with incredible views of waterfalls ( July 4th 2023 weekend). There was a kitchen in our room which was very cool and convenient! The mattress was little bit too soft for our liking, but we managed. Overall, good experience! Thank you!

The room was large and comfortable.The bed was fine. I really liked that there was a kitchenette.

Check in was easy. Envelope containing the key was taped to the office. My biggest complaint was the bed was uncomfortable, too soft and lumpy. Room just needs a remodel. When someone walked or ran past the room the whole place shook.

Good value and location. Property is run down, and it would be nice to have an outdoor area to sit and enjoy the view. That said, the Mosquitos were awful so not sure we would have been able to sit outside. We killed many Mosquitos in our room when we first arrived. Also, the windows in front didn't open so the room was very stuffy. And the portable fan in one of our rooms was broken. The housekeepers were very nice - it sort of strange that there was no one in the office the entire stay.

5 stars – Peaceful and Comfortable Stay in June Lake We really enjoyed our stay at Whispering Pines Inn in June Lake. We booked a one-bedroom unit with a kitchenette, and it felt like a cozy little apartment. It was clean, quiet, and had everything we needed to cook our own meals. The location was perfect for exploring the lakes and hiking trails nearby. The front office wasn’t staffed during our visit, but there was a sign with a phone number to call or text. The person we contacted was very responsive and made sure we had everything we needed. Overall, this was a great place to relax and recharge after a day of outdoor adventures. We would definitely stay here again.

No one working in the front office. No Maid service ,kitchen is in poor condition. Had a hard time trying to get clean linen and Towels . Parking lot building lights. We're mostly out very dark. The Mountain View was beautiful, though.

The place was relatively clean, but the bed was terrible, i.e. you sank and your partner rolled toward you if you moved. We never met anyone at the property and our key was taped to the office door.

Room was perfect. We stayed in a two room that included a kitchen. It was exactly what we needed. We had forgotten some cooking supplies and the staff was helpful and found what we needed. Great location. We were close to June mountain ski slopes and just a short drive into mammoth.

Location is great! Right across the road is a fantastic view of the mountains and a big waterfall (when there's enough snowmelt or rain). The property looks a bit aged, but they keep the rooms updated and we'll furnished. Not sure if all the rooms have a mini kitchen in them, but ours did. Beds were a bit softer than what I normally sleep on at home, but still very comfortable. There's also an indoor hot tub and sauna attached to the main building. We were only there for one night but had an enjoyable stay.

Excellent front Desk manager So welcoming & Kind. Hotel is Great & the View of the mountains and massive Waterfall across the street is a huge bonus. Wake up to the sound of water, having coffee from your bench outside your room huge bonus. The kitchen was a nice surprise

This motel has a beautiful setting in the foothills of the Eastern Sierra Nevadas. Taken in isolation, the motel is old, but clean, facility. but the surroundings really set it off. Also, it has a full kitchen, which is very nice.
