This hotel is full of charm. Loved it from the minute we pulled up on our bikes and saw all the party lights the barbecue and the live music and picnic tables to our darling cozy bedroom, and awesome comfy mattress.

Our ferry was super late and it was the last one of the night. We were not sure what to expect when we arrived, since there is no front desk and check in was supposed to end at 11 p.m. and it was way past that time. And it was very dark. Unfortunately, we probably made way more noise than we should have because it’s gravel everywhere and we did a loop around all the cute cottages before we realized we were in the main house where we first turned in. The room was charming and the beds were comfortable. We had our coffees in the morning, checked our phones, and then it was time to leave because checkout time was at 10 a.m. Another guest told us we had missed good music at the restaurant on property, called Matthew’s Smokehouse. We’ll have to go back, especially now that we know what to expect.

I cannot recommend this hotel. It feels quite empty, no host, no place to eat breakfast nearby no advice to get to a place to eat. We had trouble using the code to get in our room. Phones do not work there unless you are on their wifi. Wifi isn't available unless you are in the room to find the wifi information. We had to find another guest who gave us the information on how to contact the innkeeper. Really disappointing. We thought we would be sleeping in the car since no help was coming. We did get in thanks to the other guest. The curtain rod kept falling down when opening/ closing curtains.

We had a wonderful stay at the Deer Harbor Inn lodge and would definitely recommend it to anyone visiting Orcas Island. The rooms were comfortable, clean and cozy! Perfect after a jam-packed day of hosting activities for our friends, from Deer Harbor marina to Eastsound, and ending with the best brisket ever at Matthews Smokehouse just across from the lodge. We enjoyed peaceful, quiet evenings and fresh air through open windows all night. Very convenient location when arriving by ferry and exploring all that Orcas has to offer! We'll be back!

Very clean room. The check in using a 4 digit code on the room worked perfectly. The hotel sent us the code the day before right on time. We loved the barbecue restaurant next door.
