Amazing hotel, would recommend the rooms with balcony as the view of Chania is insane. Very helpful staff. Regular quick free bus service in and out of town. Tours easily booked from reception. Incredible breakfast. Staff helpful. Lovely pool and sun lounger area. Good restaurant with beautiful view of Chania and sunset attached to hotel. Only complaint would be thin walls and due to the restaurant being above the rooms, the sound of the chairs and tables being moved around from 6am till 11pm is incredibly loud and disturbed sleep. An easy solution would be for the hotel to put felt covers under the furniture legs to avoid the dragging sound on the floor. Also there are lots of friendly healthy looking street cats around the hotel which are treated well. Sadly they drink from the pool which cant be good them so would suggest the hotel keeps a water point topped up for them. All in all - a lovely stay and would recommend.

A very amazing experience with a spectacular scenic view from the hotel. The staff were extremely gracious and helpful. We were pleasantly surprised by the quality of the buffet and the quality of the cooking at brunch and dinner from the chefs. Another pleasant surprise was the shuttle that we booked at the reception to bring us down to the old city and back again later on in the evening, which we took twice a day. This was our 30th wedding anniversary and we've already discussed coming back and definitely staying at this hotel once again if you're considering coming to Chania, we would encourage you to book with this hotel. You won't be disappointed.

The Royal Sun Hotel is an excellent hotel, albeit graded as a 3* but it is way above that grade. My wife and I have been to a few 3* hotels which suits its star rating and The Royal Sun Hotel far exceeded its rating. All the staff were excellent. From the front desk, the restaurant and bar staff, to the maids, through to the maintenance and the lifeguard, all so helpful and friendly. We tried to remember names but there was numerous names and many to name individually The rooms were adequate with the added bonus of a great fridge and freezer. Best rooms for the view, which is spectacular, are the top floor, although we found the noise from the restaurant and bar a little off putting for us so we moved 1 floor down which was much quieter. The food, breakfast, lunch and dinner was superb with great service from super friendly staff and the cost was average for us. Great pool and pool area, very quiet and ample space and sun beds for everyone although it was never crowded. We made use of the gym and hired a car from the hotel which was a reasonable price. We also utilised the free minivan into town a few times. If you’re looking for a great hotel out of the way, very quiet, to chill and recharge the batteries with great people and superb food give this place a try, you will not be disappointed. We will definitely be returning.

Gorgeous pool with an amazing view but the room was grotty with peeling paint and in need of an overhaul. Despite that, the bed was comfy, great breakfast and a fantastic pool with amazing views and lovely staff. One or two nights would be ok it just needs a bit of tlc
