Lovely Bed & Breakfast with the vintage atmosphere you would expect for a 1700's era property. However was very disappointed that the tavern & dining were closed due to a wedding during our stay. It is unfortunate that we were not notified at any time between our booking or even at the front desk when we checked in.

This was our second time here, and it was better than the first time. I love the features of this historic property. Our room has old hardwood floors and a fireplace. There is a veranda on the second floor for relaxing. One night we got a drink in the tavern, then had it on the veranda. The Inn offers a free continental breakfast, which is very good and has a lot to offer. We ate well every morning. The front desk folks were always friendly and helpful. I recommend this Inn.

Great inn in the country. It has a bit of wear and tear as you’d expect at a place that’s approaching 250 years old. Great sun porch and breakfast was amazing. If anyone has mobility issues, make you’re not on the 2nd floor!

The Inn was very nice overall. When you actually get a spot by and the fire it's lovely but people get there and stay there the whole time. And there are only 2 seats by the fire. Otherwise I thought the inn was very cold. The Innkeeper was exceptional but the bartender was not. She complained openly the entire time we sat there and was completely bothered by the fact that people wanted drinks. The only reason we even got drinks was because of the Innkeeper. My other complaint was the floor in our room was so squeaky. It really needs some maintenance. The grounds (during winter) were well maintained and we did hike to the gorge which was cool! The absolute best part was the food! We had dinner there and it was phenomenal! For the price, we were overall pleased!

The hotel gives great warm ambience. We really appreciated the warm and hardy breakfast that was made in-house from fresh ingredients. The room was big and very comfortable. We would definitely return here and recommend to friends. However, the hotel lacks proper maintenance and cleanliness. The sink was clogged and we had to pull out the sink stop for the water to drain, which pulled up a lot of hair. We also found hair in the bed and one of the pillow case was so dirty and stained that we removed it from the bed. Mold in the caulkings left a dirty impression of otherwise a great hotel. Be aware and travel light when coming to this hotel. This hotel does not have an elevator and the stairs are very narrow.

Charming, beautiful historic buildings, surroundings, and rooms. Loved having an upper balcony to sit outside. I learned, on our last day, of a pond and hiking path across the road but wish staff had made this known so i could have utilized the trail more. The tavern was a wonderful place to relax and spend time reading etc. One night there was live music, a nice surprise. The breakfasts were very tasty with lots of choices.

This is a beautiful old inn. The rooms have the original floors, which are wavy and creaky, and they had to come up and install a window air conditioner. But they did it happily and quickly. Note, there is no coffee in the rooms. Breakfast was made to order, and very good. Have the pancakes- amazing!

The Inn is a lovely place for a weekend get away. My only negative is we booked because it had a restaurant and bar so we wouldn't have to venture out. When we arrived we were told those areas were closed because of a wedding. There are some nice places near by to eat but when we came back there was no parking available because it was taken up by wedding guests. A little notice of this would have been nice, when we asked we were told they didn't have our info because we booked through Expedia even though we had received a message from the Inn the day before and got one to place this review.

It’s a lovely historical inn and the staff is so kind. The place is so dusty. There was hair on my pillow. All of the bathroom items like shampoo etc. were half gone and obviously used by the previous patrons. Otherwise, it’s quaint. The breakfast is out of this world. The pancakes are the best.

We read so many favorable reviews we were confident we made a great choice to stay at the inn, boy were we wrong! We had a great dinner one night but they did not even acknowledge my birthday. The room was dirty when we got there (more than one dust bunny) and a crushed Cheerio we had dropped did not get cleaned up. The box spring was stained, the ceiling was stained, the light was out in the bathroom & when it got fixed there were two different types of bulbs. I had to ask the front desk twice to get it fixed. Housekeeping kept leaving only one facecloth and one day they left us with a half roll of toilet paper and no Kleenex. When I asked for more they left two rolls & a box (unopened) on top of the toilet instead of putting the extra away under the sink. Our bathmat was threadbare. Dirty linens were left in our hallway for two days. The room we stayed in which was spacious but the floor was really uneven. Just a horrible stay!

They tried, I guess. The place needs a total update and renovation. Both inside and out. It is in a state of decline. It is not clean. It smells of musty antique furniture and old carpet. The room was not ready and the limited staff was mostly absent. Very disappointing. Cannot recommend.

The staff at the desk and in the restaurant were friendly and helpful. We had a very nice dinner and we enjoyed breakfast in the pleasant atmosphere of the dining area. Our room was a disappointment in spite of the fact that we enjoy historic properties. The wall to wall carpet was stained and had a musty smell and there was a fair amount of dust on some of the furniture. The toilet leaked from the base and small rivulets of what I will call water ran across the floor after each flush. At the risk of piling on I will also mention that we could not get the electric baseboard heat to work. With old properties there is a balance between historic and charming and shabby and poorly maintained. This property and location has potential but will need investment in dollars and TLC to reach it.

The Quechee Inn is charming with a superb restaurant that we have enjoyed over the years. I had the best duck ever for dinner. The inn itself is a little dated and in need of a little TLC. Our room could use a deep cleaning with heavy dust behind the head board and bugs in the bathroom light/fan. We still had a wonderful stay.

This was the dirtiest inn we have ever stayed at. Carpets weren’t vacuumed. When we got to our room there was an odor. A pillow was on the floor under the bed. Leftover beverages in the fridge and pajamas in a bureau drawer. The place was disgusting and should be closed. The teenager who checked us in was rude and indifferent. I don’t understand the prior reviews and had to apologize to my family for selecting this property.

The room was dirty and they didn’t fix it for three days, notwithstanding the requests. Hairs on the linens, dust and other around the room (for three days they didn’t clean it). The building needs a total restoration. Before charging the actual rates, they must fix at least the problems regarding the cleanliness and the building. Good breakfast

We had a Deluxe King room (room 11) which had two bathrooms with showers. Our bed was comfortable and the room was quiet during our stay. Breakfasts were excellent and staff were very helpful and cheerful. Rick is an excellent host- he and the staff are very busy and we appreciated all their hard work. We had dinner at the inn which also had an excellent Valentines Day combo playing which we enjoyed following dinner. Simon Pearce is just down the road as well as shops and Woodstock near by. This was our first time at the inn but we plan to go back on our next visit.

This is a classic Vermont Inn. The furnishings are a little tired and could use some updating. The outdoor property is very pretty. Breakfast is included and the restaurant is good. It's on a somewhat busy road which limited the ability to walk anywhere. Its convenient to Quechee and a bit of a drive to Woodstock and areas north. We were bicycling and had one nice 25 mile bicycle ride that we started from the Inn. Otherwise we had to drive to get to country roads to cycle.

Don’t get a room on the main level because you’ll hear every other person around you along with anyone walking upstairs or down the hallway. I’m not sure if the entire place is that uninsulated, but we were up past 1am listening to the various people talking and the floor creaking from people moving around …..the breakfast included had undercooked slimy scrambled eggs and was rushed and chaotic due to an event they had going on that day, which was obvious because we were practically finished with our breakfast before any of the staff even asked if we wanted coffee, juice or water…….clearly they aren’t equipped to handle both room guests and events in the off season.

This is a beautiful old inn. The rooms have the original floors, which are wavy and creaky, and they had to come up and install a window air conditioner. But they did it happily and quickly. Note, there is no coffee in the rooms. Breakfast was made to order, and very good. Have the pancakes- amazing!

The worse part was the staff. Not a single friendly interaction with anyone, from the chilly young woman at the front desk to the brusque woman who served us coffee at breakfast. While sitting by the hearth in the lobby, the fire went out and the entire lobby filled with thick smoke. I was just trying to help by trying to reignite the flame in the fireplace so the smoke would stop, something I do all the time at home with our own wood stove. A woman with a thin gray ponytail appeared from the kitchen and began yelling at me to get away from the fireplace and I tried to explain that I was only trying to help. She shouted that if I got hurt I would probably try to sue the inn and they would be responsible, and told me to leave. She was horribly agitated and rude beyond description and acted as though I shouldn’t even be in the lobby and really made me feel unwelcome and made a point of humiliating me in front of the other guests and staff. I’m just glad my children were still in the room. Also, the base boards in the tiny bathroom were filthy as if they hadn’t been wiped down in months. When you opened the windows to get air into the room, there was a thick crust on the sill.

We had a very nice time in this charming Inn. The room was roomy and comfortable and the staff were welcoming. We ate one dinner in the restaurant which was excellent and with the prix fixe menu was reasonably priced. The only negative was that our room was not cleaned during our three day visit. The manager did however apologize and adjust our bill accordingly.

This was our second time here, and it was better than the first time. I love the features of this historic property. Our room has old hardwood floors and a fireplace. There is a veranda on the second floor for relaxing. One night we got a drink in the tavern, then had it on the veranda. The Inn offers a free continental breakfast, which is very good and has a lot to offer. We ate well every morning. The front desk folks were always friendly and helpful. I recommend this Inn.

Stayed here for a weekend with my daughter for a special weekend away. I was overall really disappointed. I'll start with the positives: the beds were comfortable and the food was great. But besides that, the Inn left a lot to be desired. The room was not the cleanest. It needed vacuuming and there were hairs in the shower and on the bathroom floor. We arrived late, after the front desk was closed, so I had no one to complain to or ask for a new room. It was a short stay so we made it work. It was noisy at night. Not sure if that was from the restaurant downstairs or other people staying in the Inn. I would also suggest adding better blinds to your windows. The sunlight in the morning woke us both us as the drapes barely covered the windows. The bathroom was tiny. Just not what I was expecting or hoping for. Lastly, the teenager at the front desk was rude the next morning when I went down to check-in (since we arrived after the front desk closed). Otherwise all staff were very pleasant.

We had an amazing time at The Quechee Inn recently. It’s a gorgeous place in a charming, cozy spot. The rooms and common areas are beautifully decorated. The staff is super friendly and helpful. You can’t go wrong with this place. We’d love to stay again!

The Inn was very nice overall. When you actually get a spot by and the fire it's lovely but people get there and stay there the whole time. And there are only 2 seats by the fire. Otherwise I thought the inn was very cold. The Innkeeper was exceptional but the bartender was not. She complained openly the entire time we sat there and was completely bothered by the fact that people wanted drinks. The only reason we even got drinks was because of the Innkeeper. My other complaint was the floor in our room was so squeaky. It really needs some maintenance. The grounds (during winter) were well maintained and we did hike to the gorge which was cool! The absolute best part was the food! We had dinner there and it was phenomenal! For the price, we were overall pleased!

Front desk associate, Devon, was so polite and helpful. Everything was pretty much as I hoped and expected. From the somewhat uneven wide pine floors to squeaky doors and with hand hewn exposed beams in the lobby and common area, there was character at every turn. The grounds were well kept with views of a beautiful green field and a river across the street right from our room. I was happy to see two comfy chairs to view the TV before bed. I prefer watching TV from a chair rather than from the bed. We showed up at the inn’s dining room near closing and asked about just ordering dessert and coffee for which they happily seated us and brewed a fresh pot of decaf for us. The desserts were quite scrumptious as well. If you’re looking for quaint character, a rural setting with great service, this is the place for you. This location is very close to two major interstate highways of VT and NH, so it is very conducive for getting to attractions quickly. FYI, no elevator to the second floor so be prepared to bring your suitcase up a flight of stairs. Once again, this was exactly what I had expected, so I wasn’t disappointed.

I liked the country setting and the handy trail to the gorge. Being one who has worked in an apple orchard for many years it was hard to see how the apple trees on the property had been handled.

This is a classic Vermont Inn. The furnishings are a little tired and could use some updating. The outdoor property is very pretty. Breakfast is included and the restaurant is good. It's on a somewhat busy road which limited the ability to walk anywhere. Its convenient to Quechee and a bit of a drive to Woodstock and areas north. We were bicycling and had one nice 25 mile bicycle ride that we started from the Inn. Otherwise we had to drive to get to country roads to cycle.

This property was very quiet and beautiful. The Inn reminded me of a "days gone by" era, yet had modern day comforts. The restaurant was excellent. Food was outstanding as was the free home-made breakfast. The tavern was also comfortable and relaxing. I highly recommend this Inn.

We stayed for three nights for a Thanksgiving holiday getaway. It was our first visit to Quechee Inn on Marshfield Farm and we were very happy we came. Our room was comfortable and clean. I must give five stars for the food at breakfast and at dinner time. The bar makes first-class cocktails and the wine by the glass was delicious. The chef’s clam chowder is extraordinary; unique and fresh. I had it twice. We enjoyed three excellent dinners with cocktails including Thanksgiving dinner. Outstanding. On Wednesday late afternoon we were pleasantly surprised by their weekly live jazz cocktail party. The fireplace blazed and so did the friendly vibe. We hope to return again in the future.

Lovely Bed & Breakfast with the vintage atmosphere you would expect for a 1700's era property. However was very disappointed that the tavern & dining were closed due to a wedding during our stay. It is unfortunate that we were not notified at any time between our booking or even at the front desk when we checked in.

I learned, on our last day, of a pond and hiking path across the road but wish staff had made this known so i could have utilized the trail more. The tavern was a wonderful place to relax and spend time reading etc. One night there was live music, a nice surprise. The breakfasts were very tasty with lots of choices.

Cozy New England inn in a beautiful setting. We enjoyed the two nights that we stayed there. Good breakfast included in the reasonable price. The on-site restaurant was amazing for dinner. We highly recommend that you eat dinner there.

Our first time in Vermont and we are certain we could not have found a better place to stay. The Inn was better than described and even more beautiful in person. The room and bed where extremely comfortable. The breakfast was so good, some of the best scrambled egg I have ever had. When we are back in that area we will stay again. If you are looking for New England charm this is the place!

Took a walk through a bit of a bushes k trail across the street to the Gorge, can walk to other spots on that little Main Street via that trail.
