Skyview Motel - Prairie du Sac | Book like an insider

What guests think

Travellers describe Skyview Motel - Prairie du Sac as a quiet, no frills older motel with many updates, consistently clean rooms and grounds, and a convenient edge of town base for visiting Sauk Prairie, Wisconsin Dells, Lake Wisconsin, and Madison.

Rooms are simple, often remodeled, with comfortable beds and useful in room amenities like a fridge, freezer, microwave and coffee maker, but several guests found the lighting dim; a few noted loud AC or spotty TV reception. Service is frequently described as friendly and helpful, though a few reviews report unfriendly or abrasive interactions with management. Facilities are basic for a roadside motel, with large lawn areas, outdoor seating and grills, easy parking by the room, and pet friendly options. One night solo stay there while passing through town. I love these somewhat rural motels with your motorcycle right outside the door. And the property is well-lighted and huge. Very pleasant woman in the office, clean spacious room, with an actual 3-cup coffee pot. Bonus: a plastic card with all the TV channels, something that very few of the big chains provide. I had a wonderful stay, thank you, Sky View, I will be back.

The property totes as pet friendly but will not allow pet in room in a kennel while I had surgery across the street. Was not stated in their bio. Had no ironing board or hair dryer. Sheets on the beds had pilling and felt like sleeping on sand. Clerk was not friendly at all. Would not recommend staying here as a family. Really is a limited facility.

We needed a pet friendly stay for the night, we had been here years ago for a wedding in the area. It is a small motel, quaint, quiet and clean. A lot of lawn area front and back for the dogs to roam with us. Close to Baraboo, Wisconsin Dells and Sauk City.

Very clean room with new flooring. Only complaint was a bit of an odor - may have been partially due to high humidity at the time of stay.

DO NOT stay here! From the moment we checked in the manager was rude (when asking a clarifying question he turned aggressive) and then within ten minutes of being there we witnessed him harassing and threatening another guest twice. At this point I requested a refund as we were only there 10 minutes and I felt very unsafe and threatened by this man. He refused to provide a refund, we ended up booking at Madison Marriott West, which the staff is fabulous, they welcome dogs with no question, it's way nicer and cheaper! The owner can deny this review but we have a police report to prove the events that happened.
