Lovely room with a comfortable bed and Roku access to watch TV on a rainy morning prior to our departure for Salem tours. Breakfast healthy options of three kinds of granola, two kinds of yogurt, variety fruit cup and a variety of breads and muffins… coffee tea or water. Plenty of parking and a short drive to a variety of restaurants. Salem is only a 10-15 minute drive away

Check in was very smooth after hours with instructions that were texted to me before I thought to request them. The lobby is very clean and inviting, offering a few little spots to relax that are not your room. I love the wood floors. Room one is right off the lobby area and the absence of rugs or mats did mean that some sound and a little bit of light travelled easily into the room at night and at breakfast time. The other guests were not loud so it wasn’t really an issue. The views outside show a number of places to congregate in the yard if weather allows. I like this place and would stay here again!

We stayed for one night after exploring Salem. After hours check-in was easy. Convenient parking. Rooms were well appointed and comfy bed. Wonderful dining just down the road—highly recommend the Elia Taverna for dinner.

the rooms were bright and clean and the property was in easy walking distance to downtown marblehead. There were bikes available to borrow as well.. All in all a great experience

This property was beautiful. It was quiet and clean. I do believe it is more a bed and breakfast than a legitimate hotel. The staff, specifically Deb and Julie were fabulous. They were friendly, helpful, and very welcoming. They truly did everything they could to make our stay great. The few complaints I did have were due to my own misunderstanding of the property description and issues outside of the staff's control, like the couch in our room being ridiculously uncomfortable. The area is safe, quiet, and beautiful. The breakfasts were tasty and fresh, but are all cold like fresh fruit and pastries. There are no elevators, which had I noticed sooner, would have had a larger bearing on my decision to stay here. I would stay again, but not for 7 days, and definitely not on the 3rd floor again. I would recommend this place highly and only would suggest replacing the couch and putting in larger print on each room description that there is no elevator.

Nice hotel. Very clean. We borrowed bikes to cycle to nearby restaurant. Excellent breakfast.

Great quote place to stay for a couple, cosy outdoor area. Short drive to Salem and within distance to travel for day trip to Boston

Hotel Marblehead was a delightful surprise. There was only a few guests the night we stayed. We enjoyed the common room with fireplace all to ourselves. My friend and I did craft projects on the couch, by the fireplace, and chatted all evening long. It was lovely. The bed was incredibly comfortable! The breakfast bar was simple, but fresh and delicious. Marblehead, especially the historic district was a treat to visit. We will definitely be back.

Great stay at historic inn. Only downside was NO ELEVATOR was not on the description. No porter either, so we had to carry our bags up 2 flights of stairs. Otherwise, good stay in a charming location.

Staff was great and helpful. Small plate breakfast and coffee delicious. My only criticisms are: a large stain on the carpet in my room that looked like it had unsuccessfully been worked on and the buzzing of the overhead light in my room.

Nice hotel, 3 miles from downtown Salem. The room was not vacuumed but everything else was fine. It’s a historic property which is always interesting. They serve breakfast, it’s simple but appreciated. This is our 2nd stay here, I would recommend a visit.

The staff at the property on Wednesday was so rude! The bottom on my white socks were black because of the floors just in our room, if they were black; when was the last time they truly cleaned the room correctly? They say they do daily refreshing of the room, however there was no door sign and they didn’t even touch the room. The bed was comfortable however the cleanliness completely steers me away.

Lovely house and comfortable room. Easy check-in, quaint and close to both Marblehead and Salem. Breakfast was great. Would stay again.

This was the perfect stay. Front desk attendant was super friendly, the property was quiet but located close to restaurants and shopping, clean, and well kept. I can’t say enough about Hotel Marblehead, I’ll be back for sure

Room was spotless, strawberries were fantastic and a great touch to welcome us into the residence.

The house itself was charming, but our room was absolutely terrible. It appeared to be clean, but the carpet had so many stains. The furniture was cheap and plastic, the room was dingy. There was no hairdryer, breakfast was just some sliced up coffee cake. The air-conditioning unit in the window was not sealed properly and cold air was coming in all night. Not to mention road noise all night long. I wouldn’t not recommend this hotel for the price we paid. It was just horrible!

How very small the wash basin was!

Comfy but needed some updates. Bathroom vanity was water damaged. Could use USB/C ports near bed. Window a/c unit was still in window and it was 17 degrees out and wind was entering through the gaps around the unit. But, still a very cute place and complimentary breakfast was lovely!

Let me start by saying what they did do right. The place is beautiful and very quiet. It was clean. The Views around Marblehead are stunning to drive to. Our room had a patio that we enjoyed sitting on in the evening. Coffee was right out side our room at any time of the day. However, Check in is at 4 and the staff leaves at 6. I was getting a text at 4:15 to remind me of this. Upon arrival the staff was professional but not friendly. Our room was VERY Small compared to a normal hotel room however the tub was a soaker and very spacious. When we went to bed that night I thought the bed would break when my husband got in and expected it to hit the floor at any moment during the night so it slept horrible and had a huge dip in the center. It was definitely broken, but with staff not on property what do you do? I informed the staff the next morning and they didn't know it was broke. Cleaning staff should have caught that. The breakfast was only yogurt and muffins with glass jars of fresh fruit. So not much to get you through the day on. I will say that upon leaving they did offer me a discount because of the bed if I ever returned. I don't imagine I will ever be in the area again but at least they offered something.

It was our second stay here. We appreciate the excellent staff, uniqueness of the property and convenient location. However, this visit our rooms thermostat was malfunctioning and we awoke in a sweat during the night with a room at 78 degrees. Readjusting the temperature had no effect so we resorted to opening the patio door wide at 3 am to cool off the room, turning the heat off completely and starting the air conditioner. We fell back to sleep about an hour later.

The hotel was clean. Room was clean and the bed was comfortable. However there was no space to sit with a laptop or to eat anything. Hotel staff when they were present were friendly. WiFi did not work well. For most of the time it did not work at all and when it "worked" it was not very good i.e. during a zoom call it dropped out many times. The hotel is not staffed 24 hours so when issues came up there was no one to resolve them.

Great location, with off street parking. Old home, refurbished. Easy walk to beach. With high price I would expect it to have warmer atmosphere and be a bit less worn out. Furnishings very low end, plastic chairs. Tiny bathroom sink was a joke, annd not a funny one. and spots throughout need touch up.

Nice place but Room 5 that we stayed in was noisy with both road noise and heating system outlet under window. Lighting in the room was either super bright or difficult to control.

We had a very nice time with our stay at The Hotel Marblehead. Enjoyed the small plate breakfast provided each morning. The only issues we were with Wi-Fi. Could not connect my cellphone to the Wi-Fi. I was told there is a known issue with phones that use Verizon service. This issue needs to be corrected. Also had issue that I could not connect to Wi-Fi from my laptop in my room. Signal strength was good. I could connect my computer to Wi-Fi in the hotel lobby. Minor inconvenience but was able use my laptop for the tasks I need to do with the Wi-Fi connected while working in the lobby.

The hotel Marblehead was charming. The main issues were the tiny sink, and I mean tiny, about 12 in by 5 in, located behind the door of the bathroom. The lack of a mirror in the bedroom or a full length mirror of any kind was a pain for people getting ready for an event. Lastly, the hotel was full, and the coffee and snacks that were put out for all of the guests were not replaced, so only the first few people were able to access this amenity.

On the plus side: Super comfortable bed, excellent quality pillows, sheets and mattress. Hip, well-decorated room (brick wall, bookshelves etc.) Nice breakfast - not super substantial, but fresh fruit salad, homemade devilled eggs, etc. On the minus: No sound insulation- could hear person snoring in next room, could hear every word of people's conversations in common space outside my door. At breakfast, no music/atmosphere - have to listen to people's conversations in echoing space with no rugs. Location, very far from anything - no shops, restaurants, nothing to eat at hotel aside from breakfast (no snacks, vending machine, anything.) Bit of a desolate area- need a car to get around.

Staff was decent, the hotel was supposed to do light housekeeping and no housekeeping was provided during the whole trip. I had to make my own bed every day and throw my own trash away also due to the room not having a trash can in the room. Only had a small trash can in the bathroom, the room was also poorly decorated and the fridge was on the floor and not even on a stand.

Cozy bed and breakfast style with lots of Charm the staff is very helpful. If you are checking in after hours, make sure you let them know because no one will be in the office and they will leave the key in the mailbox for you.

The staff was helpful and responsive through texts but in person not very friendly or present. The house was cool but we had a broken rusted shower rod almost unusable sink and the fruit for the very small breakfast was molded.

Was happy with the room - I thought it would be in more central Marblehead but that wasn't a major. We had a big day so were in bed by 9.30. There was a beeping noise that constantly went which we eventually discovered was a smoke alarm. I called the emergency number and was told she wasn't sure what she was going to do as she was only 4 ft something! Anyway - she did come a fix and we eventually got to sleep around midnight. When I mention this the next morning the comment back was - yes I am tired too and got to sleep later and had to be at work at 5am! So my comment is merely about customer service - no apology, no front footing - just something we had to suck and and deal with. Have been to over 6 hotels in the last few weeks so you notice service and customer care. An unexpected event which could have been handled with more courtesy.

Our stay was amazing! From the moment we walked in to the moment we left, Debbie was the absolute best! We will be back. ❤️

We arrived early to explore Salem but no one was at the front desk, so we quietly used the lobby restroom to freshen up. We were whispering and careful with our luggage when an employee came out, didn’t greet us, I asked about checking in and said with an attitude, “We’re not even open yet, it’s way too early,” before walking away. Another guest came out complaining and began talking about us with the employee as if we weren’t there, which made us feel unwelcome from the start. Their check-in window is only 4–6 p.m., and no one is on-site overnight. The only reason we entered that morning was because another guest left the door unlocked, which normally requires a code. When I asked about luggage storage since we’d return after hours, I was told it would be kept behind the desk and placed in our room later, with the key left in an envelope — not secure. When we came back, our luggage was sitting in the lobby with a sticky note and our room number. Luckily, nothing was missing. The next day, two new employees were much kinder. Later, we were told maintenance needed to fix our toilet, but afterward it worked worse, and with no staff around, we had to use the lobby restroom. The beds were comfortable, breakfast was good, and the location was close to Salem, but the poor hospitality, lack of security, and limited hours made us feel uneasy. If staff were more welcoming and procedures safer, our stay could’ve been much better.

The staff was late setting out breakfast. Ignored us in the lobby while we were waiting for the breakfast service. It was completely empty when we arrived which felt somewhat unsafe.

Debbie and Cat were extremely helpful and allowed us to check in early so that we did not miss attending a scheduled tour. We would definitely stay there again.

The Hotel Marblehead was a spot we chose to be both close to local beaches as well as the airport. Our stay was short but we were made to feel at home. The neighborhood is beautiful and quiet. I’m just guessing but this whole area must be a sweet taste of life in coastal Massachusetts.

I spent 2 nights here, exploring the New England coast. The room was comfortable, with a comfy bed, nice hot shower and a small fridge. Staff were friendly and the simple breakfast in the morning was delicious. Off street parking and great place to explore the area.

What a wonderful find this beautiful inn was! Incredibly kind staff with infinite knowledge of the area. Room was perfectly apportioned and quiet with the most comfortable hotel bed/pillows I’ve ever experienced. Breakfast was different and terrific every morning and the coffee was fresh and A . Wine glasses and corkscrew was a lovely touch.

Would consider staying there again. Excellent fresh fruit at breakfast. It would have been nice to have an earlier check in. This was not possible since the property was fully booked the whole weekend.

To use the shower you had to climb into a slippery jacuzzi tub which had no grab bars and got even worse with the use of soap. When we arrived the tv didn’t work and had to be reprogrammed, but the staff left at 6pm. Breakfast was excellent the first morning, but the second day not so good.

The breakfast was yogurt and fruit and associated pastries with loved the yogurt and fruit and i liked the pastries but that was all other then coffee
