We had a great experience at this hotel. Beautiful view, pet friendly, and the pool was open until 1145 pm super convenient if you want to watch the sunset before a dip. Our room was very clean and we had a sandy path from the hotel to the beach. The bed was a little stiff for me but i will go back when im looki g for a spot to stay.

Room really needed updating, flat screen TV, better chairs for the balcony, new headboard. Biggest disappointment was the broken hot tub and pool. How often do both break at same time,? This information should be shared online. Food was good and bed was comfortable.

Extremely dirty inside, one of those hotels u keep your shoes on! Hair all over the shower, moldy spots in all corners. Very outdated for the price. The pool was EXTREMELY cold and not heated at all. Breakfast was okay.

After being on the road, camping and hiking for a few days. We decidedly to splurge on a rather expensive room for 1 night here. The selling point was the hot tub spa to soak our soar muscles and the much needed on site laundry amenities. Long story short… the laundry machines were out of order and the hot tub was the same temperature as the cold pool.

Stayed here a few years back and it was quite nice, sadly things have definitely gone downhill since then and I don't think we'll be back. Certainly not up to par with other Best Western properties. The good - All rooms (I think) have ocean views and there is a trail that goes right down to the beach. Heater in the room worked well. Indoor pool and hot tub our kiddo thoroughly enjoyed. Breakfast was great, we got there right before it ended on a Saturday and still were able to get waffles, eggs, potatoes, ham, biscuits and gravy, etc. The staff were all very kind and helpful. The bad - Our room was on the lower level, which DOES NOT look like the pictures. I understand that these are the cheapest rooms they offer however transparency is important. The lower level rooms are located below the parking level ones, in a musty hallway with a door that no longer locks. Furniture looks like it's from 2005 and all felt like it had a film over it. I got the feeling we may have been put in a pet friendly room, which I did not appreciate as we were traveling with a young baby. Stained lampshades. Curtains were ancient, stained and the sheer ones are yellowed from age. It was nice to have a balcony however there was no screen and the slider did not lock (which is concerning as we are on the lower level). There was just a piece of wood to place in the track. We found a blood stain on the sheets. There was quite a lot of black mold in the bathroom and on the window

The microwave had cooked spilled food in it so we couldn’t use it and the bathroom had hair on the toilet as well several hairs on the floor in front of the bathtub . After driving all day and hours driving in a huge storm I was really looking forward to a hot bath when checking in but after seeing how unclean the bathroom was i only rushed taking a quick shower. Also we specifically reserved a pet friendly room which my confirmation clearly shows but I was charged a $250 pet fee by this hotel. Even when Hotels.com contacted them they refused to refund the wrongfully charged fee. This hotel is shady and I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone. Drive a little further north and stay in the cuter town of Coos Bay.

I was very disappointed to find our room was bit odd smelling. I thought the room was very lacking in appeal and had loose floor tiles. While it was clean and had the necessities for the most part. No shampoo only conditioner. No soap or body was in bath. Only 2 towels. Our lower floor unit didn’t really have a beach view. This was one of the more expensive rooms of our trip and was the worst. I will say the breakfast was great.

I’ve stayed in Motel 6’s nicer than this. This hotel was a massive disappointment. To start, the door to the hallway was rusty and falling apart, key locks didn’t work and the stairs down to the door didn’t not feel safe. The hallway itself was so loud, every step I took boomed and I felt bad for anyone sleeping. In the room every piece of furniture is scratched up and very used. There was trash under our beds and a literal dog turd on our balcony. Thank god I didn’t start my trip by stepping in poop! So gross. The tv is grainy and didn’t work well. The shower pressure was solid and the shower did heat up, but the curtain didn’t fit the frame so water got everywhere and soaked what I had in the bathroom. In the morning the walls are so thin that every sliding door from neighboring rooms woke me up, extremely loud hotel even though no one was trying to be loud. The breakfast in the morning was awful. The toaster barely works, the eggs were extremely bland, and the potatoes tasted like actual dirt. They didn’t provide any salt or pepper to give the food any flavor. The employees in the breakfast area also were all sh*t talking other employees, super unprofessional. I paid $155 for a room and it was such a waste of money, extremely disappointed. Stay at the Pacific Reef Hotel, same price but actually worth the cost. The only reason I didn’t stay there was because they were fully booked, now I understand why. Don’t stay here!! I feel ripped off and like I threw $155 away.

We have stayed at this hotel many times. The staff is always pleasant and helpful. It is an older hotel but was always clean and comfortable. This stay was a real surprise. Our room was dirty. We found several pieces of trash under television credenza, between night stands and bed. The rug was dirty and sticky in some places. Fan in bathroom didn’t work. Outside grounds need attention. It appears that a complete makeover should be done. The Hotel is just not up to Best Western standards. This is a tough review to make because the hotel staff is excellent.

Right by the ocean with an easy walk. Breakfast had hot and cold foods to eat. Bed was very comfortable. Couldn’t get on the internet, but had it on my cell phone. Tv selection was just ok, but beach was great!

Reasonably nice, older property. The room was clean. However, there is NO air conditioning in the room. When we arrived it was at least 85 degrees in the room. We open the terrace door and left to get supper. When we returned, it was still about 80 degrees. We slept with the terrace door open. It eventually cooled down, but having your door open all night doesn't give you a good feeling.

We had not been on any kind of overnight trip since COVID hit, so we were unsure what to expect. On the surface, it all looked great. Just below the surface, the details presented themselves that caused us to drop our enthusiasm. The furnishings were very "used"--from the chairs that were way too uncomfortable to a couple of seniors to the dresser with drawers that were touchy about how to open (or only open partially.) The breakfast was OK. As a diabetic, I do not have high expectations for anyone's breakfast, and this one was average and quite servicable. We did not use the pool, or walk to the beach which was very close.

Beach access was great. The room needs upgrades. Patio door doesn't lock and they obviously knew it because there was an old curtain rod in the window frame that we used to insure no one could get in. Breakfast was ok. Staff was ok.

Single night stop passing through. Stayed in the same room 15 years earlier when it was the Gold Beach Resort. Hasnt changed. Everything worked, some wear and tear, but generally amenable. Included hot breakfast was good, daughter made her first waffle by herself, highlight of her trip. Staff friendly, weather cooperated; however, no air conditioning or fans in the room, so plan accordingly in high heat conditions. Water pressure was on the soft side, so expect longer runtime for proper rinsing.

It was just okay. Not worth the over $200 cost. Unfortunately I had an insomniac in the room above me who was pacing all night long. Because the hotel is old and made of wood, that made it creaky and squeaky and noisy. In the morning they said I should have called them.

When checking in the two women behind the desk were bickering at each other in such an unprofessional manner it was getting embarrassing. I guess one was the GM of 18 years and the other was a new hire. The clock and telephone in the room did not work. I had to use my cell to call the office. There was debris under and around the furniture. The room smelled like mold, i had to open the slider to air it out. Also the room hasnt been renovated since the '80s. I was appalled that Best Western has their name attached to this location. Their standard is clearly not upheld. I thought I could rely on that standard.

Loved that it was a quick walk to the beach, large balcony/room, nice pool/hot tub and quiet. Front desk was not very friendly initially, telling me I couldn’t check in until 4pm, not offering any suggestions on what we could do to kill an hour since the hotel is on the edge of town and not really close to anything. The other staff were friendly and helpful though. Breakfast was a nice option but going around 9am there were out of almost everything both days. Overall good place to stay!

Breakfast was delicious especially with their roasted sliced ham! The rest was typical, sausage and biscuits, eggs, waffles, etc. We were traveling with our dog and the large area in the back of the motel was perfect for walking him especially since there was also a trail to the beach which we walked at least once a day. Gorgeous sunset and a very friendly staff. The only negative was if you had a noisy guest in a room above you. We will definitely be back!

The entire stay got off to a terrible start when I arrived 45 minutes before check-in time as we had a workshop that started at 4PM and I wanted to be in the room before the workshop. My room was cleaned and ready, but I was informed that if I checked in 45 minutes early, it would cost $30! It was not the amount, but the principle that annoyed me profoundly. I will never again stay at a Sure Stay or Best Western again. I have checked in early on many occasions and have NEVER been charged a penny until this stay. Also, I have checked in late often and never got a refund because I did not occupy the room for the full allotted time.

The staff was excellent, the bed was comfortable, and the rest of the furniture was old and tired. We were on the third floor and there was a set of stairs to go up (second floor was the ground floor). The balcony was a bonus and it was a nice place to eat leftovers and enjoy the sunset. There was also a path to the beach on the bottom floor. Breakfast was good a little better than the average.

We picked the 1st floor because my husband has mobility issues only to find out the 2nd floor was ground level. No elevator meant he had to use the stairs often. We chose this hotel and city destination based on the availability of their jacuzzi suite. Upon check-in we were notified that jacuzzi in our room was not working and there were no others available. They offered to give us a partial refund but said they would need to get approval from the manager. The insulation must be terrible because you can hear every footstep and conversation that takes place in the hallways and neighboring rooms. We were also placed next to what looked to be a laundry facility, which sounded like it was in the room with us as the machines ran late into the night. It did at least drown out some of the noises coming from the neighbors. Our room was located along the walking path to the beach. Unfortunately, so was our bathroom window. The blinds in that window were only long enough to close leaving a 4-5" gap at the bottom. This was precisely crotch level if you were in bathroom and nicely eye level if you were a stranger out on the path. Ours was the only room on this floor that had this issue and the closest room to the path. Upon check out we were informed that because we booked through Expedia we would have to go through them for the partial refund. I contacted Expedia and they were happy to oblige but would need confirmation from the hotel management. They never got a response. Ghosted.

So, we stayed at this place called Surestay by Best Western on the 15th of November. The check-in was a breeze, and this really friendly guy (I can't remember his name, sorry) helped us out. The room was amazing! It had a view of the ocean and a balcony. We only stayed for one night, though. The only thing that was not the best was breakfast. There were no muffins, no granola, and they didn't even have a full lineup of coffee options, like decaf. But other than that, I'd definitely stay there again, just without the breakfast.

Breakfast was not fresh, at least for the potatoes. You can tell they were made the day before and reserved. If you get then the first day they are crisp and nice but on day 2 they are just gross. Eggs look like they cane out of a carton, ham was ok. They do have waffles, bannanas, and juice and milk. The hotel needs some repairs but it is always a nice stay on the coast. We stayed in the top floor room and had a great veiw of the ocean plus the fancy outaude chairs. This is our 4th time here and for the price we will be back.
