The staff was delightful! The bed was very comfortable. The room was very clean, and service was excellent throughout the stay. The lodge itself is very fresh and pleasant considering the age. The location is absolutely perfect. The heated pool on a winter night is unforgettable.

What a darling, quaint, convenient place & the proximity to gondola one was amazing. Totally loved the giant hot tub pool & ski/boot storage. The breakfast option was a bit unclear - I never used the option but would have liked to. Parking was excellent. Staff were very nice.

The hotel does not have air conditioning. It needs refurbishing. Housekeeping opened my door on two separate occasions when the do not disturb sign was out. I use noise canceling earbuds for phone calls and did not hear them knock. Room was quite noisy as windows needed to be open and a 10 year old box fan put into one window to cool down the room. No valet, to park car you have to get card from front desk, open lot gate with card, park and return card. Not pleasant after dance performance late at night in rain. Pool is kept at 90 degrees F so not a place to cool off during day. I would not stay there again in the summer. Ski season might be different.

Doesn’t have AC and though the nights are cool, the rooms hold onto the heat. Ceiling fans would help. Shower curtain was not at the right height so bathroom floods when you shower. Staff very nice.

The staff was excellent, very friendly and they made our room available a bit early which was nice. The room was a bit dated, found some hairs in the shower and the window blind could not go up or down. But the area is nice very walkable to everything in Vail Village and parking was a breeze.

Only negative was that there is no a/c or ceiling fans and we stayed during a heatwave but with fans provided and open windows the room was pretty comfortable as Vail cools down at night. We enjoyed our stay and would stay there again.

The location is excellent. It's right next to Gondola One. The heating in the room broke and the room was freezing cold. The bathroom made a loud whining noise a few times every night. The room was next to the street so you'll hear people late at night. The water temperature in the shower jumps up and down so you will freeze or burn yourself. To access the outdoor car park you must first walk inside to get a special key which is a bit inconvenient. Also you're not guaranteed a parking spot which is ridiculous if you're paying extra for it. The room is old and shabby but it's cozy.

Expedia messed up our reservation and the front desk clerk was amazing! He handled the error with grace and compensated us in a very fair way. AAA for Customer care, helpfulness, and kindness. We had two rooms. One of our rooms did not have a working TV nor could we access the internet as the guest network did not appear. The beds were comfortable and the shower was refreshing!

A little tired, but great location. The property is a little tired, but still quaint and "good enough" for the price for a beautiful and inspiring couple of days in Vail. Right next to the old Vail Village, but removed and protected enough to be quiet and peaceful. Right at the base with great access to trails. No food service and pretty poor coffee in the morning. No major complaints - just make sure your expectations are not upscale Vail with everything ship-shape and new.

Everything you may need for a great ski vacation. Location is awesome, our room was spacious and clean, the bed was comfy with a great view. Solid wood, handcarved furniture throughout and a true Swiss Chalet vibe. Heated pool and tub offer apres ski fun. Appreciated the protein bars that were out for grabs. Wish there was a microwave in the breakfast area that guests could use as well as a gym. All in all, I feel we got great bang for our bucks.

We love the ski in ski out option, closeness to slopes and the pool/hot tub facing the slopes. Auch a unique austrian looking property. Comfortable and plenty of space. One downside this year to our stay 4 years ago was no breakfast service, unless you paid for it. 4 years ago it was included and plentiful.
