Easy and friendly check in. Clean shower, and bathroom, easy tv remote, nice welcome with champagne and hot cider. Relaxing chairs to sit in..Dinner was very good, Carla and owners were also good waiters and Allan is a good chef. The eggroll appetizer and salad with mild cheese were both very good. As were the surf and turf and Brazilian Beef, no room for dessert but our chocolates in pur room. We are glad we stayed at Lafayette Inn. Very nice to us .

Beautiful historic inn. We stayed in the Washington Suite and where complimentary champagne and chocolate were waiting. Very comfortable accommodations. Lovely breakfast. The omelette with fresh spinach and tomatoes and feta cheese. So good. Kaye was a lovely host. We highly recommend and hopefully will have an opportunity to stay again.

Really enjoyed our time there. Friendly and helpful staff, delicious breakfast, and easy checkin and checkout. Also is a cat sanctuary which provides for a fun ambiance as well! Would highly recommend!

Great little inn, conveniently located near the Swift Run Gap entrance to Shenandoah National Park. Our room was large, clean, and cozy with a fireplace. Breakfast was great every day. The inn keepers are super nice and the staff is great for advice on the area for wineries, hiking and other interests. We really enjoyed dinner at the Restaurant.

Unique stay in an historical building with lots of charm. Welcomed by a friendly host who showed us to our room where we found champagne and chocolate waiting for us. Spacious, comfortable suite. The breakfast was outstanding! We chose scrambled eggs and French toast and highly recommend. Easy access to Shenandoah National Park. Would definitely stay again.

This historic Inn in a very small town ( population about 400) was a lovely respite. There was ample space in the room with a full bed, private bath and sitting area with fireplace. The restaurant on site offered a very nice dinner menu and wine selection and breakfast was served st our table and complimentary. Loved everything about our stay. Very gracious hosts.

What a fun little find! Lovely spacious inn deep in the heart of Charlottesville wine country. Close to a number of wineries and to Charlottesville. The suite had a comfortable sitting room and a spacious bedroom. Don't miss dinner at the inn as it's amazing. Breakfast the next morning was better than any hotel breakfast I've had in years--the French toast will haunt my dreams. Definitely will be back.

Allen and Kaye were great! The perfect Hosts! Property was very cool and historical. Loved Dicey's Cottage ( Our specific accommodation) Food was excellent and Breakfast each morning was Very Good. Just the type of place we love to stay!

This hotel is from 1890. You feel like you have stepped back n time with modern conveniences. We stayed in Washington Suite. We ate dinner in the restaurant and food was high end and wonderful. We had scallops and shrimp pasta.

The Lafayette is both a well-preserved and maintained historical property and high-quality restaurant. Having both of these things in one place is fantastic. My husband and I stayed overnight (celebrating our anniversary), ate dinner at the restaurant and then had breakfast there too (included in the cost of our room). It was so convenient to eat at the best restaurant in town and then head to our room…in the same building. I don’t believe I’ve ever stayed anywhere before where a high-quality, cooked-to-order sit-down restaurant breakfast was included complimentarily with the (very reasonable) cost of the room, but that was the case here. In addition to the accommodations and food being excellent, so was the service—everyone we met was so pleasant. Our server at the restaurant during dinner was particularly friendly (and very attentive). On top of it all, the inn is conventionally located close to the Shenandoah National Forest and a huge number of wineries. It’s a perfect weekend getaway and the surrounding countryside is gorgeous. Our room was very clean, and the bed was comfortable. Would recommend for sure.

We stayed overnight convenient to Harrisonburg to attend two days of our granddaughter’s graduation ceremonies. Unfortunately we had to leave before breakfast. Tyler would be improved by two things, a 60” TV on the mantle in the bedroom and improved lighting in the sitting room to enable newspaper and books to be read. Jack and Di LEESBURG, VA

Quiet, safe area.Staff are so friendly, respectful and welcoming! They go above and beyond to make you feel right at home and comfortable. Suites are fabulous! Especially the double firplaces. Beds socomfortable. Felt so at home and relaxed, hated to leave. Definitely 5 Star!!

The proprietors of the Inn were very hospitable and available. It was a very charming historic place and we enjoyed touring the town with the historic markers on the buildings and the park down the street. We especially enjoyed the individually prepared breakfast in the morning.

We had car troubles and we’re not able to make our reservation. I called and explained our situation, and said I know that we were past the refund date, but if there was anything they could do, that would be great. I also asked if I could get a call back to let me know what their decision was ( I did speak with a person when I called, I didn’t just leave a message) I never received a call back. That is why a terrible review. I would not have left a bad review had they called back and told me there was nothing they could do. But not returning a call when specifically asked for a call back is very poor customer service. I’m sure that lack of service from upper management flows to all service below them.

Great place, very comfortable. Location was great for us, short drive to our destination. Very friendly staff, easy to talk to and share thoughts. Breakfast was a real one, not a buffet that you get at all the chain hotels. Dinner was high quality and the fillet medallions were some of the best I've ever had. Loved everything about it; location, felt safe, The owners went above and beyond to give us everything we needed or wanted. That included ice for our cooler every day. The breakfast was the best I'd had in a long time. Especially the French toast and scrambled eggs. It was well above my expectations. Will definitely stay there when in the area again.

Great little inn, conveniently located near the Swift Run Gap entrance to Shenandoah National Park. Our room was large, clean, and cozy with a fireplace. Breakfast was great every day. The inn keepers are super nice and the staff is great for advice on the area for wineries, hiking and other interests. We really enjoyed dinner at the Restaurant.

The Lafayette is both a well-preserved and maintained historical property and high-quality restaurant. Having both of these things in one place is fantastic. My husband and I stayed overnight (celebrating our anniversary), ate dinner at the restaurant and then had breakfast there too (included in the cost of our room). It was so convenient to eat at the best restaurant in town and then head to our room…in the same building. I don’t believe I’ve ever stayed anywhere before where a high-quality, cooked-to-order sit-down restaurant breakfast was included complimentarily with the (very reasonable) cost of the room, but that was the case here. In addition to the accommodations and food being excellent, so was the service—everyone we met was so pleasant. Our server at the restaurant during dinner was particularly friendly (and very attentive). On top of it all, the inn is conventionally located close to the Shenandoah National Forest and a huge number of wineries. It’s a perfect weekend getaway and the surrounding countryside is gorgeous. Our room was very clean, and the bed was comfortable. Would recommend for sure.

Nostalgic, historic, quaint, breakfast is great, owners are sweet and thoughtful. Bathrooms need TLC. If you don’t like cats do not stay here. They keep to themselves but many many on property. Close to hiking. Not many restaurants near. Enjoy.

What a fun little find! Lovely spacious inn deep in the heart of Charlottesville wine country. Close to a number of wineries and to Charlottesville. The suite had a comfortable sitting room and a spacious bedroom. Don't miss dinner at the inn as it's amazing. Breakfast the next morning was better than any hotel breakfast I've had in years--the French toast will haunt my dreams. Definitely will be back.

This historic Inn in a very small town ( population about 400) was a lovely respite. There was ample space in the room with a full bed, private bath and sitting area with fireplace. The restaurant on site offered a very nice dinner menu and wine selection and breakfast was served st our table and complimentary. Loved everything about our stay. Very gracious hosts.

Breakfast was good, no juice offered, however. We're likely not to return because in conversation with one of the hosts "liberals" were mentioned, not in a favorable way. A footbridge in the Charlottesville area was complained about and that it's only use seemed to be for protests. In this volatile and fragile political climate, we felt uncomfortable hearing these remarks. Won't recommend or return.

The hotel was closed upon arrival and no one ever arrived. The windows were broken and there was an odor of cat urine and a dozen feral cats. We left since the hotel was closed and sought other accommodations. I will demand a full refund from Expedia and my credit card company. Filthy!

This is a historic property and was very unique old Inn. The room was clean and the owner's were very friendly especially at check-in. (Note: they do not stay on the property overnight so make sure you have what you need before they leave). The breakfast is included unfortunately I had to leave before they served at 9 so the owner made up a to-go bag for me the night before. There is also a coffee shop nearby in case you can't make the breakfast. The restaurant was excellent. The wine, meal, and dessert were 10/10. I enjoyed my stay and would stay here again.
