Buena Vista Inn Motel is a no-frills, convenient option near SUNY Delhi offering clean, quiet rooms for many guests and friendly, accommodating staff, but age shows in dated decor and occasional maintenance or temperature-control issues.
Many reviews note convenience to the village and campus, countryside views, and generally quiet nights. Cleanliness feedback is mixed, with several praising tidy rooms but others reporting odors, worn bathrooms, or housekeeping lapses. Breakfast is minimal (often lobby coffee or a packaged bag) and experiences vary. Overall, expect a basic, quiet stay suitable for short, budget-minded visits to the Delhi area.

This motel has recently changed ownership. The new owners and staff were extremely cordial and accomodating. While this is very much a work in progress, make no mistake, it is an old school motel, complete with physical room keys and key tags. The rooms were spacious and are in the process of being worked on, but they are extremely dated. I found the room to be clean and the bed was satisfactory. There was a small microwave, mini fridge, iron, and efficiency ironing board, but that was the extent of the amenities. No hair dryer or coffee maker, so bring your own! (There was a complimentary Keurig and K-cups in the office area.) The air conditioner is a window unit and undersized for the room. It took quite a while to cool the room. The surrounding area is very rural, but the main street is quaint and literally just a couple of minutes from the venue. The area hospital and the Delaware Academy school is also just a couple of minutes drive from the motel.

This hotel is slowly getting worse. I had trouble finding outlets in the room; at one point had to unplug the microwave and the whole outlet box started coming out of the wall. Another outlet was dead. Small deteriorations noted since my last visit in 2022.

The outside looked nice. Once we got in the room it was a whole different story. The floors were in very poor condition. The ceiling had water stains and looked like it was falling down. The bathroom was terrible. The door would not close all the way. The water pressure was terrible. The walls were dirty and had a lot of patches. The vanity was old and the wood finish was coming off. There was no hairdryer. There was only shampoo in the room. The curtains were see through. There were dead bugs all on the window sill. There were stains on the towels. Holes in the sheets. The one bed was awful. Every time you move all the springs made a squeaking noise. The lighting was terrible. There was a sign that said ice and soda. There was an ice machine but no soda machine. The staff were very nice and friendly but that doesn't make up for the room at all!!!

The exterior has been recently painted. The interior is ok, except that the baseboard heaters are a bit beaten up.

Our experience was good. The room was clean, however it just has a distinct smell nothing you can’t handle and i imagine is because is an older motel. The downside to it is that there is not even muffins or donuts in the morning, only coffee and tea but the water was kind of funky looking. Other than that, the reception was pleasant and quick to get us our room.

Check in was smooth and cordial. Coffee/tea in the lobby. No frills. Back in the day motel, in the middle of nowhere, in the process of upgrade, and its more than adequate to get cool, clean up and get a comfortable night's sleep. Rm 116 was new and old and that was fine. Beds new. BR upgraded. Floor new. Flat screen TV. Smoke detector. You could even sit out in front of the door for some air, if you wanted. I'd go back.

This stay was comfortable and quiet. The coffee was fresh and the linens clean. The single room we stayed in felt like a small form room. Next time, we would get the double queen room for more space. Shower was clean and warm but very small. The hotel was full of guests and we still never heard a sound. The microwave and refrigerator was a blessing. It is a great choice if you need to stay in the Delhi area

We got in about 20 minutes before the front counter closed for the night in October. It's getting darker earlier and much colder at night. Our room was nice and toasty when we checked in and got to our room. There was an in room iron and board which was convenient. The guy at the front desk was friendly.

Not many hotel options in this part of the Catskills and the Buena Vista served its purpose. Clean room, polite workers at check-in, easy to check out. A refrigerator and ice machine that worked, clean bathroom with soap and shampoo, and a comfortable bed. Would stay here again.

I didn't like the smell of the place. The lobby and room both smell of overly sprayed room spray. The mini fridge was pretty noisy. The window was open at the top and I didn't notice until the morning. I had put the air conditioner on but it didn't really cool the room, not sure if it was because the window was open.

An old motel. On the bright side when we realized we had forgotten toothpaste i suggested my husband ask if the management had some. He was given 2 small tubes and asked if we needed toothbrushes. We did not, but we really appreciated the toothpaste. We went out for breakfast to the amazing Delhi Diner and took the bagged breakfast for the trip home. It was perfectly situated for our purpose. A music festival in Bloomville. The housekeeper was charming.

What a great place to stay in this area. The owners were so nice, welcoming and everything was clean. They even give you a great breakfast bag. Really happy I stayed here.

Perfect, for a small, independent motel. Looks like it’s a family run motel and it’s a large family. It means there’s always someone available to help if anything comes up. A Keurig coffee machine is in the lobby and the rooms are big with an armoire and a big chest of drawers. Towels are not thread-bare and shampoo and body wash are provided. The roll of paper towels in the room was a nice tough, and hugely appreciated!
