Holiday Inn Express Dubai Airport Hotel

What guests think

At Holiday Inn Express Dubai Airport by IHG, travellers praise the convenient location near DXB and complimentary shuttle, clean rooms, and friendly staff, while recurring criticisms include inconsistent housekeeping, cigarette odors, dated facilities, and occasional congestion or delays at check‑in.

The hotel is very close to Terminals 1 and 3 but not walkable; a free shuttle runs about every 30 minutes, though guests report delays and that Terminal 2 is typically not served. Breakfast often earns compliments for variety and value, though some found items lukewarm, the venue crowded, or service ending sharply at closing time. Rooms are simple and dated with occasional maintenance or noise issues, but many consider them fine for a short layover. Overall, expect a practical airport stopover rather than a destination stay.

Hotel near airport, but cannot walk across the highway to the airport. You need to take the free shuttle to airport. T3 stopping point is easy to find but T1 is difficult. Many people smoke in front of the hotel main entrance, management should consider setup a smoking area beside the hotel.

It was a little confusing to find the hotel shuttle from the airport (not Holiday Inns problem) as signage was poor on the outside of terminal 3 (go up a flight of stairs to departures and then all the way to one end. Had to wait 45 minutes for the shuttle.

It was very convenient with the shuttle bus from the airport. It was easy to find and it runs every 30 minutes. The room was good and quiet. We had breakfast around 9-9.30. It was ok, but the restaurant was extremely noisy and crowded. They didn’t fill up food , especially in the end of the breakfast time. 10 o’clock they took away everything. Anyhow it was good value for money. Next time we will have breakfast earlier.

On the shuttle to the airport, the other guests' luggates were thrown out of the card behind the shuttle. The shuttles themselves didn't come on time and in cases were cancelled without any announce as such, leaving the guests waiting unadvised for 45-50 minutes, when the shuttle had been originally advised to depart every 30 minutes 24/7.

I have stayed here on several occasions- it’s cheap (cost) The room was clean but had obviously just been painted. The paint smell was quite powerful but with a midnight check in I could not be bothered to go back to reception to request a room change. Staff are fantastic and very helpful and polite. Courtesy bus is very hit and miss. Not something to rely on. Breakfast is very good. It’s mainly the transport that lets it down, and the fact a quality assurance on the room (I assume one happened) thought it was acceptable with the smell.

My party reserved a room to be closer to the airport and to rest before taking a late-night flight from Dubai. Upon arrival, I went to the front desk to give my name/passport to begin the check-in process. The lady sighed very loudly and rudely said "I cannot do ANYTHING until I have passports from everyone in your party". This was the start of the unprofessional behavior and tone that we experienced during our short time there. The security overseeing the property was speaking rudely to other patrons as they attempted to get carts and bring in their luggage (the front drive is a very short, narrow, circular drive). Once we got to the room, it was dark and some of the lighting did not work. The room had a musty smell, worn furniture, and the sofa couch had visible stains. We decided to check out of the hotel after less than an hour. We opted to just sit in the airport until it was time for our flight.

I waited for 2 hours for the transfer to arrive although I had requested when I booked the hotel. I called the hotel 4 times to make sure the shuttle would be coming.. only after that it arrived. While I waited I saw Premier and Rove’s hotel shuttles about 3 times each. And when I finally arrived after 1am , I had to wait for about 40minutes to check in as there were about 30 guests to be checked in unorganized lines.

Everything was good except for the information about airport transportation. The site mentioned that a shuttle was available from Airport to Hotel Transportation, but when I arrived at the airport, I couldn’t find it. I called the hotel front desk and was informed that the shuttle does not operate from Terminal 2. As a result, I had to rent a taxi and pay out of pocket. The property should display accurate information on the Expedia site, and the Expedia team should also verify the details provided.

Let's be clear. Expedia says you can walk from the airport to the hotel. You can not. I checked with reception staff and they laughed at the idea. Why is this important? Because being a short walk from the terminal was pretty much the main reason I chose the hotel. :-/ The hotel itself was okay. I found it very noisy. It does have a bar which was nice.

Dessert bar messy and not a good presentation The restaurant staff were few and could not keep up. No clean utensils in buffet. Water on the floor where I almost slip by the water station. Slow to clean it up due to waiting for someone in maintenance to come instead of them putting a sign or cleaning with a towel. I did like the clean and safe parking lot very much for my rental car.
