What guests think

At Fairfield Inn & Suites by Marriott New Braunfels, travelers frequently praise the convenient I-35 location and consistently good complimentary breakfast, while noting occasional room noise, worn bathroom maintenance, and inconsistent cleanliness that includes pests.

Room comfort is mixed, with some guests finding beds very comfortable while others report hard or sagging mattresses and humidity from AC. Families like the indoor pool, though multiple reviews mention a cold or nonfunctional hot tub and limited pool-area upkeep. Service is widely described as friendly and helpful, but there are isolated complaints about rude check-in, reservation mix-ups, slow housekeeping, and accessibility promises not being met. Overall, expect a solid mid-range stay with some trade-offs.

Friendly and accommodating. The room was comfortable and clean! Parking could have been better. Need more up front handicapped spots. Breakfast was good and the dining area is also very well maintained. The snack room was neatly empty; but in their defense we arrived on a Sunday evening in the height of summer activities so they probably didn’t have time to restock. I would recommend this location!

Room was clean. Staff were friendly and helpful. Pool did not have any clean towels and closed at 10:00. Little later would have been nice. Could hear stomping above us and in the hall and talking in the hall. Staff took my concerns seriously when mentioned smelling cigarette smoke next to our room and got back with me about it.

We had such a great stay at the Fairfield! The staff was wonderful, especially the concierge, Belen, who was so nice and helpful throughout our stay. Our room was spotless, and the beds were incredibly comfortable. The breakfast was fresh and delicious every morning. We also appreciated the 12 PM checkout time—it gave us a relaxing morning before heading out. The pool was a hit with our kids, and the board games in the lobby were a fun bonus that kept them entertained. Highly recommend!

We stayed 2 nites, Nice large room w/fridge & microwave. Lack of attention to cleanliness detail. The exterior of the shower frame was quite nasty as was the door jam of the bath. Just wiping it down would've improved it, Also, the shower door would not stay closed and that soaked the fIoor. I did let the front desk know this (room 321). Good breakfast. Warnings posted to guests for vehicle contents theft. Why not partner with the other hotel on property & hire a security guard, This is better then warning your guests, it shows you are pro-active, Hotel is on the frontage road with alot of things to do in the area. Overall, a good stay and I would come back.

The property is well kept and the staff is friendly. They comped us an extra room since they had overbooked the style of room that we originally booked. This ended up being a really good thing as one of our rooms was musty and mildewy smelling which caused my asthma to react. The other room was fine as far as smell went. The rooms were relatively clean. I found hairs in several spots in the bathroom by the shower and door in our room. The other room had some black ash like substance on the bedspread and there was a hair on my daughter’s “clean” towel. All in all, it was fine. I would look elsewhere if I booked again though.

The good...Quick access to I35, breakfast was good and was continually managed/stocked until 9 am....and that\'s where the "good" stops..... The bad? Overly curt staff, the illusion of cleanliness in our room until you take a second look (trash behind the pull-out couch, "holes" in the bathroom doorknob that were stuffed with toilet paper so a person wouldn\'t be able to peek in, clothes left in the wardrobe....and most notably, the THREE INCH ROACH that was climbing up the wall when we were about to go to breakfast. Two thumbs down, definitely would NOT recommend. Never, ever staying there again.

We booked a room at the last minute, the last room available. We got to sleep at 1am, and the noise began at 6am and would not stop. Unbeknownst to us, our first floor room to the right just right the dining area was also right next to their pantry closet. The meal staff repeatedly banged pans and slammed that door so loud we could not go back to sleep. I work long hours during the week, and thought we'd be sleeping in until 9 at least. Instead, we got at most 5 hours. At our age, too little sleep can affect our blood pressure and concentration as we had to drive back to the Houston area in the afternoon.

Firstly, I travel to a lot of hotels every year. I usually like to stay in Fairfield’s because of the quality you get. This one though has the Most uncomfortable bed and pillows I’ve ever slept on. My neck and back hurt from trying to sleep. Honestly did more tossing and turning then sleep. The sheets also don’t fit the bed and come off the bed it you turn at all. There is a very loud noice coming from the middle of the wall that also keeps you up. The shower you can tell it doesn’t get properly cleaned. The air took forever to finally cool the room. Then the breakfast taste like days before cooked. Seems no one wants to eat cause everything sat there for at least 45 minutes while we are the only ones eating. The whole reason I stay in these is for the comfort and breakfast. I would rather spend less on a hotel then come to this one. Fairfield really disappointed me this time.
