Location location location. Right on the boardwalk. Room had view of ocean. Small pool area with cold unheated pool but nice view of beach. Servers poorly trained and not very proactive. Given a salad without a fork/napkin and had to ask three times to get it. Seated at a table for breakfast where the floor had crumbs from prior guests. Internet hard to connect to. But…you are right on the boardwalk and beach so in that sense it’s great. Worst part was the a/c in the room. Too strong. I like sleeping cool but this was freezing. No extra blankets. Had to finally turn on the heat to 75 to get some sleep.

Had a great stay! Only thing I can say is the pool could have been warmer and clearer. Other than that it was great. Restaurant had very good food for dinner and breakfast!

Only option to stay right on the boardwalk in Long Beach. For the price, Allegria is okay. We had a discounted price (only way we could afford to stay) since it was off season and they were renovating/painting outside of building (which was not an issue and did not affect our stay). Nothing the hotel could do about this, but we had an interior room with window facing across the other side of the building and there were so many pigeons and pigeon droppings on the outside of our window. It was gross so we just kept the curtains closed. Our toilet ran all night the first night, but the next day we asked for it to be fixed while we were out and they promptly fixed it. Restaurant is nice with nice view of ocean but service was poor. We waited an entire hour to get our breakfast. Had to flag our server down to get her attention. All this being said, Allegria is located right on the boardwalk of Long Beach. Just a few blocks from the Long Island Railroad into NYC. Cannot beat the location. The front desk staff was great. I guess because it is a pretty expensive hotel, I expected top notch in every single category so I am a little more critical.

Employees were great, room was ok, smelled like sea water and bed was super firm but still ok. Parking was a joke. All the public spots get taken by beach goers so unless youre luck you have to valet your car which is 50 bucks a day. Youd think it would be included with how expensive rooms are. But out of the 2 hotels in long beach its the better option.

Great location right on the beach. Was a little confused by instructions on how to access the amenities (beach, pool, etc). Would have preferred to have been given a sheet of paper or have something in the room with the info. It was hard to remember it all and the front desk stayed busy so it took waiting in line to ask questions. Pool was out of towels for the entire hour+ we were there. But pool was nice. View from roof top was fantastic. Room was clean, smart set up for coming from beach. Would definitely stay again.

Property needs sprucing up, pool didn’t work, bathroom fixtures were wobbly, window frames show signs of rust. It is very dated. Needs updating. Staff are friendly but very slow. Some of Gym equipments were out of order. Again needs to maintenance.

Closed pool within 2 hours of arrival for a wedding. They make a hot ge deal about the pool and the pictures on the website are deceptive. But to not allow me access to the one amenity that they had was unacceptable.

Was so excited to stay here as we heard great things and it is right in front of the beach. Unfortunately, it didn’t live up to expectations or the money spent. The room was very dirty, visible stains on the carpet, sheets and even hair on the shower walls. Great for the location but felt we needed to immediately shower after we left.

The hotel is right on the beach and also has a pool. The room was not as clean or user friendly as I would expect for this price range. Light bulbs were out, the hand cream dispenser was empty, the shower didn't drain, there were cracks and mold in the shower. The pool had clearly not been cleaned in while either. But the bed was comfy and the staff friendly. One thing we noticed that was there were loud bangs coming from nearby rooms. Not sure why but they caused a few jump scares.

This was rhe dirtyliest hotel Ive been to in a long time. This is easily a 1 star hotel which was run down, refrigeartor that looked like it fell off a truck and rolled down the block. The light switches were filthy, hair in the shower with missing and dorty grout, bars falling off the wall, headboard that was stained and chips and damaged to the walls all over the room. At first I thought it was a housekeeping issue, because when I asked them to clean the room, there was a hairclip on the floor when I walked in, but its definitely a management/ownership problem. The shower had no pressure and the showerheads were filthy. You cannot charge premium rates for a run down hotel. Lastly, the rug coming into the hotel was soaking wet and their was dog crap in the front, I guess that's apropos though! I would never recommend anyone stay at this hotel, just for the lack of cleanliness alone in addition to the $50 per day parking fee (btw, one day my car was parked on the street) and the failing amentities too. In the morning the coffee machine wasnt working, so I had to walk a few blocks to Starbucks. Everything about this stay was disappointing. If I could have slept in a hazmat suit, I would have. When Im back in the area I will definitely avoid this hotel,and I suggest you fo too. This was just a terrible experience, hopefully you choose another hotel so you wont have to go through the same experience.

The location on the beach must be why this hotel charges so much. We stayed for 3 nights and our bill was almost $2000, not including any charges at the restaurant. The location is great, but the hotel is not. The room had a horrible moldy smell. Maybe that's just because of the proximity to the beach. I'm pretty sure they were turning off the A/C at night. There was no way for us to adjust the temperature, and we couldn't open the windows. The internet was very slow, which was a problem because my husband had to do some work from the room. They have valet parking, but when we got there to check in, there was no valet. We had to go inside and wait for someone to find him. No one offered to take our bags to our room. We never had dinner at their restaurant because all of the reviews were so bad. We did have breakfast one morning. I ordered a bagel and they brought me what looked like a toasted hamburger bun. The waitress said it was a "New York Style" bagel. I grew up on Long Island, and that is not the kind of bagel I remember. It was nice to stay right on the boardwalk, but I think we will try another hotel if we go back.

Clean

The room was not as clean as I would have expected. There was almost no shampoo in the dispenser, there was a crack in the tile of the shower floor and the beds were AWFUL. Imagine if you will a bag of lumpy rocks... also check in is at 4pm we were told the pool closes at 5pm but we were charged the ammenity fee. The staff was wonderful however and we enjoyed a good dinner at the hotel's restaurant.

Our original room had no air conditioning. We were moved to a much smaller room. The water was brown and smelled like chlorinea. We couldnt even brush our teeth.

We stayed at the Allegria and loved it. The 8th floor with floor-to-ceiling windows was incredible. Now, the one caveat: at 7:30 AM, the rooftop turns into an outdoor nightclub disguised as a fitness class. Extremely loud music that shakes the entire 8th floor and wakes you up if you’re trying to sleep in. We had a sound machine that did nothing. It’s a repetitive bass beat that turns the room into a subwoofer, shaking the glass shelves and lamps. Easily fixable. Use normal music or no music at all, or maybe push class start time back so guests can actually enjoy those stunning sunrises without an involuntary EDM rave. Until then, pack earplugs or join the class, because either way you’ll be moving at 7:30 AM sharp. Still, a beautiful hotel and worth the stay.

The location is extremely convenient and the rooms are comfortable. The room needed some maintenance - paint was peeling on the ceiling, carpet had some stains. The staff was also not that helpful (except for Nelly with the chairs who was great). I’d go back just because of the of the location.

The room given was renovated with platform beds. The problem is the matress is short about 4 inches. Not sure if this was the interior design intention /for style purposes- but it’s poorly done. As a result of this visible gap /ledge I banged my chin numerous times. To which I had to put a chair on the more bed prominent corner to avoid inadvertently bumping into this sharp corner (bruised shin). Informed the front desk team of my concern with this problem. It was comparable to talking to a robot. Very disappointing 👎

We really enjoyed our stay, lovely room, excellent facilities and very friendly, helpful staff and ideal location.

Hotel website advises of renovations. They fail on the extent. The rear of the hotel appears to be getting an entire facade face lift. Ocean view was totally obstructed by scaffolding and my wife and I were woken up to drilling into the building right outside our room. Have to keep drapes shut as workers are walking by.

The room was spacious, although not large by recent standards. There was no desk or table, although obvious one or the other was there before, which made it impossible to work or eat. The other tables were extremely small with virtually no room to set things down. The windows did not open making the Ocean less enjoyable. No fan in the bathroom and again virtually no room for personal items. Room smelled a little stale.

Overall, the hotel was nice, clean, but the room we stayed was dusty, the windows were locked , we weren’t able to open in the morning to get fresh air… The food at the restaurant was ok… the presentation of the food could be better since it is a restaurant… I would not go given second chances.. food and cleanness is my top priority.

I really liked the hotel. I was here for a wedding. It was comfortable, water was hot. Bathroom was great. My big issue was I could hear the kids in the next room. The walls are not very sound proof. It made it hard to sleep. Otherwise would be a 5 star

Bed was comfy and room was big but very basic and dated. Walls were dirty. Attended a wedding, there was supposed to be a pre-booked after party, but the hotel had forgotten to book staff for the event. After a lot of negotiation and excessive cash being exchanged the bar remained open (bar staff were great, night manager seemed to be the problem). Fire alarm went off at 4.30am, everyone evacuated, told that it was a known faulty connection, 40mins later it went off again. Lifts were not restored and the emergency exits had locked. No staff present to assist people getting back to the rooms. No sign of compensation either, perhaps a complimentary breakfast at a minimum would have made sense for a known fault. Breakfast is pretty average

This was a last minute family trip. I have to say that the staff at the front desk was amazing. Thank you so much to Sharon, Hadigah and Marsha that made sure that we had everything we needed and accommodated us. From upgrade request to late check out (last minute). You are the best!. The hotel is beautiful, clean, amazing view and great customer service. We can't wait to return. Thanks again

I booked this hotel after my flight was delayed. I arrived at the hotel to complete chaos in the lobby. After waiting 2 hrs for my room the hotel canceled my reservation along with 6 other people. By this time it was around midnight and all hotels were sold out which meant me and the others stayed the night at JFK. The hotel not only canceled my room but charged me $250. I have tried to contact the hotel multiple times and so has Travelocity to get my money back and the manager does not care or return calls. Do not stay here.

Hotel staff have very poor experience to serve people as a hotel service ,I keep asking for baby crib no body wants to help me until my daughter falls then next day we got the crib after one day struggling after that they Paramus me to get one day refund then never got my refund they are not honest . also we have waited 3 hours first day to get breakfast for kids waiting in the restaurant . nice view clean water but bad service

clean room and easy check out. otherwise no one talks to you. Expect extra charges for everything including what you do not use. my extra charges added almost 100% to my bill.

The view from oceanfront room was fantastic. Front desk staffer Sharon was great —5/5. The Atlantica restaurant was not a good experience. Serving our reservation party of 14, the meals came to table 1 at a time, taking 1.5 hours to complete our dinner orders. The last to arrive was a child’s hotdog. That little girl should NOT have had to wait for the adults to be finished before she got her frank 😟

Service was slow at the breakfast, drinks and overall. I come from the retail industry and this was not good customer service. Waiters never look up to see if you need them.

Staff were not good

The customer care service is some of the best we have experienced. We had an emergency come up and the staff was more than accommodating. We really can't recommend Allegria enough. Thank you truly for your hospitality.

I was sent downstairs by this security guard Cynthia for a third pool pass. While I was gone, I received a frantic call from my daughter crying and panicked. the guard was screaming at them, claiming it was “her pool” and that she was “their superior.” She then forced them out without allowing them to grab towels, leaving them wet, cold, and humiliated in 50-degree weather. My girls were in tears and terrified. When I confronted the guard, I recorded the interaction. She was aggressive, loud, and unprofessional, with me showing no remorse and escalating .this person should never be in a position of authority, especially around children and I hope this person was fired

10/10 hotel, skip the food. This hotel is a gem! Firstly, the location is perfect - a very short walk from the train station, right on the boardwalk, and next to an ice cream stand. Stayed in a partial beach view room, which had an amazing view of both the beach and the NYC skyline in the distance, which was incredible at sunset. Would definitely take this over a room directly facing the beach! Room was very clean, as was the bathroom. Hotel staff were very kind and accommodating. The pool, though quite busy on a summer weekend, was great. Be sure to get there early if you want a lounge chair. And definitely BYOB and bring your own food, because the bar at the pool was pretty atrocious. My wife and I ordered salads, which came without dressing. When we requested dressing (for our different salads), the server returned with two cups of salsa. Drinks weren't much better - very sad selection of canned domestic macro factory beers (save for one excellent local IPA), no wine, and poorly made cocktails - my wife's strawberry daquiri was clearly made with undiluted mixer concentrate! Breakfast at the main restaurant wasn't much better - slow, expensive, and pretty underwhelming, though the server was extremely nice. The mezzanine bar was quite lively at night, and had a good selection of cocktails, draft beer, and wine. Would absolutely stay here again!

Location

Location to the beach/ boardwalk was incredible. 10 minute walk to restaurants and the train station. Hotel is clean and quiet. Hotel restaurant was really delicious and affordable. Only issue was the lack of parking. Hotel has no parking for guests. Had to fight for parking with local residents and beach goer’s. Would stay there again

It was a great hotel in a great location

The location was perfect. Every staff member I interacted with was courteous and helpful. The room was clean and comfortable. I would definitely stay there again.

The ocean view room was excellent. We went after Labor Day and had free parking on the street every night. The hotel has chairs and towels for the beach, which was easily accessible. Several great restaurants within walking distance.

My only complaint is that when you are seated for breakfast, the hostess should tell you the price of the buffet per person before deciding if you want to choose the buffet or see a menu. Online it only says "offers paid breakfast daily", For $30 per person plus tax and tip for a mediocre buffet, I would of rather seen the menu.

The location is excellent. The conditions of the rooms are good. The dining restaurant is very poor. The bar and entertainment are very good . The value is good only after the season when the rooms are priced reasonable

Service at the restaurant/bar was terrible. TV in room was cheap and terrible screen. Seems like you want to be high end but lots of ways to go.

The hotel was clean and very convenient to the beach and boardwalk. The restaurant was terrible. The food was ok. However, breakfast took an hour and a half. Went back in the evening, ordered 2 drinks, it took a half hour and both drinks came out wrong. Then we ordered an appetizer (steak egg rolls) they took 40 minutes to come out and the waitress dropped one on the floor. They brought out an extra one 10 minutes later and it was cold inside. Would not use the restaurant again.
