My family and I stayed for 4 nights and 5 days. We enjoyed the full kitchen because we could cook the groceries that we bought saving some money from constantly eating out. We were impressed with the variety and quality of options for their complimentary breakfast. The staff are all very helpful when we need to borrow things we suddwnly needed. Their outdoor pool was closed but we were allowed to use the indoor pool of Fairfield Suites which is just a couple of minutes walk. We had a fantastic stay and next time we go to Bloomington, we are definitely staying athe TownePlace again.

When we vacated our other Bloomington hotel due to unacceptable condition, we had limited options. This hotel was very welcoming: a truly lovely staff. The 3-star score is only that low because we had one of the unrenovated rooms and it was quite dated and the sofa(bed) upholstery and seat cushions were in bad shape. Pros( in addition to the staff): clean facility and room with comfortable bathroom and kitchen, good TV. Surprisingly quiet and convenient location. Perfectly nice comp hot breakfast. Really nice, clean little pool helped us decompress. I would gladly return but request a renovated room.

The pool water was way too cold and the stove barely worked which defeated the purpose of going. But it was still a good time. Plus the room was very clean.

I don't think I could have gotten more for my money. This is an older property so it's a little frayed in places, but the hardworking (yes, I watched them) staff keep it clean and tidy as possible. I found all of the staff members to be helpful and courteous.I was left with a warm feeling when I checked out.

The hotel is in desperate need of updates. Floors, both carpet and laminate were filthy. The air conditioner was so loud you could not sleep. I had to ask for anything I needed, including cleaning the room. We stayed a month and they only came around twice to see what we needed. They had two fire drills, which we were not notified prior, which scared my doggie terribly. The pool was not open at all, due to “a crack in the concrete”. There is nowhere to sit outside. The landscaping is deplorable. The side door was left unlocked the entire time so anyone could walk in. The breakfast was rarely ready on time. They charged us $300 for my small dog to stay, which they did not have to clean up after inside or out. There is no refund for a reason, once we got here and saw the unacceptable state of this hotel, it was too late to leave. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone, human or animal.

Although the employers were very nice the hotel is extremely dated. I recognize it was graduation weekend but we paid well over $800 for what should have cost less than $100.

Room 302 was terrible. It stunk so badly that even after the windows were opened and a fan was circulating that room for 8 hours it still smelled so bad. The sheets smelled bad, pillows, and towels too. I assume it's probably in the carpet too. One of the bath towels was also dirty, and so was a wash cloth. Friendly and patient staff. All the other rooms were great! We will be back! Breakfast was great! I bought 5 rooms and 4/5 were great! Thank you for hosting us!

moldy shower curtain, the rooms smelled moldy and the caulking was all old and cracked. They price gauged because of the university. Graduation was $700 another time over $300 and the toilets didn't work.

We stayed 7 days and never got the room cleaned, even though there was supposed to be housekeeping every other day. We asked twice to have the room cleaned and to get fresh towels: once the trash was dumped and we got towels, but the second time we were told no - we did get towels but were given a trash bag and told where to put our trash. I never imagined staying 7 days in a hotel and never getting fresh sheets or having the room cleaned. First and last time staying here.

For the price of the room, this hotel was good. Convenient off the highway with food options within walking and driving distance. Rooms could be updated but they were clean. Staff was very nice & friendly.

Staff was nice. Room was clean but very well used. Sofa couch looks like it had been there since 1970s. whole establishment needs to be redone. Very old and creepy vibes. Hallway odorous. Next to a noisy freeway. Would definitely not stay again.

Not much to say. The Mainstay Inn was old and not well maintained. I sat in a chair in our room and a nail that was sticking out tore my slacks. When I told the clerk his response was “sorry”. I would not recommend this hotel.

This was a very overpriced stay. The carpet was wet for some reason, the door jam came off everytime you opened the main door, the curtains had holes in them, there was a mysterious switch on the wall by the ceiling, everything was just dirty. Definitely not worth the money.

This hotel was perfect to stay in after moving our daughter into IU all day. The bed was very comfortable, parking was great, good location. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The hotel is older and could use some upgrades, but overall it was clean and I don’t have any complaints.
