What guests think

At Wingate by Wyndham Lafayette Airport, travelers frequently praise the friendly staff, comfortable beds, and convenient location near the airport, while reviews also note recurring maintenance problems that affect certain rooms and amenities.

Cleanliness feedback is mixed, with many noting very clean rooms but others reporting damp carpets, mold or mildew smells, pests, and inconsistent housekeeping. Facilities draw mixed reactions: the free airport shuttle is appreciated, but the hot tub is often out of service and construction has temporarily closed or limited some areas and equipment. Breakfast is generally well liked though sometimes cold or understocked, and noise from thin walls or common areas affects some stays. If you turned light off. Electrical sockets would go off. So had to sleep with hall way light on. Only ice machine working was on first floor. I was on third. The third floor smelled like urine.

The stAff was friendly but there were way too many issues with the elevator which kept my mom stuck on the 2nd floor a few times missing some commitment we had. The floor by the AC was soaking wet due to the AC and the bedroom phone was not working.

My husband and I chose this hotel because of the hot tub which is COLD. He's a truck driver coming off of a truck and wanted to relax. Apparently the tub has been broken and left unrepaired for a while now but was not disclosed anywhere. Coffee was cold and later completely unavailable.

The hot tub was broken and has been broken for weeks. The receptionist Mrs Diamond said the repair people know about it and have been back and forth for weeks now. So i dont blame the staff at all for that. My son forgot his pillow and Mrs Diamond got the pillow out of our room after we checked out and saved it at the front deck until we were able to pick it up. She is extremely nice and we really appreciate her. She also got us extra blankets and brought them to our room the night before. The cook made awesome cookies that were amazing and left out at the front desk. The breakfast was also very good! The hotel staff were exceptional in my opinion. I definitely plan on staying there again. Just hope the hot tub will be repaired by then.

Me and my family traveled here from out of state to stay for the weekend. Bed sheets and pillows were nasty , hair and brown stains on items. I spoke to front desk associate , all she did was said she couldn’t believe it and gave new sheets and pillow cases. Bathroom also was nasty , carpet had a smell . Very dissatisfied with it all together.

Our room had mold all over. On the chair, all over the bathroom and even on the ice bucket. . Looked like there had been a water leak on the ceiling. Mt room was on the 2nd floor. Also there was a mechanical room door inside of my room that made me feel uncomfortable. The toilet pipes clanked and hammered all night.

Room was dirty. Liquid on bed side tables and stains on bed. Front desk said they might’ve sprayed but forgot to wipe but there was no residue from any cleaning materials. If they didn’t notice the mess on the bed side table they most likely didn’t change bed sheets that would explain the stains. Had to get another room which was a downgrade from what I paid. Being it was so late I didn’t have the time or energy for any of it.

The hotel was clean and staff was super friendly. The only issue I had was the noise. I could hear the man in the next room snoring and I’m fairly certain the room above me was tented to a herd of elephants. The stomping sounds were rediculous. does no one do sound proofing in hotels anymore?

TV didn’t work most of my stay. I was told maintenance had been called and would be up to fix it. Nobody came and I was never notified of anything different. Having a TV not work isn’t the biggest concern of mine, but lack of communication and no effort to make anything right is.

Hole in the ceiling. The television wouldn't work. I had just buried my Mom that day. I wanted a nice place to stay before driving 5 hours back to my home. Also the walls are very thin. You heard every normal speaking conversation people having, their conversation at 2am when they came home and then the morning sounded like something out of a chapter from 50 shades of gray The refrigerators condenser had leaked all over the capeting carpet it sits on. That was very wet.

I see that I had a similar issue to others. I made a reservation but was then called the morning I was supposed to check in and was told there were no rooms. They found a room for me at the Best Western down the street. Definitely a lesser hotel but almost the same price. I've stayed at this hotel on many occasions and have been completely satisfied. I will probably be looking for another hotel when I have to travel here in the future for fear this will happen again.

Horrible!!! I got towels and trash changed once out of my 6 day stay at this hotel. Needed clean wash cloths i was told there wasn’t any. Fine i was still nice and said okay things happen. My card got was disabled 3 times and i was not able to access my room or side doors. At 5 am i left my room not knowing my key wouldn’t work because i got it activated again earlier that day . Came back to the hotel i was locked out of my room no access to any other door no workers in sight! Maybe 15 minutes later the workers pull up in the work van walking in laughing like they went for a joy ride ! Literally no one supervising the front desk ! Horrible experience

Post renovations it seems the quality of the hotel has gone down. I had stayed here multiple time before and always had a wonderful experience. This time however was less than satisfactory. Me and my girlfriend arrived and there was no one at the front desk. Called the number and waited for half an hour before the clerk arrived. Then once he arrived, it took awhile them while to find the reservation. I assume he was new as he charged $85 to my debit card even though I had the reservation and booking confirmation available. The first room we reserved had a table that was broken and laying upon the floor. Went down stairs back to reception and showed them the pictures. We were setup in an adjoining room that was in much better condition (even though the TV did not work...) Needless to say, not the best experience all things considered. I have stayed at this hotel multiple times previously in the area and never had such an egregious experience before.

Hotel itself was good with clean rooms and all the standard amenities. The staff was nice and the surrounding area appeared safe. Wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again. Breakfast had good selection (pancake machine, eggs, sausage links/patties, cereal, yogurt dispenser). It seemed like most of my meal was cold as maybe getting there right when things opened hadn’t given the sausage/eggs time to heat up in their serving containers? Coffee was on the low end of decent - but only if you used the individually packaged creamers and not the larger pumps they had (and one was empty already at 7am). We ended up stopping at the Starbucks down the street after we checked out.
