Stayed 1 night

I arrived shortly after 3 pm to check in. There was no one at the front desk. I waited several minutes. Then I noticed a kiosk. I’ve never used a kiosk to check in but that would not have mattered because apparently it wasn’t working. I returned back to the counter a few minutes later someone came to check me in. We returned a few hours later. There was no one at the counter. Normally at Comfort inn there is someone always available. It’s one of the reasons I book with them it feels safer. The snack area was not stocked. It had a few chip bags and very limited drinks. The was up to date with room requirements. Beautiful lighting white bedding bathrooms remodeled love the black out blinds. But the beds did not have the pillow top mattress covers making the beds uncomfortable. The blankets were not the bigger comfort style . They were soft but thin. Now this reason alone is why I will NEVER go to this location again. The pool is right outside the breakfast area. There was a big red sign on the door that said Pool closed by order from the Springfield Health Department. The pool was green nasty & uncovered. It was obvious it has not been working for a long time. The pool was also accessible from the outside anyone or pets could easily fall in it. The nasty water was low. Even though at this time of year the pool would be closed it’s a major safety issues. It makes me wonder what else could be a hazard that I can’t see.

Getting Ice was a major problem during our entire stay. They only have 2 machines for the entire hotel and they were out of ice or very low everytime we tried to get some. They need one or 2 additonal machines. The Roku TV was set on closed captioning and generic remote would not let us turn it off. Desk clerk came up and attempted to do it, but had to go get numerous remotes and finally found a true Roku remote that would work the TV. He was very helpful, but it was time consuming when we just wanted to relax and watch TV before bed.
