Days Inn by Wyndham Lexington

Overall the place is alright and I've stayed a couple times while visiting family in this area. Rooms are generally clean if not a little dated. We had specifically asked and paid for a smoke free room but when we arrived the room smelled heavily of cigarettes. The ac barely worked and it was very hot in the room the entire time but we let both of these things go. What gives it this rating is I got woken up before 8am to house keeping pounding on my door, they wanted us to move our car because they were painting the parking lot annoying but okay whatever. They had already had us move our car two days prior to do something else to the parking lot, which again was annoying but its got to get done sometime so we also let this go. What really set me off was at 9:30am the same day, check out is 11am for context, house keeping is knocking on my door again, they knock once and before I could get to the door without warning they open it and try to get in my room without announcing who they are. I barely get to the door in enough time to prevent them from opening it, maybe 10 seconds has elapsed since their first and only knock at this point. It was only once I body blocked them from coming in they asked if anyone was in there and if we were leaving. They did this the last time I stayed too but, it was much closer to 11am and I assumed it was just an overly eager house keeper. But now that this has happened twice months apart I assume this is common practice. It is truly beyond me why

Everything was amazing. Staff was very friendly

The staff was friendly, but there seem to be a lot of confusion at check-in. The sweet lady at the desk didn't know how to use a computer, and the other girl was in training. The room they gave me was not clean, as in beer bottles, fast food bags, beds, unmade. The office explained they were changing out all the mattresses, which is a good thing. But I opted to cancel my reservation.

Everything was great except the beds were really high on top of these metal boxes and when you got down from them you would often hit the box with your feet making a loud banging noise (like a gong). We first heard the noise from outside our room and then discovered what it was when we got out of bed.

Dirty property, uncaring staff, and "Continental Breakfast" was disappointing as it's only a couple granola bars and bad coffee.
