Baymont by Wyndham Newark/Wilmington

They’re renovating the property and using really nice finishing materials. The beds are new and super comfy. Nice big showers and while simple and efficient, i couldn’t have asked for anything nicer. I’m very pleased with my stay here.

Its a Hotel 6………. Pros…. Clean, friendly staff, Popeyes Chicken nxt door. Cons…… old, stinks, lots of broken things in room, pillows are smaller than a wafer cookie, front desk has no access to housekeeping after they leave. So if you ask front desk for anything its a NO!! Like i said its a Hotel 6…. Although if the Manager had a better work ethic, this could be a nicer, better run Hotel 6. Alot of little things a good Manager should care to fix or replace.

Room was very nice but outside property could use some upgrades.

Property was clean and everything worked. No issues with room. It was just very basic. One table w/chair and two bedside stands were all the furniture provided. Electrical outlets were all covered except one in bathroom and one being used for fridge/microwave - so had to charge phones in bathroom. Smoke detector was covered with a cage. Bathroom cabinets were all screwed closed. Not sure if all of this was done for security?? We did not have any issues but found it odd.

The room was “remodeled” and clean. So was the bathroom but the work was very shoddy and user needs and convenience was not considered. Construction debris was throughout the parking lot. And finally, upon arrival, I was asked to give a $100 deposit which I was unaware of, and I had paid for the room, in full almost a month in advance.

After entering the room after a trip from va. The room had a mildew odor but front stats they are going thru renovations. Its posted if u stay m- f u may not have water throughout your stay. Ice bucket was provided with no cups. Refrigerator has so much ice built up in the freezer section you couldn't put even a drink in it . Shower had yellow stain in soap holder. Parking lot you will new struts on ur car by the time u leave.

People trying to get in our room, non working toilet and they were don’t get construction on the rooms at 8 AM in the morning and then again until almost 10:00 PM banging hammer nailing. It was absolutely horrible.

Currently doing a total makeover of property, upgrading everything...rooms are nice

Staff is extremely helpful and friendly. Doing renovations right now and they are coming along wonderfully

Was extremely disappointed in this property. Black mold in the shower. No elevator and locked door to stairs was broken and property management did not put up a sign. Staff just laughed in my face when I brought issues up. And large commercial trucks with air brakes come through to eat at restaurant in front past midnight.

We turned around and left 10 minutes after arriving due to dirty conditions, seeing a bedbug, and the

Dark and dirty. Noisy people banging on doors. Terrible

Dirty

Very dirty.

Dirty and unkempt hallways annd common areas. Although they were clean, sheets were stained.

We checked in, went to our room, and then immediately left. Person at the desk agreed with me about the filth. Told me to contact Expedia for a full refund.

Cockroaches, unclean linens, fridge did not work, hotel provided tissue box had unknown substance on the first tissue. Room overall was unclean. Will not return or recommend.

Roaches

I knew they had recently renovated and thought id give it another shot. The rooms do LOOK nicer without the orange walls. But, both beds were one wrong move from breaking and incredibly LOUD. Every toss and turn from one would wake the other up. And then, my worst nightmare with traveling occurred, around 1am during a loud bed wake-up we notice there was not one, but 2 ROACHES climbing the wall my partner ended up having to kill. Considering I spent almost $200 for one night, this is absolutely insane and disgusting. The roaches have been reported to licensing and inspection because the girl at the front desk had literally zero reaction, like this was an every day occurrence for them. I will NEVER again!! I do have photos that are not attaching here, but will gladly share with whomever!

Room was dirty, hair all around bathroom and sink areas. Sheets had some black stains washed into it. Even though my door locked, there was gaping spaces to the outside all around the door where air and insects could easily come in. Thank goodness I only had to stay one evening.

People should be aware of a few things. 1) The property is currently undergoing renovations and is not in great condition. 2) The bed felt like a plank of wood but it actually didn't feel too bad after a full day of travel. 3) There were no plugs close to the beds. The one outlet that was in cord length distance had holes too big for the phone charger. 4) The staff is friendly. No issues with the staff. 5) There was a fly in my room, no comforter on the bed and the tub was all beat up. Walls were multiple colors. Felt institutional. 6) I think this Motel 6 will be much better for travelers again when they complete their renovations. It's not terrible it's just not all that great right now.

The check in process was terrible because they couldn’t find my reservation. It took a half an hour to finally get checked in after they had to call hotels.com even though I had my receipt and everything. The room was fairly clean. The window was cracked though. The property smelled like marijuana really bad in certain places. Overall the bed was comfortable though and it was fairly quiet. Ok for 1 night for the price. Biggest issue was check in.

So, TV is analog and not digital. Bed not comfy. Walls thin. No bath, just a shower head on the bathroom wall. A/C cuts out. Needs to be updated. It was, however, very clean. You get what you pay fot i suppose.

The staff was amazing so this is a hard review to write, however the condition of the room cannot be ignored. We were pleasantly surprised by the new makeover the room had received. It looked inviting. However, we quickly noticed the only lights in the room were in the bathroom or next to the beds, so we had to move in the darkness to get to the lights. Small thing, not a huge deal. But then I went to take a shower and the water came out orange and smelled like rust. I just ran the water for about 20 minutes and it seemed to clear up but still not great. Then, and this was by far the worst part, the flies started appearing! Small, black, triangular flies that just kept coming back. Seriously, as quickly as we'd kill one, 2 more would appear. And when I let the front desk know, they blamed us and accused us of leaving our room door open. Lastly, after a night of struggling to get sleep due to the flies, the housekeepers started cleaning the room next to ours pretty early, and we only know this because the mop was repeatedly slammed into the wall where our headboard was. So we managed to get about an hour or 2 of sleep altogether. It was just too many things at one time and being blown off about the poor experience didn’t leave me feeling satisfied as a customer. We used to regularly visit this location as a date night escape from home but sadly, I don't think we will be returning after this experience.

Decent condition. Good enough for a night or two, but the walls are very thin. It was pretty noisy. No other complaints.

It was a nice hotel with comfortable bed!

It was ok for a motel. It was noisy at night alot of furniture moving it sounded like

Not a sparkling, polished room, that’s for sure. But the bed was fine.

Upon arrival, we were informed of a "new policy" that went into effect "that day" to where you will now be charged a $100 deposit for your room. The room itself wasn't $100 for the night to begin with!! Along with the new deposit, they now have an "incidentals" charge where if they decide youve damaged something, anything, your card will be automatically charged $250. On top of the fees that now exceed the cost to rent a room, my partner killed TWO roaches while we were there. Tried to call the office about this, however the in-room phone was disconnected and nobody answered when we called from our cell phones. There is no chain to secure your door and there are huge gaps under and all around, so when it started storming, the water started coming into the room!! All around, this was an absolute mess and I won't ever be back because of it. A fresh coat of paint over the old, cracked drywall does NOT constitute these fees. At least call an exterminator if you're going to be robbing people blind!! I have pictures but this review won't allow me to load them

The staff goes above and beyond

Super clean rooms, very friendly staff. highly recommended.

It’s good for the price, but they put a hold of a $100 during check in on my credit card, and haven’t released this amount back yet. No damage in the room or anything.

Excellent service friendly staff

The property charge me $135 for one night when it was supposed to be 95 the man at the desk said that Expedia never sent him the reservation so I paid $40 more than I was supposed to not happy never going to this hotel again and never using Expedia again

Staff is extremely helpful and friendly. Doing renovations right now and they are coming along wonderfully

The female staff was very rude and inconsiderate of my children and the situation at hand. She had terrible customer service skills and was very rude and aggressive when asking about customer service

The staff is very professional and knowledgeable

It's not bad, rooms are alright but sort of smell of cigarettes. Staff seems friendly, convinient location with a popeyes, dunkin donuts, and a 24h diner right outside of the hotel. For the price it's pretty good.

There's a Popeyes chicken right in the parking lot and a Dunkin Donuts 3 doors down.

Convenient location just off I-95. Area looks a little shady, but in our whole 4 day stay we had absolutely no uncomfortable encounters.

Walkable distances to cvs Walgreens or other big retail stores great place for travelers or someone who is settling down

Very rough area

Not the best area but cheap

Close to family , 95 and restaurant close and stores

Hall ways were very dirty rooms are getting updated ish but long way to go. The surroundings are unsettling may need security that patrols and keep the discomfort feelings down . But the desk person was helpful. And explanations on what the owners are doing to better it

convenient to Newark for Special Olympics Summer Games.

I liked the people who worked there. They were nice. The room was clean. The furniture was a little outdated and things needed some work on it. They are doing work on updating things and fixing it up. I loved that it was animal friendly witch was very helpful and convenient. I wish they had some kind of breakfast. But it was a good stay.

The property was overall in horrible condition rooms were dirty I had dog piss in my room upon arrival. Walls a floor were filthy. An tv screen was just blurry could barely see. Coffee was cold not fresh at all. A was just an unsafe environment. I had another guest try to get into my room

Only bonus was the restaurant next door - Two stones Pub
