Really charming little room. Comfy, clean, full size fridge, a microwave, basic dishes. A person could easily stay here awhile. Perfect location to walk to the Kohler Art Center, dine at the Black Pig and even walk to the lighthouse! Would rate higher, but I was double billed...once by Expedia and again by the front desk at check in. I called about it once I was home and the front desk gal was pleasant, admitted there had been an error and will refund me accordingly. No issues in resolving.

There was a breakdown in communication with the hotel where it came to reservation changes. The staff was less than receptive to any changes due to the fact that I booked online. Honestly, I would imagine the majority of people book online. My online reservation showed the correct changes, but the hotel canceled the wrong room (the one with a dog). The staff worked diligently to accommodate us, but only after experiencing their frustrations because we booked online. Evidently they cannot override any online bookings. Maybe need a software update? The front desk manager was involved and even showed more frustration and her lackluster customer service skills. Claiming to be pet friendly, my son and daughter in law and their dog were forced to use back stairwells and were scolded in front of other family and guests that they were in the wrong hallway with a dog by the same overwhelmed desk manager. The hotel itself was very nice. Rooms are spacious and clean. The hotel location is awesome within walking distance to scenic Lake Michigan, great restaurants and parks. We did not eat breakfast at the hotel so cannot rate the hot breakfast which was included.

The "free" breakfast was unappealing and unappetizing. The second day we went out for breakfast. The thermostat in the room was difficult to use (hard to tell what set vs. actual temperature was, when changing) We appreciated having lamps for reading and writing at table.

The room was super clean! And the property is located within easy walking distance of the Kohler museum, the library, and restaurants/coffee shops. But there was a lot of noise within the room. Also, there was basically no security - anyone could walk into the property without a key and go all the way to the elevator or stairs; the front desk person was never actually sitting at the front desk, they were always in some back room.
