Downtown Brevard Cottage - Hot Tub / Walk To Town

Stayed here for a second time this week. John and Ashley are fabulous hosts. They offer theur fantastic property with great communication easy check-in and check out procedures. Stay here as a central location for all the best mountain biking...DuPont, Pisgah, Bent Creek. Come home from a hard day on yhe trails and soak in the hot tub. Then walk into town to any one of the many outstanding restaurants, breweries and shops. The neighborhood is so serene, you'll never know you're a half mile from downtown Brevard. This place has it all. I highly recommend it.

We only used one room for sleeping, but had enough room to spread out a little bit with our luggage. The power of the water in the showers was some of the best we’ve ever had anywhere, including our own homes! We thoroughly enjoyed the hot tub and its temperature was perfect. We also enjoyed the ambiance and warmth of the fireplace. While we did not use all the kitchen appliances and supplies, it was certainly complete with what we needed although families might need more silverware.Suggestion would be to consider replacing couple of the chairs and the couch in the living room as they were difficult get in and to get in and out because they sank so low. They appear to be worn. The bedspread in the King bedroom as well as the sheets should be replaced. The bed itself however, was very comfortable. Overall, we were very pleased with our stay as it was very close to hiking trails and downtown Brevard.

Fall foliage was at peak - so we were thrilled to find this gem in Brevard on a Saturday night! I didn't even notice that the home had a hot tub - so that was a nice surprise! We also enjoyed the gas fireplace while watching the world series that night. All spaces have been thoughtfully updated. We didn't cook - but the kitchen was amazing. The bathrooms were also great. Highly recommend!

This property was laid out exactly as advertised and worked for our group of 5 adults for a long weekend visit in Brevard. We have stayed in several rentals in Brevard the last several years. This one needs some love and attention! The outside deck was totally unusable. We had seen several comments on previous reviews about how old/dirty the outside deck furniture was, but once there, we realized how true those reviews were. It is well past time for that dining table and chairs to be replaced - it has been ignored so long that there was mold and lichen completely covering everything. The hot tub did not seem terribly clean when we contemplated using it either. The same could be said for the leather sofa and chairs in the living room (so well used that they are difficult to get out of and not comfortable to sit in). All the towels for the bathrooms were discolored and frayed. Plastic mattress coverings may help protect the matresses, but make for warm, sticky sleeping at night. The ceiling fans in the bedrooms are off balance and make loud noise no matter what setting they're on. The fan light in the twin bedroom was missing 2 of 3 light bulbs. In the kitchen, many of the pots, pans and dishes were not completely clean and there is no exhaust fan over the stove. Two small plastic ice cube trays in the freezer are not enough for 5 adults. The batteries in the main smoke detector died on our 2nd day and we couldn't find replacements. Definitely needs updating.

This is a great, well designed, and furnished house. This was our third stay in it. I love being able to walk just a few blocks to the Main St. and several restaurants. They only reason I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 is the appearance of the neighborhood. But it has been fine and really convenient. The back yard is fenced with a nice deck, perfect for enjoying the cool evenings - if the owner would replace the deck furniture which is covered with lichen. That is my only complaint. We will return in spite of the deck furniture.

Great location, easy walk to town. Upon arrival one of the two toilets was broken, unable to flush, notified owner, was told it would be fixed (which never happened over our 4 day stay). Inconvenience for 4 people when house was advertised to have 2 bathrooms. Back porch with rotten wood and mold (safety issue). Hot tub was very nice after long day hikes in the parks. This was my second time using VRBO in Brevard, would not stay at this place again.

The house was lovely, and the hot tub made it more like a fancy resort than a city VRBO house. I look forward to staying again sometime soon.

The inside of the house wa very clean with excellent bathrooms with walk in showers. Adequate supplies. Outside deck was really unusable because o the poor condition of the deck table and chairs.

Great communication before our stay. This house is well laid out with all the amenities, renovated bathrooms and comfortable beds. Nice open kitchen/living room/dining room layout with nice reclining chairs and a couch in the living area. It’s on a quiet street and a short stroll to downtown Brevard with all its restaurants and shops, which was nice after a day of hiking in Pisgah. The privacy fenced backyard with deck and hot tub is a relaxing place to hang out. Great stay!

Charming three bedroom two bath home located within walking distance of downtown was a perfect spot for us. A fenced in backyard that allowed us privacy with a hot tub was also nice to have. Love the spacious kitchen as I like to cook when I’m on vacation and it was equipped with all I needed. The home was lovely and tidy…and did I mention a nice place to go outside and take a walk in a lovely neighborhood? Would definitely give it a 10 out of 10 and we keep it on my list of places to go back to as we spend a lot of time in Brevard.

House was as advertised or even better. Inside has been remodeled and looks really good and was neat and clean. We were in walking distance to downtown Brevard. The host were excellent. If we go back to Brevard I am sure we will stay there again

Location was great, even with some major construction close by. House was as advertised with great fenced back yard and hot tub is a nice bonus. For the most part floors, bathrooms, kitchen and main surfaces were clean. We contacted owners when we noticed dust balls coming from floor vents. They were more concerned with the custom floor vents than the cleanliness. We were threatened to be removed for touching the vents and cleanliness was never addressed other than a snarky unprofessional response. We left a day early and would not come back to this location.

Great place in a super convenient location to downtown! Really enjoyed being able to walk to everything. The property needs some tlc, deep clean, little random things that would have made it an overall 5 star.

As mentioned in reviews, the deck furniture is covered in lichen or something and needs to be cleaned or replaced. The hottub was oddly foamy which our host said was probably a soap issue? An annoying issue that didnt seem a priority for our host was the dining room smoke/carbon dioxide detector started chirping our second night. We removed the batteries and notified the host but no one came to fix it. The next night (4am?) the device began beeping with an added spoken warning. There were no batteries to be found so we disconnected the electrical wires. I notified the host again. He responded but didn't come by to fix the device during our stay. Brevard is lovely and the options for exploring the beautiful forest are endless!!

Close to town, very open layout. Furniture needs some updating, couch not very comfortable and hard to get out of. Nice kitchen, just missing some cooking accessories if you are families who do some cooking, baking while vacationing. Very nice updated bathrooms, particularly the king bedroom…..loved the unusual door to the bathroom. Neighborhood very quiet and enjoyed the hot tub!

We Loved the location. Very close to downtown. There was some construction down the street but we didn’t hear it. All we heard were the birds. Hosts were great at communicating. Its a modest home but felt very roomy. The bathrooms were very nice.

The property is very close to downtown which is lovely. The neighborhood is in the process of changing and updating. The house is modest on the outside and very comfortable on the inside. They obviously used nice design elements to give a sense of comfort. The backyard is perfect for a family with a dog.

Lovely week in Brevard- we spent days working remotely and evenings walking to town for dinner. Quite comfortable bed and updated bathrooms were very nice.

The house is just what we needed. Great location to town which was diatance walking to town. The kitchen and bathrooms were very nice and well decorated. The couches were low and a little difficult to get out of. Could us a new table and chairs on patio, not something I wanted to sit on. Worn out and need cleaning or replacing. Hot tub was awesome. Bushes are very high in front could be trimmed to have better site when exiting driveway. Would stay here again.

Wow! The property was amazing, Jonathan and Ashley couldn't have been nicer, and check-in was easy. We wanted to stay within walking distance of downtown. I didn't realize this house was close to our favorite restaurants and music venue (185 King Street) but away from traffic and noise. We didn't need the car from the time we arrived until we left to return home. Though we didn't cook while there, anything we needed was available. The beds were comfortable, the gas fireplace knocked off the early and late chills, and the deck was wonderful for relaxing during the warm afternoons. I read some reviews that commented negatively about the neighborhood, but after being there, I'm not at all sure what they were describing. The neighborhood was clean, quiet, and safe. There is some construction going on nearby, but it was not noisy or inconveniencing in any way. I will certainly hope to stay here again when coming for music or simply visiting the town.

Great location, all the amenities you need, quiet street close to downtown and the trails

For our purposes, this property was perfect. It was a 5-minute drive to Brevard Music Center, and about a 7-minute walk to downtown. It is well maintained, and definitely a cut above most rental properties. If it’s available, we’ll certainly rent this property on future trips to Brevard.

The proximity to Brevard College was great the actual neighborhood was very disappointing. The adjacent run down homes were horrible yo look at and the new construction at end of street was loud at times. We understand how the area is renovating but need to let people know it is a less than desirable neighborhood but the house inside was great and Ashley is wonderful. Might be time for new furniture while it looks great the couch and chairs are hard to get out of as you si k down on them.

Comfortable cottage very close to town. We appreciated the accommodations for our two dogs. Great spot for getting around to all the local attractions!
