Days Inn by Wyndham San Marcos

It was fairly clean in my room but it was still quite dirty in some areas. Bed and pillows were both pretty comfortable. Not too loud at night time. I would say it isn’t a kids place though when it all comes together.

The air cooler in the room made loud noise all night long.

It ok.but they kept the pool closed.that the main amenity when you got kids.they want to swim.weather was good to swim they it was closed due to weather.may be next time

Overall, this Days Inn is just okay. The hotel is rundown and needs a facelift and good paint. The location is perfectly located right off the highway, close to a ton of restaurants and our friend's home who we were visiting, and 20-30 mins. from the beach and Legoland. If you asked a local this maybe considered the unsafe area of San Marcos, it's definitely NOT La Jolla. Hotel costs in San Diego are climbing, so this is on the cheaper more affordable side, why I originally booked, but next visit I will pay more for a safer nicer hotel. Guests treat this hotel like its their home, not a hotel, so people, camp out all day at the hotel. Luckily, we stayed in a 2 Bedroom Studio room close to the lobby, that area was well lite. The room was nice and spacious. It had a kitchenette area, with microwave and mini fridge. On the surface it looked and smelt clean, but seemed like a deep clean was needed. I had to request more TP and an ice bucket because the room did not come with it. Also Chico's next door has excellent food, agua frescas, and bakery. They allowed a late checkout of 12PM, but were really pushy about leaving right at 12, even though Hotels.com lists checkout at 12, they said it was 11am. We stayed here with dogs and charged a $25 fee. We asked for a first floor room, but it appears the 1st floor are being renovated, this was difficult with dogs, someone with mobility issues and and no elevator. Bfast is limited: waffle maker, prepackaged pastries, 1 juice and coffee.

Reception personnel were excellent. Very pleasant. The price was good. Our room… just ok with stained chair, worn out buttons on the air conditioner so we had to guess which button controlled what. The bathroom sink had scrapes and permanent stains.The breakfast minimal. Toast and pastries. The juice machine was out of order. We decided to go elsewhere. Parking was fine.
