I think the property was overpriced for the room. Floors aren’t level, hallways are narrow. You are going to be charged a room fee and a parking fee per night on top of room charges. Staff at front desk are very nice. They do have soda and frozen food at the front which is nice. Rooftop bar was nice but expensive.

The property has been updated very neat and clean. Easy access to the beach and boardwalk. I didn’t like having to pay for parking each day or that I would’ve had to pay 50-75 dollars for an early check in even though the room was ready before 4 pm. Also we stayed Monday-Wednesday and the only restaurant open was the breakfast cafe at the hotel.

My family of three enjoyed our stay. Great location, quiet and directly across the street from the beach. Very basic older hotel. Unfortunately, does not have a gym or fitness center.

the hotel is located close to beach and boardwalk. you have to use valet parking which is a little difficult. The hotel is clean, and the staff is helpful. The restaurant was very good

This place has been run down. I remember days when folks thought it was the nicest place in town. The pull out sofa was old, uncomfortable and stained. The pool area was filthy, the doors and ceiling are no longer retractable makes for a hot musty area. For the price per night there definitely should be some investment in refurbishing.

We had a great time at Hampton Beach, and are thankful for how close this hotel is to the beach.. but our room had another persons hair on our bed and couch, the shower had mold growing, the ceilings were falling onto the floor and bed, and our air conditioner had centipedes crawling out and was falling out of the wall. We paid a lot for this stay and it felt like a very dirty. Will look elsewhere next time.

Our room was filthy. The floor was disgusting. Opened a drawer and it was full of leaves and debris. The hotel restaurant and bar were great. Just our room was not up to par by far.

Pros - It's right across the street from the beach and the views from the balcony are great. Staff were generaly friendly. Being able to hrab breakfast in the attached restaurant was convenient and it was pretty good. Cons - The room was dirty. The floor was covered in sand ans the headboard had something smeared all over it. The toilet seat needed to be replaced as it was grungy, dirty, and worn. The fixtures in the bathroom looked like they'd never been properly cleaned. The rusty ceiling tiles and duat above just gave the bathroom a gross feel.

The limited experience I had with the staff was very good. That being said, I have been visiting Hampton Beach for about 35 years with my children and now my grandchildren. I had the financial means to stay at the “fanciest hotel” in HB about 10-15 years ago and it was all I imagined it would be. That was NOT the case this time. From the moment we pulled up we could see dirty windows, then the dirty carpet in the lobby. I assumed it was just due to high traffic. Enter room. Dirty. Sand all over the floor, dusty, dirty glass and mirrors, stained sofa and we won’t even talk about the bed of the pull out sofa! The bathroom ceiling, shower, floors all had visible mold (hence the allergy attack) and there was an area behind the bottom of the toilet that looked like a large hole filled in with caulk. To say we were disappointed is an understatement. Needless to say we will not be going back nor will we recommend to anyone.

Missing a few modern things like exhaust fans in the bathroom, so there were some plaster cracks in the bathroom under the sink from moisture, but it’s older building. With that said, rooms were very well maintained, balcony facing the beach was great (had dinner out there), air conditioning was so cold that we turned it off, bed was comfortable, right on the end of the boardwalk so everything is walkable, restaurants were great but a little pricey, and staff was very friendly and helpful. Will definitely stay here again!

Is a nice place. Room was a little small but we were only there for a few days so it was fine. There is no smoking on the property at all which I was unaware of. I get no smoking in the rooms and crowded places but no smoking on the balcony with no one around seems a little crazy to me. I'm very respectful of other people and the property I am staying at so it was just a little frustrating that I couldn't enjoy a cocktail and a smoke on my balcony or anywhere else on the property.

If your planing to go party great. In the lobby there is a huge basket full of ear plugs I was wondering why . the rooms are so badly insulated you hear your neighbours like if there were in your room. When I complained about the noise they gives me ear plugs!! I don’t recommend this hotel

Check in was uncomfortable, felt like I’d done something wrong in not giving my credit card in online check in although it was never requested. Room was loud, off elevator and in front of ice machine, so noisy. Not the best stay.

Gerry, the front desk agent during the day and Rick (Im pretty sure that’s his name, front desk/night shift) were exceptional, the staff definitely went and beyond to make sure we had a fantastic stay. I can’t say enough about how friendly, helpful, professional, and courteous Gerry was when I checked out and the same for the night audit/front desk staff when I checked in the first night. The rooms are clean, breakfast at the cafe was delicious, and we look forward to staying at the Ashworth again! Highly recommended, thank you!

Place is great and convenient, check in is 4pm but even at 4.30pm our room wasn’t ready, is there only one room maid? Valet parking guy was so busy we ended up getting our own car from the lot after tipping the guy 😂. Tip of the day, hire more people!

Nice location for super easy beach access. Suitable rooms but not a great stay due to check-in error. Upon check-in the front desk seemed confused about which room to assign me. The younger guy at the desk even called his supervisor to confirm he had the right room #. When I got to 'my' room someone was already in there. Had to head back down to get a new room, which was challenging as I was solo with my young son and luggage. Got my room re-assigned by a different older guy at the front desk who barely shrugged an apology at me being given an occupied room. When the younger guy who'd first checked me in overheard and tried to apologize, the older guy got power trip-y and shut him down. In any other situation like this I've been given something comped, or at least a more hearty apology, but this hotel didn't seem to care. The room was fine. Don't expect anything luxurious; i.e., super small towels First visit to Hampton Beach--if I return, it won't be to here. They definitely could have built more goodwill by being more apologetic about their mistake. Other staff we encountered were nice.

The staff was great. Only issue was it is mandatory valet parking. There was only one valet attendant to park all the vehicles. The wait was extremely long with everyone trying to check in at 4pm.

It was a nice trip and visit overall, staff was very friendly and helpful. The place needs updating for sure, bathroom floors looked very worn and paint was cracked and peeling. Would definitely benefit from some basic updates and redecorating. Restaurant menu is basic offerings, similar menu for lunch and dinner, quality was and 8 out of 10. Good, but lacking anything that made it special. Hotel price was a little high for the quality, but the convenient location, great staff and wonderful valet service all made it a great visit. Would definitely return.

Gerry was a huge help! Great member of the staff. Valet parking staff also very accomodating and friendly. Bar staff friendly. Ate dinner. It was good but could be better cooked for flavors. Should have some kind of free bfast for the cost. Could also hear right through the walls so hard to sleep sometimes. Not sure why it is so loud between rooms? Minimal sound barriers it seems

The Ashworth is a long-standing hotel institution in Hampto Beach. As with most of the older ocean hotels in the New Hampshire/Maine area, the room was a little worn around the edges. It was clean and comfortable, in a great centralized location. The valet parking is a godsend for the crowded beach area. The Wharfside Cafe at the hotel was a very nice place for breakfast. The Breakers Restaurant at the hotel was a mixed bag. My wife and sister-in-law enjoyed their haddock plate and sandwich. My hamburger tasted off (later in the night I was proven correct) and my brother-in-law’s pizza appeared to be the frozen variety,JMO. The staff was friendly and helpful when needed. As with any hotel on beachfront property, it’s a little pricey. I would recommend this hotel with the caveat that don’t expect a 5 star resort.
