GrandStay Hotel & Suites Hastings

What guests think

Across recent reviews, GrandStay Hotel & Suites Hastings earns strong praise for friendly, accommodating staff and generally clean, quiet rooms, while recurring drawbacks include very firm beds, occasional musty or smoky odors, and hot tub outages or lukewarm temperatures.

Breakfast feedback ranges from great variety and tasty waffles to limited selection and items not kept hot or stocked. Guests appreciate the pool, yet hot tub temperature or downtime appears in multiple reviews, and occasional maintenance issues include faulty locks, fixtures, or a chirping alarm. The location works well for Treasure Island Casino and nearby stores, though walkable choices are limited. Suited to travelers prioritizing convenience over upscale features.

I liked the old rustic look of it the inside and outside. The Staff was awesome....I had problem getting the card to work in my room. So, the lovely staff member moved in a different room. The card worked! She was so friendly!! The only thing I wish was not cold coffee at night..needed hot coffee! The Spa could've been hotter it was luked warm. Also, need towels in the pool area. The Breakfast was wonderful! The Staff guy made me a fresh pot of coffee. Excellent service and friendly. I will definitely consider staying here again!!

Due to weather and work I stayed. Friendly staff and breakfast was ok. Only bad thing was the hot tub was not working the first night and that was the night no one was there. Pool was cold. The second night I stayed the pool and hot tub had several people and screaming children and there was no peace and quiet. Not the hotels fault, I just prefer quiet after a long day of work. The kids were running around knocking on the hotel rooms. Again - not hotels fault - just kids being kids. I would stay again for sure.

Overall the Hastings Comfort Inn was a good choice for an overnight stay. Was closeish to Treasure Island Casino as we were attending a concert in their amphitheatre and all rooms at the casino and surrounding areas were completely booked. Room was clean, beds had new, stylish looking top blanket, the room had a little bit of a musty smell but once we turned the AC on it went away. The only thing I was not happy about was breakfast. They had the usual milk, juice, coffee, cereal, waffle maker, which was fine. The only eggs they had was a premade omelette thing you had to microwave as well as some sausage pancakes on stick thing you also microwaved. The mini blueberry muffin I had was stale tasting and the yogurt I had wasn't super cold from the cooler I grabbed it from. Have never ever had such a sad complimentary breakfast before. You need to up your game Hastings Comfort Inn on this. If I want to use a microwave for breakfast I'll do that at home not when I'm paying money to stay somewhere.

Just ok for the price. Basic continental breakfast included. Upon entering the room it smelled as if a smoker was in there previously, although it's labeled non-smoking. Bathroom had 2 issues: 1) Drain in sink was broken and stuck shut. 2) Sitting on very loose toilet seat was like being on a swivel chair

My stay was very nice. I was greeted right away by staff. Very professional and friendly! They informed me of the hours for pool, breakfast and check out time. My room was very clean and comfortable! They also had a variety of pillows, one was a soft one which I like. The place was well kept and decorated nicely for fall. In the morning I went to breakfast. There was a nice variety of a selection to choose. The coffee was very good as well. The staff was there asking if everything was okay and promptly filling low selections. Very friendly and nice smiles and greeted when passing by. There was a frig in the room so that was nice. I would go there again.

Reserved this stay for attending a concert at Treasure Island. Property could use some updates and renovations. It’s not in a poor condition but it’s definitely older than the typical Country Inn and Suites. Staff was friendly and welcoming. The only reason for my lower rating was the bed. The mattress was extremely firm and uncomfortable. It definitely affected the quality of sleep I was able to get. Investing in some upgrades and comfortable mattresses should be a necessity.

Clean. Bed very hard and uncomfortable. Pillows hard. Not comfortable. Soap in bathroom won’t even lather. Also, the toilet paper is so thin you have to use three times as much so you might as well buy regular soft toilet paper. It makes the hotel look cheap. Otherwise the staff was super helpful and telling us directions and places to go and everything was very neat in the breakfast accommodations. Very very nice.

Have multiple conversations and just not welcoming and friendly. Stain on the wall right as you walk in. Mold on the shower mixer. Replace the caulk. Bed was hard as a rock. Place has potential. Hire employees that care. Comfortable beds are important too
