Dutch Country Inn

What guests think

At Dutch Country Inn, guests consistently praise very clean rooms, friendly service, quiet surroundings, and comfortable beds at good prices, while noting the older property feel and occasional maintenance issues or staffing limitations, including no elevator.

Several highlight spacious rooms and pillows they really like. Breakfast is basic, but the homemade Amish cinnamon rolls draw frequent praise, and some guests want more variety. A handful report dated fixtures, soft or worn mattresses, occasional mold or musty smells, and limited front-desk hours. Expect a clean, good-value stay with simple comforts.

The room was very clean. The person who cleans the room takes extra steps to make it special. We really appreciated the attention to details. The place is an older building and has an older style but it is kept up. It was quiet and I felt extremely safe. We had the jetted tub room. The water gets hot and it fills up fast. I have stayed in so many rooms where that has been a problem but it wasn’t the case here. The tub size is decent. We are bigger people and we both could fit in it. If we travel this way again, we would stay there again.

Check in was easy and the attendant when we checked in was nice. Breakfast had homemade rolls that were delicious. We had 3 rooms. In one room there was mold in the refrigerator. When we notified the front desk the next morning that attendant seemed to care less. It was cleaned up when we came back. However housekeeping was haphazard at best. Hand towels were changed out but not the bath towels. The garbage was taken out but no new glasses were left leaving no glasses in the rooms. Beds also were not made. Garbage cans outside were overflowing and cats were eating out of them.

Our room was clean and spacious. We had all the amenities we needed. My husband and I did not know how to operate the knob to get water to the shower. We tried everything, turning it completely around, up and down. The lobby was closed, so we weren't able to shower. When I asked ad the desk the next day, the person at the desk showed me a diagram on how to operate it. I said it would have been nice to have that at check-in. I also asked if other guests had the same issue as us, and he said yes. I suggested they post it in the bathroom. Also, we wanted to adjust the thermostat. The wall unit said temperature adjustments had to be made at the thermostat on the wall, but there were no buttons or dials on the wall thermostat. It was completely enclosed. So we had to deal with a set temperature the entire stay.

We had to check out earlier than the front desk was there and when I called to ask if I needed to return the keys they said no, thought it was super nice of them!

This was an average hotel with average breakfast (but there were Amish cinnamon rolls). The room was dated and the bed was soft and bouncy. The carpet was newer and nice. It did have a quilt which I prefer to a polyester comforter. The staff was friendly. We lover the town. Very rural and lots of farm country. We saw Amish buggy’s and enjoyed the stores.
