The Estate Yountville

What guests think

The Estate Yountville draws consistent praise for its beautiful grounds, walkable Yountville location, spacious comfortable rooms, and friendly, attentive staff, with appreciated extras like a generous breakfast, complimentary snacks and tastings, e-bikes, and relaxing pool and hot tub.

Rooms are often described as well appointed, with large bathrooms, soaking tubs or balconies, and thoughtful touches. Recurring drawbacks include traffic or neighbor noise, occasional HVAC or maintenance hiccups, a sometimes chaotic breakfast or slow front-desk experience, and a resort fee some consider high, plus limited EV chargers. Expect a polished, amenity-rich base in Napa Valley that favors convenience and comfort over seclusion.

We had such a lovely time here and it was so beautiful! What we loved was the location and aesthetic of the place. Also a great bonus is the jacuzzi/pool area is open 24/7 which is amazing because other resorts close at 2300. Would definitely stay here again! The only down side is that the prices of the drinks at the bar are pricey but other than that, we had a great time!

Phenomenal! Location of the estate near walkable to dining wine tasting and shops. Staff is beyond helpful and friendly ! We were greeted with a glass of wine. Room had unlimited water replenished every day, complimentary snacks in the room. Room was gorgeous with a balcony, overlooking beautiful courtyard, large bathroom with 2 shower rain heads! Pool was beautiful , staff there to take orders, complimentary breakfast delicious in a beautiful lobby with live piano playing. Gym had all we needed. Complimentary car service to wineries in 6 mile radius. Restaurants are out of this works! Bottega, bouchon, French laundry, etc complimentary bikes. We rode all along Washington street. It felt like home with complimentary wine and snacks all day and a smile on every staff members face. Will come back!

The hotel was better than the photos, better than we could have imagined! We loved our stay! The amenity fee is pretty steep ($70/day plus tax), but you really get a lot of nice perks with that like a driver when available (and they often were), e-bikes, lots of available snacks, and a wonderful breakfast. The Concierge, Meggan, also has great relationships with wineries and we were able to enjoy many complimentary upgraded wine tastings and experiences at wonderful partner wineries.

The hotel was perfect for our one night anniversary trip. They had everything. Fantastic, hot tub, fire pits, amazing commentary, breakfast, lots of snacks, complementary wine tasting… And everyone who works there is incredibly friendly and helpful. Oh I almost forgot about the commentary shuttle service to anywhere in Yountville, the relaxed live music in the evening and at breakfast… Just wow all around

Nice property. Stayed in “vintage” part of property. Room was nicely roomy . Definitely had feel of remodeled bed and breakfast meets Best Western/Travelidge. Room had older furniture that had some questionable stains. We did not sit in it. :) Expected a little bit more for the per night cost. Could be higher value, but, it’s Yountville….. Saving grace - Staff was phenomenal. Very pretty grounds with roses blooming in May. Great lobby and breakfast service. Good food. Easy walking around town.

I got there after a long trip and they had canceled my reservation, even though it was confirmed and I’d paid a deposit. They said they were overbooked and just canceled my reservation, leaving me absolutely left me in the lurch, with no place to stay, although I had called earlier that day and confirmed my reservation. Atrocious. I am furious. Terrible hotel. Horrible to cancel a customer because of “overbooked” - not my fault!

Besides being really close to the main highway, and some ambient noise that creates, the property is quite lovely and the rooms are very nice. The problem is that the service is atrocious. You wait several minutes to get served (and we weren't the only guests commenting), you have to go the bar to get a drink, and besides one individual, the entire front desk is rather salty. In addition, there was room service food left outside someone's room door for two days and none of the staff could take the time to pick it up. I also think we may have been overcharged for poolside drinks one day as the same drink cost less at the other bar. To summarize, it now makes perfect sense as to why this property gets lower reviews and is not a Michelin property like a similar property down the street.

The hotel itself is stylish and the staff were genuinely friendly, but the setting was a big letdown. Despite the name, The Estate Yountville is located right next to a busy road, so there’s constant traffic noise whether you’re at the pool, the vineyard area, or just sitting outside. It’s definitely not the quiet, rural escape we were hoping for. The name “Estate” feels a bit deceptive — it suggests a secluded property surrounded by vineyards, but the reality is much more urban and noisy. We also found the town of Yountville itself to be a bit underwhelming — small, pricey, and not nearly as charming as we’d imagined. The hotel is nice on the surface, but for us, the setting and nonstop noise really killed the experience.

A fantastic property and stay. I would certainly return. A beautiful setting. To ensure that it is a true 5 star, there were a few improvements. A couple of my towels in the room were slightly marked, prices / room service charges could have been more transparent. I would also expect a broader range of snacks / food for the menus. This was fairly limited but al good quality. Breakfast was good, the coffee options were poor though unless you paid extra for barista made coffees, this didn’t feel great. Some of the breakfast options seemed quite bizarre and were clearly not in demand. More avocado / eggs options would be good. They could also diversify from just omelettes to pancakes too. Slight grumbles but not a full 5 stars based on expectations and experiences elsewhere. A stunning property and location, staff were very friendly. Would return.

Overall the property was very nice. There were some cosmetic issues with the bathroom such as chipped tile in the sink and poor drainage. The worst part of our trip was due to me having a severe allergic reaction to one of the items in the breakfast buffet because it contained nuts and there wasn’t a sign indicating it had nuts and the nuts were not visible. I asked the front desk to include a note on the items that contained nuts the following day but they did not. This was unfortunate because I had to spend our vacation dealing with an allergic reaction instead of enjoying our time in Yountville.
