We stayed here for one night. It was lovely. The room was delightful. The best part was waking up and seeing the river in front of the deck we went outside and had our coffee on the deck and sat there for a few hours enjoying this amazing amounts of birds and seals going back-and-forth on the river. We were so happy to have a noon checkout so we could just lollygag and soak up the enjoyment of the space.

This place is a hidden gem. Mini cottages and rooms along the river with stunning views. My room had a fireplace and a balcony which was bliss to sit outside with wine or coffee and enjoy the river sounds and vibes. Also a lovely garden and super fast WiFi. Rooms recently renovated with comfy bed. Very helpful staff. I know leaving a great review will reveal the secret how good it is. Enjoy.

We stayed in the sparrow room. It was incredibly small and filthy. The room was caked in dust and smelled of cigarettes. The temperature regulation was also difficult - we opened the windows to air out the room. However, the windows did not have screens, so the open windows allowed bugs to enter. Madeira House operates much more like an AirBnB than a hotel. There is a contactless check in process without onsite staff. There are also multiple steps of steep stairs that lead from the road (“parking lot”), to the rooms. There are no ramps or elevators. Definitely advise against staying here for anyone with mobility impairments. The town of Jenner has very few offerings by way of food or entertainment. The one restaurant in town is temporarily closed. Pack accommodations accordingly. The views are very pretty, so it is possible another room would provide a very different - perhaps more favorable - experience.
