Had a great time visiting the University! The hotel allowed us early check in so that we could drop our bags prior to our tour. In the evening we sat by the fire outside with other guests, drank wine, ate pizza, and socialized. It was a perfect!

Stayed here a few times and it’s been great each time. The place is bigger than it looks. The Tavern is great for drinks. The food is also good. It’s convenient to have a bar and restaurant in the hotel. Wish they had a free breakfast, but not a show stopper with how close they are to the OHIO campus.

Everything was ok. Appeared clean on the surface but if you looked closely, our room wasn’t very clean. Crumbs and trash around the edges, hairs in the bathroom, just clean enough to not complain. The worst was when I ordered a cold brew coffee at the little “Starbucks” area by the bar and my normal $5 drink was $8!!! Insane. And before handing it to me, she kindly cleaned my drink lid with a gross, wet, dirty rag. Yuck. I ended up not even drinking it because who knows what else was cleaned with that rag.

I had high hopes for this property, but was sorely disappointed at the overall condition of the hotel and our room. The beds were haphazardly made, there was mildew throughout the shower, and the bath towels were the size of a foot towel. At the end of the hall was a large bin of dirty bedding that stayed there for the entire weekend. I realize this hotel probably gets booked often, but they need to invest in updating and cleaning the existing rooms. The restaurant was very good, though.

Our bathroom was dirty. The restaurant is closed today. My kid is not feeling well and I was looking to get a second room at a discounted price and the manager was not helpful. The young lady behind the desk felt bad and has been great, but the manager would not budge. The hotel is empty. The bathroom door squeaks, which is keeping the child not feeling well up. Very disappointed. I have stayed here several times, and this has been my worst experience yet.

I would rather share images. The room smelled horrible every time the air ran. The vent was disgusting. If you looked at the room from the door, it was clean. When you started moving around the room it you could easily find overlooked areas. Fingerprints on the vinyl desk chair. Spots in the bathroom by the light switch, mirror and vanity leg. Outside steps rusty and in need of repair.

Unfortunately, we were in 3 different rooms for a one night stay due to air conditioning issues. After being moved to a 3rd room, the AC finally worked and we were able to relax and sleep comfortably. The first 2 rooms could/would not get below 80 degrees, even after running for at least an hour. The staff was very understanding and they gladly got us another room each time, just wish they never had or needed to.

It's always a pleasure staying at the OU Inn whether you're there for the evening or a long weekend. The front desk service was excellent as well as the Bar and Restaurant. For the most part the food was good. Some dishes could have used a bit more seasoning but all in all our snacks and meals were very good. Starbucks is conveniently located between the lobby and the bar area. The beds were super comfortable and the King bed room was very spacious. The rooms and hallways have been recently renovated and all have Ohio University decor. From the custom wallpaper in the bathrooms to the small touches throughout the room, if you bleed green like we do, you will appreciate these fine details. The patio had a cool vibe with lots of seating as well as a fireplace. We will be staying here again in the future.

There are also a bunch of stairs within the hotel so lugging bags is a pain and carts are useless. It's close to the campus but not really walking distance.

Channel selection on the TV in the room was extremely poor. I wanted to watch the Ryder Cup on Friday afternoon on the USA channel but it was not on the VERY POOR selection in the room. When I called the front desk I was told the channel selection was caused by Direct TV. I told the front desk this was UNACCEPTABLE and I wanted a reduction on what I paid for the room. I was told that would not happen and if I didn't like the room I should check out. I couldn't do that until Saturday morning. I will be visiting OHIO U for the next 4 years on a regular basis but it won't be at this property.

Check-in staff was young and seemed confused. Said my credit card didn't go thru, despite my room being pre-paid. She also didn't recognize my VIP status and was actually going to downgrade the room, until I showed her the VIP perks for this stay. I did ultimately get an upgraded room, which was very nice. The restaurant/bar staff were not attentive and took close to 30 minutes to get any sort of acknowledgment, a menu or any service. No complaints about the hotel itself, but the staff seemed a bit lacking this trip.

Probably worst business stay I’ve ever had. The fire alarm malfunctioned and kept going off starting around 5:00am and lasting over an hour. We all had to go sit in our vehicles in the rain at 5:00am! I had early morning business meetings scheduled and didn’t get to sleep or shower. When I finally was able to go get the rest of my luggage out the clerk said there would be no compensation. I used to stay here every time I was in town for work. I will never stay here again! Even after I said had spent half the time in my truck in the rain they offered me breakfast in the hotel while the alarm was still blaring.

We were just passing through the Hocking Hills, but stopped and spent an enjoyable night at this inn. The room was clean and nicely appointed. We stayed in a lovely and spacious king suite. The inn is within walking distance of Ohio University campus and a paved hiking/biking trail along the banks of the Hocking River. The food was amazing, but the bar was gross. Dust on everything, gnats, the garnishes were just out, my beer bottle smelled like mildew for some reason, the bar-tenders were mid.
