Beautiful log cabin next to a small stream down a private dirt road. Includes all kitchenware, towels, sheets, candles, matches/lighter, books and crayons, streaming tv, a/c in bedroom, ceiling fans and comfortable furniture. Has a charcoal grill, a fire-pit with grill, a variety of outdoor seating to include a hammock! All amenities in excellent working order, even hot water and water pressure! Multiple personal, homey touches through out, they thought of everything, even foil and plastic wrap! Love the welcome gift of cookies and jam waiting for us! So thoughtful, thank you! Saw two small bucks going across the yard up into the woods the evening we got there! We had a most enjoyable and relaxing weekend, much needed, thank you!

Our stay in this cozy cabin could not have been more perfect! From the babbling brook to the tranquil surroundings, this spot is truly a slice of heaven! Check in could not have been easier and we were even greeted with jam and fresh apples! Neighbors were friendly in passing and we just enjoyed being unplugged for the weekend. We hiked, played in the creek, made campfires, laid in the hammock and enjoyed many games of Checkers on the front porch. It was a quintessential Fall weekend in WV and this little rustic cabin was absolutely perfect for our needs!

My wife and I had an enjoyable 4 night anniversary stay at this little cabin. The drive back the lane made it feel away from the world but it was still only a couple miles from the quaint town of Franklin WV. Coffee on the front porch and sleeping to the sound of running creek water was a highlight!

We had a wonderful stay in this lovely, comfortable cabin. We loved the babbling brook, the nightly campfires, breakfast and lunch on the front porch, the swing, the beautiful flowers and nicely kept lawn, the peace and quiet, the sweet welcoming treats of preserves and cookies, the comfortable bed, and exploring the area. Our host was very responsive and has thought of so many nice little touches to make it an easy, enjoyable stay.

This place is absolutely delightful! We loved the privacy, and proximity to parks and mountain trails. It is right next to a gurgling stream and has a great setup for a bonfire. The interior has everything you could need for a fun, cozy vacation.

Very quiet and private. Kitchen was stocked with cooking necessities and had some seasoning, flour, and sugar. Host was great about returning messages and making your stay comfortable. Came to a warm cabin because they started the woodstove for us. They also left snacks and cookies. The cabin was in a good location. Close enough to the main road, but far enough it was quiet and peaceful. It was nice sitting outside by the fire and not seeing anyone or hearing traffic go by.

This beautiful log cabin is tucked up against a babbling creek in a private location. The only noises you hear are the ones from nature. Everything you need for a comfortable stress-free stay is included. My husband and I visited this location for a bike race high in the mountains and this cabin was the perfect place to recover. I took advantage of the claw foot tub for a good post-race soak, and we spent many hours on the front porch. The bed was comfortable and you are lulled to sleep at night by the gentle water flowing in the stream and distant hoots of owl. This is the perfect spot to jump into outdoor exploration/recreation.

Love the location nestled in the woods, the quiet brook burbling past the firepit, the homey pinewood interior, the fully stocked kitchen, the delicious jam and cookies gift. We stayed two nights while climbing Nelson Rocks and wish we had stayed longer. Thanks so much for your hospitality...if I owned a cabin like that, I'd never leave!

We love this cabin. It’s rustic and beautiful. If you’re looking for peace and serenity, this is the place. We can’t wait to come back when the leaves are on the trees. The stream that runs beside the cabin is just perfect. We couldn’t have asked for a better setting. There were fresh flowers, home baked cookies and homemade jelly waiting on the table for us when we arrived. The cabin is clean and cozy. Pretty sure my husband wants to move in full time!

The cabin is a quiet oasis in the mountains of West Virginia. It is conveniently located near wonderful nature destinations of Northern WV to include Seneca Rocks & Cavern, Blackwater Falls and Pine Knob. We had deer great us daily and enjoyed sightings of turkey and hawks on the property. Although surrounded by nature, it's easy to get to Rt 33, 28 and 220 making it easy to navigate to any adventure. The cabin was spotless and is an ideal retreat.

Alpha's Log Cabin in the woods exceeded our expectations held when we selected this location for our 37th anniversary get-away. The cabin itself is a wonderful lodging place located on a beautiful secluded wooded site where no other dwellings are in view, with a well-kept small yard and attractive flower/shrub beds that all served to give us a nestled-in, very comfortable feeling. The specially themed cabin was very tidy and amenities very well organized; we felt right at home. Dinah even graciously provided us with the added special touch of anniversary best wishes complete with tasty cookies and jam! Adding to an already-superb setting, Alpha's Log Cabin comes complete with a babbling brook that one can view right from the front porch (while relaxing and sipping on hot coffee), front and back yards, and even from the kitchen window! During our stay we thoroughly enjoyed the gurgling sounds of this creek as the water flowed across the rocky streambed. Several different songbirds, including a whip-poor-will with its night song, provided great background music. With all of these experiences in hand, we absolutely loved our anniversary get-away stay at Alpha's Log Cabin!

This cabin was everything it is described to be and more! Very clean and wonderfully decorated! It was so quiet and peaceful! The cabin is very well stocked and all the perfect little touches, like the homemade jelly and cookies! We will definitely be back!!

It was a great Cabin and very well maintained! Very close to Franklin, Seneca Rock, and Spruce Knob! All great places we visited! And Fisher Mountain Golf Course is close and it was probably the coolest course I’ve ever played at!

We had an absolutely amazing time. There were so many thoughtful aspects put into the property from things you may have forgotten to things to do. It was so peaceful and homey. Everything was spotless and clean. We will be back for a summer trip. The snow we got to see was the cherry on top of the trip.

I cannot tell you how sweet and charming this cabin is in words! It sits far back off the main road, at the end of a private gravel side road. In the morning we could hear the moo's of cattle in a neighboring pasture faintly echo off the hillsides. It had a big front porch for drinking coffee on. The host has a little bit of everything you could need while keeping the cabin very organized and nicely decorated. She was thoughtful without being overbearing or having any tedious requests. It was a little distance from Seneca Rocks as you have to navigate around the curvey mountain pass. German Valley is on the way though and it gives you something to stop and admire on your way in and out that direction. I will brag to everyone about the little cabin in the woods!

My wife and I stayed the weekend for an anniversary getaway. The cabin was perfect! It had everything we needed and was so cozy and comfortable. My wife especially enjoyed the old cast iron tub! We enjoyed exploring and off-roading with our Jeep durning the day, and cooking amazing meals together at night. The kitchen was well stocked with cooking equipment. Dianh was a wonderful host and very accommodating. We would definitely like to come back for another stay at some point.

For my wife’s birthday weekend I surprised her with a trip to this mountain getaway, and it couldn’t have been more perfect. The hostess had a few birthday surprises for my wife which was very thoughtful. She was also very responsive when it came to contacting her for questions or for suggestions on what to do in the area. The cabin was amazing, very clean warm and inviting. Everything that you could need was available, from the bath towels to coffee maker. My husband and I stayed here for my birthday / Valentines Day. It was the perfect little cozy getaway from the moment we walked in the doors! Dinah had a fire going for us so it was already nice and warm, the cabin was super clean and looked just like the pictures if not better! Kitchen was stocked with utensils and cookware and made cooking our meals a breeze. No service but the WiFi was fast and easy to connect to. Absolutely zero complaints, we both loved it and will be coming back!

Kitchen was stocked with utensils and cookware and made cooking our meals a breeze. No service but the WiFi was fast and easy to connect to. We had a lovely experience celebrating our son’s birthday here—Dinah added thoughtful special touches that were a lovely surprise. The cabin is well stocked with everything you might need. The location is accessible but remote enough to be off the beaten path, not have road noise and have an incredible dark night sky. Dinah was incredibly responsive to our queries as they came along. Very quiet and private. Kitchen was stocked with cooking necessities and had some seasoning, flour, and sugar. Host was great about returning messages and making your stay comfortable. Came to a warm cabin because they started the woodstove for us. They also left snacks and cookies. The cabin was in a good location. Close enough to the main road, but far enough it was quiet and peaceful. It was nice sitting outside by the fire and not seeing anyone or hearing traffic go by.

Wow, Dinah was wonderful about giving accurate directions to her charming cabin. So many thoughtful touches made us feel welcome. We had everything we needed for a delightful two-night stay. We enjoyed a hike at the Dolly Sods (1.5 hr drive) and lunch at the Gateway Family Restaurant. The check in process was simple: You arrive and key in the passcode you're given to enter the cabin. There are plenty of hiking opportunities in the area. We hiked up to Dolly Sods (Be aware 75 and 19 are closed in the winter and you have to hike to the top), Seneca Rocks, the Fire Tower Overlook, Stony Man (in VA), and visited the Smoke Hole Caverns. We tried to go to Spruce Knob, but beware: If you see snow on the mountain tops, DO NOT attempt unless you are driving an SUV/Truck with AWD and snow tires or chains. There are no guard rails and the road got so bad we had no choice but to turn around after being forced to continue up the road until reaching an area wide enough for a 5-point turn. It was a terrifying, albeit fun, experience, but keep in mind that the road is notoriously dangerous in the snow. The cabin itself has a space heater, fireplace, and plenty of wood provided on the porch. If you've read other reviews, you may have come across the one about the blinds, of which the owner has since installed. They really care about their guests, and you can reach out about any questions or concerns you may have. I highly recommend this cabin; the only downside was that we only stayed 3 nights. I look forward to coming back!

This was a short get away just to relax. We couldn't believe how thoughtful our host was. She thought of everything, and I do mean everything! We had a wonderful stay and were very appreciative of how nice the cabin is. We loved it and will be booking again in the future! Perfect place to just go and be quiet. I'd mark it more than 5 stars if I could!

My wife and I had an enjoyable 4 night anniversary stay at this little cabin. The drive back the lane made it feel away from the world but it was still only a couple miles from the quaint town of Franklin WV. Coffee on the front porch and sleeping to the sound of running creek water was a highlight!

I cannot tell you how sweet and charming this cabin is in words! It sits far back off the main road, at the end of a private gravel side road. In the morning we could hear the moo's of cattle in a neighboring pasture faintly echo off the hillsides. It had a big front porch for drinking coffee on. The host has a little bit of everything you could need while keeping the cabin very organized and nicely decorated. She was thoughtful without being overbearing or having any tedious requests. It was a little distance from Seneca Rocks as you have to navigate around the curvey mountain pass. German Valley is on the way though and it gives you something to stop and admire on your way in and out that direction. I will brag to everyone about the little cabin in the woods!

It is conveniently located near wonderful nature destinations of Northern WV to include Seneca Rocks & Cavern, Blackwater Falls and Pine Knob. We had deer great us daily and enjoyed sightings of turkey and hawks on the property. Although surrounded by nature, it's easy to get to Rt 33, 28 and 220 making it easy to navigate to any adventure. The cabin was spotless and is an ideal retreat.

This place is absolutely delightful! We loved the privacy, and proximity to parks and mountain trails. It is right next to a gurgling stream and has a great setup for a bonfire. The interior has everything you could need for a fun, cozy vacation.

It was a great Cabin and very well maintained! Very close to Franklin, Seneca Rock, and Spruce Knob! All great places we visited! And Fisher Mountain Golf Course is close and it was probably the coolest course I’ve ever played at!

There is no central AC at this location. The front porch is absolutely beautiful. The bed is pretty darn comfortable. don't be afraid of bugs, lots of carpenter ants. Overall a good trip.

gorgeous place up in the woods. you wont see a neighbor or traffic. nice little brook out back with an excellent sound. Front porch rockin' chairs were a favorite. Franklin WV is 4 miles away with a few restaurants and groceries if you care. Kitchen was great and had all the necessary things. turn off all the lights and step outside at night and it is pitch black except for the stars. WIFI was very handy and TV had Samsung streaming apps.

Cute and quaint remote cabin! Very private. Our kids loved the creek. Cabin was clean and well stocked (I didn't even need the extra toilet paper I packed). Cabin has both indoor and outdoor games in the hall closet and on the porch. I would suggest arriving the first time in the daylight as GPS doesn't find this address. Dinah provided written directions from the Amoco station that took us right to the cabin. The host was great! Our kids left an Amazon Fire tablet behind (it had gotten kicked under the couch). Dinah found it and contacted me a few hours after we checked out. She mailed the tablet to me! What honesty and great customer service.
