What guests think

Travelers Inn Eugene University offers simple, budget-friendly stays with many reports of clean rooms and very friendly, hands-on owners, plus a highly walkable location near the University and downtown, though traffic and student noise can be an issue.

Amenities are basic: no on-site breakfast or extra amenities, parking is available but tight, and occasional issues like a broken ice machine are reported. Several guests praised remodeled showers, while others noted firm or worn mattresses, small rooms, and low water pressure or temperature fluctuations. Some reviews mention busy surroundings near a 7-11 and foot traffic that can feel sketchy. Overall, it suits travelers who prioritize value and practicality over amenities.

What appears to be a family run business provides excellent customer service. It's also nice to have parking. The major fix has got to be the sundries. The soap and shampoo packets were hard to open and not enough for females with long hair. Go to the wall containers.

To be fair, this motel is probably priced lower than bigger chain alternatives in the city. It is not a part of a chain, so you can\'t expect everything to be "new" and shiny. There is no pool or any amenities like that. The room was clean, but the physical structure a bit "worn", doors didn\'t close easily, sink had been "repaired". The shower seemed relative new though, and the tiles were all clean and in good shape. The TV worked fine and the internet connection was good also. The towels seemed mismatched and were old though. The bed was ready for a new mattress as well. I prepaid online beforehand, but they took a $50 deposit on my card when I arrived anyway, but that was quickly refunded a day or two after I returned home. I did not have to ask or bug them about it. Would I stay here again? Maybe. It is a somewhat convenient location, and priced lower than most of the chains...

It was worth what you pay for it. Clean, convenient location. But next door is a 7/11 that seems to draw quite the homeless crowd and on the backside are 2 pretty loud frat houses, so it is loud late into the evening between the 2 and then a neighborhood cat comes and wakes you up at 5am. Parking for just 1 car.

The property manager waited up for our late check in which we really appreciated. However, the property was so unsafe with slew of homeless and drug induced people in the immediate vicinity of the property, my daughter and I felt really unsafe. There were limited parking as well. The amenities were limited since it was a low budget motel, but the walls were so incredibly thin that we were woken up I. The middle of the night by a family on the top floor above us who stomped around the room all night with a baby crying, an you can hear their conversation. We didn’t get an hour of sleep and couldn’t wait until we got out of there in the morning. Needless to say, this had to be the worst property we stayed in and will not be returning anytime soon.

Clean enough, though there was some brown schmutz on the toilet-paper and on the sink. Not a deal-breaker for the price, but kinda yuck. No funny smells or stains in the room nor the bed nor the linens, and that's what matters. Stiff mattresses; fine for me, but a matter of preference. Not enough parking if they're at full capacity and I didn't see any free nearby parking. Moderate to high beggar population at immediate city blocks. Had to park in a big puddle of vomit, all other stalls were taken. Perfectly fine if you just need somewhere clean to sleep. Unsuitable for a romantic getaway. Find parking in advance if you're going during busy season. 711 and McDonald's a stone's throw away, very convenient to start the day.

This is the second time I've stayed at the Travelers Inn in Eugene. I returned because of its convenient location and affordability, considering I don't require a premium hotel when traveling alone. My room appeared to have been recently refurbished, and was much nicer than outside appearances and the location would suggest. On my previous stay, I had a room on the 1st level, but down a hallway. This time, I had a second floor room with a balcony, facing the street. I think that contributed to my greater sensitivity to the sound of nearby trains during the night. I liked that the room had a refrigerator, which was very much like a wine fridge, but disliked that the temperature control was either nonfunctional or disabled. I also had to tuck in the window curtains to minimize the bright balcony light from disrupting my sleep. Why is there no wall switch for that? Lastly, the shower is decent, but had the lowest water pressure I've ever seen. Good thing my wife wasn't with me. She complains when she can't rinse the conditioner out of her hair.

It was a really nice room with a balcony. At check in the person at the desk was pleasant and professional. The room was furnished with a good style and everything felt fresh, and bathroom fixtures were new and clean. Only downside (and it doesn't have anything to do with the motel itself) - It is on a noisy street across from student housing. Location is good for not just campus, but downtown too.

This property is on a busy road, in a parking lot, near a good mexican restaurant, a bar, a MacDonalds, and a pizza place. You can walk easily to the wonderful downtown area, or the University. There was a fair amount of discarded construction material and other clutter on the balcony directly outside our door. Our other window looked out onto an air conditioner on a scruffy flat roof. The place is very clean and comfortable, run by nice, helpful people, but if you can afford it, you may want a place that's prettier.
