What guests think

Across many reviews of Quality Inn & Suites Prairie Du Chien, travelers note generally clean, spacious rooms and practical amenities, alongside an older feel with occasional maintenance, Wi‑Fi, and breakfast inconsistencies.

Most describe the team as helpful and welcoming, though a few report slow or unfriendly service, key‑card hassles, or confusion about housekeeping on request. Rooms are often roomy and comfortable but dated or themed, with intermittent issues like malfunctioning TVs/remotes, noisy AC, dim lighting, or very small bathrooms and pillows. Facilities such as the pool and hot tub are appreciated, yet there are occasional closures, a small hot tub, a dark pool area, and limited parking with no elevator. Overall, expect a budget‑friendly, convenient stay with some trade‑offs.

This was a really great place and I recommend it. They had complimentary juice and coffee 24/7. Great pool and hot tub. Room was really roomy with a pull out couch and refrigerator and microwave all for a great price! I had one complaint, something smelly was in the furnace and really stunk up the room. Once they get that fixed though, I have no complaints and would very much recommend.

You get what you pay for...Very outdated. Bed was decent. Bathtub looked very dirty. Stained towels. Lots of guests having issues with their keys because its the old style slider keys. No elevator. Breakfast was very limited. Whole first floor smelled like a weed shop. Parking was fine for us, but no RV or trailer parking. We booked a king room with sofa bed per expedia, but when we got there they said that wasnt what our reservation showed. We had to ask to get the room we booked and they did have it available, but be aware. Hot tub was hot, but small. Pool was decent, but the area is very dark and limited lighting.

This was the best motel that we have stayed in for years! The room was clean, the breakfast was good, the pool was the warmest I've ever been in, it was perfect! I am looking forward to the next time I travel there to that part of the state.

The room was pleasant enough; however, there were issues. The toilet ran off and on for the entire stay, and the fitted sheet had a dried blood stain. Other inconveniences in the room were the dim lighting and the mini-fridge's inability to keep items cold. Other issues included Wi-Fi being unavailable until late evening and key cards losing their coding on the second day.

The good: The "log cabin" walls were kind of cute, and the canopy bed was cute and comfortable. The bathroom seemed excellently clean, and the shower had plenty of water pressure. The tap water also tasted nice. The bad: The room was dark and smelled of old smoke. There was a gray stain on the sheets (dropped ash?), which were microfiber. Some like those - I think they feel plasticky. The whirlpool took up half the room and was surrounded with mirrors (gross, unless you look like a pinup, which alas I don't). There was no desk. The carpet was old and ugly. Generally kind of a depressing atmosphere. The breakfast was mostly yucky (cold eggs, weird-tasting potatoes), and the coffee was so weak it was undrinkable.

Staff was very nice. However, they upgraded us to a king whirlpool room from a king room, which we really did not prefer. It took up so much space in the room, which was quite dated, with a very small bathroom area. The room was very clean though. And the staff notified us we had left behind something, and they will be sending it to us. This was much appreciated!

Lack of communication that they only do room service (even fresh towels) upon request. Night staff SUPER rude and mean when asking about the lack of room service. Conditioner in shower was empty. Refrig/freezer was turned down to low, so we had spoiled food. Vent in bathroom turned itself on and off continuously and SUPER load at night. AC unit was extremely load and making noises.
