I was very surprised at the poor quality of rooms & facilities at this hotel. I had paid a higher than average hotel fee for Albania, assuming that I'd get a nice place. The only good thing was the location -- very central. Here is what the room & hotel conditions were like: - Our bathroom sink clogged & would have overflown if we didn't stop using it whenever it filled up. - The shower head was dirty. - There were actual holes in the sheets and pillowcases. - The hot tub in the spa was empty and the water hose to fill it both didn't have hot water and leaked. - The heat/steam in the sauna was turned off and there were no instructions or staff available to turn it back on and make it usable. I'll attach pictures of all of these if the system allows.

Il problema è l'odore di fumo che proviene dal primo piano, dove la sera frequentemente alcuni ospiti e non si trovano a fumare i sigari esposti in una vetrina dell'albergo. Secondo problema è la piscina che non è MAI stata agibile durante il mio soggiorno di ben 15 giorni. Questo non era segnalato al momento della prenotazione. Mi aspettavo almeno una riduzione del prezzo della camera, dato che l'a presenza della piscina è fortemente pubblicizzata ed è uno dei motivi per cui ho scelto questo albergo, ma nessuno sconto... Its hard to judge hotels standards between countries and certainly in Albania one has to keep a slightly open mind and judgement, but all in all I think this was worth the price we paid. The location is very very convenient, the rooms are fine. It feels quite fun being directly opposite the old dictators "as it was" 60s house.The biggest negative was the so called gym. Just about everything in there was broken so it was a bit of a swizz to include it in the description to be frank. I also loved arriving late in the day to ask at the bar "can we get anything to eat" to be told "no". But I guess thats the Albanian way - tell it how it is. Mind you we had some lovely meals nearby - some top notch restaurants in Tirana these days,.

The two girls in the reception were very friendly and helpful. Also the guy in the bar. They all gave us info restaurants exchanges transport etc. hotel is comfy gym was big and a good selection of machines. Swimming pool was small but nice to swim in and cool down. Breakfast was also good and had everything i usually have for breakfast.

A bit pretentious title for an ordinary city hotel. Half the machines in the Gym did not work. The Spa was not nice and old. The elevator extremely slow and in general the hotel fairly worn. OK price if that is what is most important

We didn’t use the bar. The staff were very friendly polite & helpful especially the reception staff Alex, Hegi& Sidorela. The house keeping was not to our standards as there were No shower caps until the last night of our stay, No bath robes. We were not happy about the smoking in the hotel as we could smell the smoke in the hallway & in our room which was coming from the restaurant/breakfast room. We were also not happy with the Tea & Coffee kettles has one morning I got scolded with the hot water & there was no Anti Septic cream within the hotel. We feel that the hotel should rethink about maybe putting in a Tea/Coffee machine also the food was running out by 09:30 like no fresh croissants. But overall my sister & I had a great trip as where the hotel is situated was great as we walked very where.

The room was very nice, clean and had a good view. My main complaint was with front desk staff not being very helpful. No sympathy whatsoever when I arrived earlier than check in time- I understand not being able to give me a room an hour early, but they could have suggested I take advantage of the bar or spa. No menu or information about spa services anywhere. Requested some toiletry items I forgot at home and they were not helpful- didn't have it, didn't suggest where I could get it. When I asked about visiting a local attraction and how best to get there they said a taxi would be best but didn't offer to call one for me or tell me where to find one. Polite but didn't make my life easier.

For some reason hotel received a booking for different room type than I had reserved through Expedia. Very helpful receptionist fixed that quickly. Hotel itself could use a little refreshment, but everything was clean and bed was comfortable, that's what really matters. Good location only a few minutes walk from the artificial lake, lots of shops and cafes around.

The room was clean and welcoming, and the bed was amazing! The mini bar is well stocked. There was a kettle, etc, for hot drinks, but only tea? There was a bit of a glitch when we went to book in; our rooms were not ready, and I felt that the receptionist wasn't very engaging. She told us it would be about 10 - 15 mins, 1 hour later, we were still waiting with no real apology. Although I will say that she apologised at checkout then.

Everything about the hotel was exceptional. It was clean, stylish, roomy with excellent service. Food was good and great value for money and service was attentive and efficient. The breakfast was nice - except for the coffee. It was the worst coffe ever. The food that are supposed to be warm, could be more warm.. The smoke from the smoking in the bar and in the restaurant in the evening (owner??) was so heavy - we could smell it on the 4. floor. It is not okay, when we have a non-smoking room. The location is really great for everything - but noisy from construktionwork right outside and the music from the restaurants, so remember earplugs. Our room was nice and very clean. The bar-area boring and to much smoke so we went elsewhere. Didn’ t use the “spa”. Only to people could sit or lay down - we were four. The staff is very helpfull and friendly.

Hotellet er godt placeret i byen. Værelserne har god størrelse. Hotellets morgenmad er mangelfuld og buffeten bliver ikke løbende fyldt op som gæsterne spiser (eller det bliver gjort meget langsomt), så man ender med at kæmpe om den resterende mad med de andre gæster - og få en ubrugelig kop kaffe, der har stået og kogt alt for længe. Meget ringe morgenmad.
Hotellet er godt placeret i byen. Værelserne har god størrelse. Hotellets morgenmad er mangelfuld og buffeten bliver ikke løbende fyldt op som gæsterne spiser (eller det bliver gjort meget langsomt), så man ender med at kæmpe om den resterende mad med de andre gæster - og få en ubrugelig kop kaffe, der har stået og kogt alt for længe. Meget ringe morgenmad.

Vi var fire som bodde en uke på Grand Hotel & SPA i september. Det er et koselig og rolig hotell som ligger perfekt til for utflukter i Tirana. Vi ble godt mottatt i resepsjonen. Rommene var romslige, og rensligheten var god. Vi har bare én ting å merke oss om oppholdet. Vi manglet en stol på balkongen vår som vi aldri fikk selv om vi fortalte resepsjonen om det flere ganger. Vi var i bassenget et par ganger og det var ganske OK selv om det var veldig varmt i både garderoben og bassengområdet. Frokosten var god. Jeg vil fremheve bartenderen som en spesielt kreativ og hjelpsom person. Han lot ikke det faktum at han ikke hadde laget irsk kaffe før stoppe ham. Han googlet oppskriften og lagde en deilig irsk kaffe til oss. Jeg kan trygt anbefale Grand Hotel & SPA og kommer gjerne tilbake

We had booked a room with a double bed and they gave us a twin bed. They only half sorted it out. The bed was not very comfortable either. There was a good buffet choice for breakfast. We had booked a room with a balcony. However, we couldn't use it much because of smokers and all the noisy building construction over the road. The hotel is definitely over rated and expensive.

A very kind and helpful staff. The room was clean and comfortable, but is advertised as soundproofed; apparently this is not enough to keep out the noise from the Salsa bar across the street, which plays loud music into the mornings on weekends. Minibar needs a pricelist.

The room was very nice, clean and had a good view. My main complaint was with front desk staff not being very helpful. No sympathy whatsoever when I arrived earlier than check in time- I understand not being able to give me a room an hour early, but they could have suggested I take advantage of the bar or spa. No menu or information about spa services anywhere. Requested some toiletry items I forgot at home and they were not helpful- didn't have it, didn't suggest where I could get it. When I asked about visiting a local attraction and how best to get there they said a taxi would be best but didn't offer to call one for me or tell me where to find one. Polite but didn't make my life easier.

Den forud bestilte taxa stod klar da vi kom ud af lufthavnen. Sød og god chauffør. Af minus til hotellet skal siges at der flere aftener var en tung lugt af cigar på hotellet som vi også påtalte. Det var så slemt at lugten trængte ind på værelset på 4. Sal og røgen kom fra stueetagen. Kaffen om morgenen var vanvittig dårlig. The room was clean and welcoming, and the bed was amazing! The mini bar is well stocked. There was a kettle, etc, for hot drinks, but only tea? There was a bit of a glitch when we went to book in; our rooms were not ready, and I felt that the receptionist wasn't very engaging. She told us it would be about 10 - 15 mins, 1 hour later, we were still waiting with no real apology. Although I will say that she apologised at checkout then.

The two girls in the reception were very friendly and helpful. Also the guy in the bar. They all gave us info restaurants exchanges transport etc. hotel is comfy gym was big and a good selection of machines. Swimming pool was small but nice to swim in and cool down. Breakfast was also good and had everything i usually have for breakfast.

For some reason hotel received a booking for different room type than I had reserved through Expedia. Very helpful receptionist fixed that quickly. Hotel itself could use a little refreshment, but everything was clean and bed was comfortable, that's what really matters. Good location only a few minutes walk from the artificial lake, lots of shops and cafes around.

The breakfast was nice - except for the coffee. It was the worst coffe ever. The food that are supposed to be warm, could be more warm.. The smoke from the smoking in the bar and in the restaurant in the evening (owner??) was so heavy - we could smell it on the 4. floor. It is not okay, when we have a non-smoking room. The location is really great for everything - but noisy from construktionwork right outside and the music from the restaurants, so remember earplugs. Our room was nice and very clean. The bar-area boring and to much smoke so we went elsewhere. Didn’ t use the “spa”. Only to people could sit or lay down - we were four. The staff is very helpfull and friendly.

A very kind and helpful staff. The room was clean and comfortable, but is advertised as soundproofed; apparently this is not enough to keep out the noise from the Salsa bar across the street, which plays loud music into the mornings on weekends. Minibar needs a pricelist.

Das Hotel entsprach unseren Erwartungen. Es war ca 20 Minuten zu Fuß vom Busbahnhof entfernt und ist im Herzen des Geschehens. Rundherum gab es viele Restaurants und Bars, sodass man es nicht weit hatte, wenn man ausgehen wollte. Würden wir bei einem erneuten Besuch wieder buchen.

We didn’t use the bar. The staff were very friendly polite & helpful especially the reception staff Alex, Hegi& Sidorela. The house keeping was not to our standards as there were No shower caps until the last night of our stay, No bath robes. We were not happy about the smoking in the hotel as we could smell the smoke in the hallway & in our room which was coming from the restaurant/breakfast room. We were also not happy with the Tea & Coffee kettles has one morning I got scolded with the hot water & there was no Anti Septic cream within the hotel. We feel that the hotel should rethink about maybe putting in a Tea/Coffee machine also the food was running out by 09:30 like no fresh croissants. But overall my sister & I had a great trip as where the hotel is situated was great as we walked very where.

Hotellet er godt placeret i byen. Værelserne har god størrelse. Hotellets morgenmad er mangelfuld og buffeten bliver ikke løbende fyldt op som gæsterne spiser (eller det bliver gjort meget langsomt), så man ender med at kæmpe om den resterende mad med de andre gæster - og få en ubrugelig kop kaffe, der har stået og kogt alt for længe. Meget ringe morgenmad.

Vi var fire som bodde en uke på Grand Hotel & SPA i september. Det er et koselig og rolig hotell som ligger perfekt til for utflukter i Tirana. Vi ble godt mottatt i resepsjonen. Rommene var romslige, og rensligheten var god. Vi har bare én ting å merke oss om oppholdet. Vi manglet en stol på balkongen vår som vi aldri fikk selv om vi fortalte resepsjonen om det flere ganger. Vi var i bassenget et par ganger og det var ganske OK selv om det var veldig varmt i både garderoben og bassengområdet. Frokosten var god. Jeg vil fremheve bartenderen som en spesielt kreativ og hjelpsom person. Han lot ikke det faktum at han ikke hadde laget irsk kaffe før stoppe ham. Han googlet oppskriften og lagde en deilig irsk kaffe til oss. Jeg kan trygt anbefale Grand Hotel & SPA og kommer gjerne tilbake

The hotel was in a good location and the room was comfortable and clean with a balcony. However, although there was a kettle, no coffee was provided. The breakfast had a great variety but, on both mornings of our stay, the 'hot" choices such as egg, bacon and sausage were cold!

Very good hotel in a great location - opposite the former dictators villa in the stylish blloku district and a short walk from the centre and major sites. Though fairly dated it was very clean and the 80/90s decor actually added to the feel! Breakfast was very good and we frequently had the steam room and pool to ourselves after a busy day exploring. Room was spacious and everything worked including the aircon. Staff were friendly and helpful.
