The Kennebunk Inn

We enjoyed Kennebunk Inn, being so historical and right in the middle of downtown. Like the coffee and tea amenities. Nice bath products. Bed was comfy, but squeaky. Hot water came quicker than in the note of 8 min., thank you! It was noisy early morning with garbage truck and traffic. We were in the last room, so hauling luggage up 3 staircases was not fun. Wished all restaurants nearby were open on the day we were there. We would recommend Kennebunk Inn!

Very clean, staff friendly and helpful. As a retired person being placed on the third floor without an elevator made carrying even a small suitcase up the stairs very difficult.

The kids loved the maze of stairways and exploring. The claw-foot tub wasn't the most convenient for my tall husband, but fine for everyone else. The staff here is AMAZING, Angela is a wealth of knowledge on the area and made some great recommendations off the regular 'tourist' path!

Service was amazing the staff were so personable they gave great recommendations and accommodation for food issues. However would be nice if they had an elevator for the elderly.

It was a 200+year old hotel which brought in all the charm and memories from that era. Customer service was exceptional. There are no elevators so be sure you can manage the stairs.

It is a lovely old building right on Main Street in a convenient location. Friendly staff and guests. However, there is no elevator to access the rooms Climbing stairs was difficult with suitcases. Also, no WiFi kept going out.

Friendly staff, beautiful old inn, charming patio/garden area, excellent tavern food and beverages.

The only thing I did not like was no elevator and we were on the 3rd floor

Loved this place. Just what you want in an Inn. Great bar and happy hour. Great coffee and cookies. Skating rink right beside Inn. Bring your skates. French bakery in the back of the building. Dog friendly.

This place has a certain charm, bit old fashioned, sloping floors and doors and no frills. However, it could do with a refresh. We were placed on the upper floor at the end of a long corridor that could do with a new lick of paint and some pictures on the wall even, maybe even a rug on the noisy wooden floor. That said, the room was warm and bedding / bathroom were clean. Unfortunately there is nothing to do in Kennenbunk, all the fun stuff is happening in Kennenbunkport so we found ourselves driving back to Kennenbunkport to hang out and get dinner. Can recommend the bakery behind the Kennenbunk Inn for breakfast though (The Boulangerie), which was just fabulous.

Bathroom sink slow draining, shower curtain was from the dollar store, stairways need carpeting, key was nearly impossible to use to open door. Location is fabulous ..

Very very small rooms but good for a night as we were just passing through. Old home so you can hear people walking in the halls but other than that it was super clean and very cute. Nice touch with coffee and tea in the lobby.

the bed frame was very dusty. paint in the bathroom was chipping. window ac worked well. nice walkable to main st but not a lot going on. Staff was excellent. Was nice to have Saturday am artists market open.

The room was exceptionally clean, very comfortable beds and great water pressure up to the 3rd floor of an old building.

While the staff was incredibly kind, the room we stayed in had a very very* stained pull out couch and mattress, which was difficult to overlook. Little to no water pressure, making it difficult to shower. My family and I appreciated the convenience of this hotel but it definitely needs some tlc. Will not be returning.

The inn is cute and clean. Our shower had zero water pressure. I wouldn’t recommend ladies washing their hair. It was loud in the morning with other guests coming down the stairs and walking around. The staff was very friendly.

Upon check-in, we were given a map of the area and she showed us all the good places to eat, very much appreciated as this was our first time to Kennebunk. The room was small as expected. No space for me to place my toiletries. I had a small night stand to place some things. Bathroom was very small. The sink was too small for me to wash my face, and very low to the ground so I got water all over myself and the floor. TV did not work. Showed we were connected to the network but could not watch any live tv or movies and I kind of needed it to help me fall asleep. Its an old house, creaky floors. We had people above us and they were running/pounding across the floor and then falling down or dropping large objects very late at night keeping me awake. Both nights that we stayed. But it was charming and cute, nice courtyard to sit in. Lots of parking in a lot next door. 8 minute drive to Kennebunkport and beaches. It has a restaurant but its dinner only which was disappointing. Would have been nice to eat breakfast there. There was no room service which I was not aware of. We left the used towels in a pile. When we got back that night, the towels were still on the floor and bed was not made. Instead, there was a paper bag next to all the doors with new towels. So I didnt understand why there was an envelope to tip the maid when she never came into our room.

The air conditioner in the room was too loud and the air blew towards you while in bed. It was difficult to sleep under those conditions.

The king 2 bedroom suite was perfect for our family of 4, so our 16 year old could have his own room. Overall the room was clean and spacious. There were 3 TVs, one in each room, which was nice and unexpected. The staff texts before your arrival and lets you know when your room is due to be clean, we loved having that modern communication from a historic inn. The inn was old but charming, and it was clear recent cosmetic updates were made. Overall we were happy with our stay, the room and ease of check in/check out. The tavern had delicious apps and cocktails but we rarely saw other patrons in it. I would strongly recommend an upgrade to the matresses and pillows. The bed was extremely firm and the mattress creaked whenever you moved on it. We all found the beds difficult to sleep on. A nicer pillowtop mattress and upgraded pillows would go a long way. There is a pickleball court right beside the inn and although the AC drowns out the noise from it, i can imagine the noise would bother me outside of summer. It was busy everyday of the week with people playing from 8am to as late as 10pm. Ending on a positive note, having a clean suite with two bedrooms and a living area was wonderful, that was honestly difficult to find for a similar price in the area.

Tiny room, a little bit too tiny for the price. This place is all about location. Toilet was up on a step, absolutely no amenities in room other than shampoo and soap. Room up two flights of stairs and AC incredibly loud. Very nice staff!

The hotel was nice, the front clerk was kind, and the room was very clean. The bed in room 10 was AWFUL. It sagged on both sides and felt like I was laying on straw that was covering bare coils that were on top of a trampoline. If you sat on the side of the bed, you were then practically sitting on the floor. The hotel is also very loud-it’s a cool building but if you’re a light sleeper it could be a nightmare without a sound machine. I also didn’t love the lack of security at the property; the back door remains unlocked all night but there isn’t someone manning the front desk (from what I could tell).

We had no heat for our stay and no coffee in the morning on either morning. There is never anyone at the desk to talk to about anything. There is a Pickleball court immediately beside the Inn so you get to listen to people play Pickleball all day and into the night. And then the town itself appears to only be open from Wed on. Also the pictures on Expedia are nothing like the rooms which are shabby at best. The worst.

We enjoyed our stay so much we extended it by another night! The rooms were comfortable and charming. The tavern was a great spot for dinner & a drink, and the staff for the inn were all so friendly and helpful and even gave local recommendations. We felt so welcome! We also enjoyed rocking in the rocking chairs in the porch. There is a French bakery behind the inn and we enjoyed it for breakfast each morning. And we also enjoyed walking through the historic district, which is convenient to the inn. We would stay there again in a heartbeat!

There are a few key factors that make this property a 2/5. Firstly, they don’t actually have a bar or restaurant. There used to be both, but they are no longer running. That was one of the amenities I looked forward to, so I was disappointed to see the restaurant and bar sat vacant. Secondly, the woman at the front desk was neither friendly nor helpful when we had questions or needed something. Lastly, the room just wasn’t great. The bed was super uncomfortable. I didn’t sleep well the entire time I was there. The sink in the bathroom was so low I had to hunch over to use it. Just not ideal. To be honest, the only saving grace for this hotel isn’t even in the hotel itself. It’s the Boulangerie out back. There’s an amazing bakery across the parking lot that I highly recommend. I really liked rolling out of bed and grabbing breakfast there.

There were several issues with our stay. They were clearly understaffed because we had some issues and went to speak to front desk and no one was there. We didn’t sleep at all the first night because our room overlooked the ice skating rink next door and although it was closed the music was blaring all night long. The next morning I went downstairs to mention this issue and the desk people knew nothing about it. I find that hard to believe. Our bathroom was horrific. The bedroom was small but somewhat acceptable the bathroom on the other hand was so old. The shower was tiny, the sink even tinier with no place to put simple things like my toothbrush and toothpaste. I could reach the sink from the toilet. There was also an inconvenient step up into the bathroom. The windows had blinds only with zero curtains for room darkening so between the light from the skating rink and the street lights and the music from the rink that was on ALL night long it was a miserable stay

Well maintained property in a great location with ample parking. The proximity to shopping, the beach and restaurants is great. The Inn is charming and full of history.

Great location, and a lovely patio with tables. Farmers market, and craft fair within a short walk also nice French bakery, but with very long lines. Coffee available in the lobby. The staff is very helpful and friendly.

The pickle ball court was rather bothersome

Try nice property in historic inn and while the onsite restaurant only serves a dinner menu there was an excellent French bakery a short walk away behind the inn for breakfast and dessert

We stayed at the Kennebunk Inn for two nights. The two members of your staff, Megan and Adrian, made our stay more delightful. We were sad that there was no dining room, and your tavern had very limited hours. You might want to update that you’re renovating the dining room on your website. That being said, we will definitely be back.

Darling Inn in Kennebunk. Loved the antique feel with modern conveniences. Creaky floors, comfy bed, hot shower, nightly cookies. Only wished the Tavern was open more days. The timing of our trip only let us have a cocktail one night. Would have loved to dine there as well.

It was good. Nice town and good accommodations. The bakery behind the Inn is a must. I would return.

The Inn is very clean and the staff very friendly. The location is great. The restaurant is closed, so they dont offer breakfast and that was kind of a turnoff. They didn't disclose it does not have an elevator, we got a 3erd floor room and I have trouble going up stairs, all the first floor rooms were booked and they had an available one on the 2nd floor but they wanted to charge us more money for it, so they were not very accommodating in that sense.
