What guests think

Reviews of Aloft Columbia Harbison describe friendly, accommodating staff and a modern, convenient base near shopping and dining, with many guests finding clean, comfortable rooms and appreciating the pet-friendly vibe.

Common downsides include late-night noise from the bar or other guests and inconsistent housekeeping or maintenance, such as soft or sagging mattresses, broken bathroom doors, odors, occasional pests, and TV, AC or plumbing issues. Facilities feedback is mixed: the bar is popular, but the pool’s availability can be limited, the parking lot has potholes, and an elevator outage was noted. Dining is mostly grab-and-go with a bar; breakfast isn’t complimentary and some reported quality or availability problems. Expect a stylish, social stay that favors location and service over quiet or full-service amenities.

I was disappointed with my stay for several reasons. Upon check-in, I was informed that the room I originally booked and paid for in full was no longer available. I was told this was due to booking through a third-party site, which I found frustrating—especially since I’ve never had this issue before when booking in advance. I was placed in a different room, but unfortunately, the bathroom door was broken. When I brought it up to the front desk, I was told that all the bathroom doors are broken and that maintenance might be able to fix it. Additionally, the pool was out of order, which wasn’t communicated ahead of time. The next morning, I went to get breakfast from the lobby and found the bagels were stale—and two of them even had visible mold. On the final night of my stay, I witnessed a woman bathing herself in the sink of the lobby bathroom, which was very concerning. While the staff were friendly, the overall experience and the way the business was run left a lot to be desired. For the amount I paid, I expected a much higher standard and fewer issues.

If you're going because you want to relax, maybe it's not for you. A lot of out of area workers stay there. Everyone we met, including staff, was very nice. 1st room didn't have shampoo & tv didn't work. We swapped rooms which was better. Still had tv issues. Beds were ok, until were looked under sheets & saw large rust color stain in top corner of mattress, we didn't spend the following night there. Pillows are really comfy. We stayed a week. Woke to vomit all over hallway on 1st day. I assume it's from the prior evening when the bar downstairs was packed. Contacted front desk & it was taken care of immediately. You can't unsee it when walking past. The irony is I chose this hotel because of the bar. Thought it would be nice to have a drink at the pool or once we returned to wind down, those plans changed. Pool is nice & small around 5ft deep. Only 5 lounge chairs which wasn't enough once people starting coming down for wkend. Plenty of chairs. House cleaning never came. I had to chase them for fresh towels & told to leave trash in hallway. Btw, Don't bother separating recyclables, it all goes in 1 bag. They allow dogs. One day we returned to see police at the entrance. Later I was told by another guest someone w/multiple dogs had to be removed because of smell & not paying. Im unable to personally verify this, only police. Breakfast is expensive, no restaurant in hotel but plenty around, can walk or delivery. Staff was friendly but will look elsewhere in future

The property is nice, The bar tenders service was amazing her name is (Heidi). Only bad thing was the false advertisement of the pool being open to not be opened until the day after we checked out which was the reason for our stay the pool.

We had one hour to check in and get ready to meet friends downtown for dinner and a show. Once we finally got our room (they had to “clean” our room knowing I had a a reservation for that day), we discovered that the mattress on the sleeper sofa had significant traces of blood splatter on it. It looked like a crime scene. The head house keeper was supposed to come check this and sent 2 housekeepers instead. They were actually got flip the blood stained mattress and put bedding on it. We stopped them abruptly. There was a grape and dirty fork in the bar sink in our suite. Supposedly, they were fully booked, but had another room that one of could have had. That did not make sense if they were at capacity. I had made my reservation about 2 weeks ago. That room was utterly unacceptable for anyone to stay in. Fortunately, they secured a room at the hotel next door for us. With all of the changes, we were late to dinner with our friends which was extremely stressful. Aloft is supposed to be an upscale hotel and this one in particular reminded me of a brothel! Thoroughly disgusted and disappointed by the accommodations there.

Overll it's a nice hotel. My biggest complaint was the bed!!!! The bed had a freaking sink hole in it! I called to see if we could get another room and was told they had no more suites. We were so uncomfortable that night! They could do a little better with the cleaning. There were a few spots on the floor by the door that was over looked by the mop. There were some stains on the couch and the ironing board was nasty! Would I stay again......probably not.

Hotel and room are spacious and pretty. The bed is also very comfortable. The shower head was not working properly and it was very obvious that the room wasn't cleaned thoroughly because I could see dirt in the corners of the room and bathroom. At check in, the front office agent didn't even tell me about the hotel or entities. Just, here are your keys. Really unprofessional and not assistive at all.

Overall our stay was ok. However, we were given room 210 and the front of the room opens to the lobby/bar area and the back of the room is over the outdoor patio/bar. Because of its location and it being a Saturday night the noise level was off the charts. We could hear all of the socializing, music, and banter into the night. It made it difficult to sleep.

The customer service and room was great. I'm pleased with the stay but i was charged on my bank statement an extra $95 that was said to be a mistake. They were suppose to charge that to the booking site I used. Although they said they'd refund the money to my account, I don't like the fact that if I hadn't caught that charge, I would've paid almost an extra hundred dollars for my stay.

So I paid on Expedia when I got to the hotel I needed to give a card to hold which was OK upon checking my bank account I was charged and now I’m having a hard time getting a refund for that extra charge and at this point, I’m not excited about being charged double without an explanation I was told I was gonna get a refund by one of the front desk staff upon checking in with my bank. There is no refund and I don’t see it reflecting in my account. I just want a refund on that extra charge it should not be this difficult to fix something that I didn’t create
