La Quinta Inn & Suites by Wyndham Memphis East

What guests think

Reviews of La Quinta Inn & Suites by Wyndham Memphis East describe a newer, clean property with spacious rooms and friendly staff, convenient highway access, and pet-friendly policies, but recurring complaints about breakfast and some service or maintenance issues.

Many guests praise the modern look and quiet setting, though some experienced noise near exit doors or from other rooms. Housekeeping during multi-night stays and in-room features like Wi‑Fi, water pressure, and bed comfort received mixed feedback. Location is handy to I‑40 but a bit tucked away, and perceptions of area safety vary. Overall, expect a clean, contemporary, budget-friendly stay with uneven breakfast and a few rough edges.

Room climate excellent, breakfast was a bust, staff kind and friendly, stay was 2 weeks and no one cleaned room unless i asked the front desk or replenished towels or toilet paper. Area perfect.Coffee and hot tea 24/7. But only 1 washer and dryer with it being an eventful week and weekend in the city.

The hotel is a beautiful, new, contemporary stay in the Bartlett/Memphis area. My only issue was their choice of bedding. We had a reservation for a king-sized bed and were given two queen-sized instead. But the combination of a cheaper soft, Sealy mattress on top of a metal frame, for me, results in an extremely stiff back in the morning. Although I appreciate and welcome the new hotel to the area, I'll have to think twice before booking there again.

We were placed at a room on the first floor by an entry/exit door. There was constant slamming door all night that kept us awake. The Wi-Fi did not work in the room. The bed was hard and uncomfortable. The light bulbs are extremely bright and a bright white at the bedside, with essentially no shade. The room felt overly modern and cold. The snack area a bare at best, not restocked. While the hotel is newer and fairly clean, it lacks anything that would be labeled as comfortable.

The room was great! Very clean and new ! The entire hotel looked very clean and smelled clean. The customer service and staff however is the reason for the low rating. The night staff to check was not friendly at all. In the morning I went to check out and waited 10 minutes atleast. I pressed the bell reice no one came out. Then the staff member came from outside holding a child and told me she is leaving for the day and someone else would come. A maintenance person came to assist me, but didnt speak english and had to use a map.

Our room was clean and beautiful; the hotel is new, so everything was perfect. The price was reasonable for our two-day stay. The breakfast included good, Southern-style spicy sausage links, scrambled eggs, oatmeal, bananas, juice, breads, bagels, hot coffee, and tea. They also have a small convenience store with personal items, snacks, and microwave meals. The rooms come with Dove brand shampoo, conditioner, and body wash. The location is right off the highway, not too far from Wolfchase Mall and restaurants. As a veteran, I would recommend this safe location.

We chose to reserve and pay at property because we wanted to pay for our stay with cash. Front desk staff said the payment was automatic with the card on file and nothing they could do which is not true because we have done this before. There were some dirty finger prints on the wall and door way of the bathroom but the rest of the bathroom was clean. Room was clean and beds are comfortable if you like a firm mattress which we do. The breakfast was sub-par at best. It was more like a Continental breakfast with very few options. I purposely only reserve hotels that have buffet style breakfast because of our kids. This is not an experience we usually have with La Quinta hotels. Most likely would not stay at this location again.

The lady who checked us in at 2am was very nice. Our room was comfortable, but you could hear everyone going in and out of their rooms loudly. The breakfast was absolutely terrible. They had cereal, no milk, coffee that tasted burnt and very bitter, and the waffles had almost a sour taste. (Super weird, as we have never experienced that with waffles. They went into the trash.) While the room is comfortable to sleep in, this was our second time staying at the hotel. We thought maybe the breakfast would change this time, but no. (Although last time, the waffles were good.) For a newer hotel, it is subpar. We won’t be back unfortunately. We believe in giving places second chances, and we’re hoping it would be better this time. Unfortunately, that was not the case.
