What guests think

At Wyndham Executive Center Columbia, reviews describe a convenient location and generally friendly staff, but ongoing renovations and age show through in worn areas, inconsistent cleanliness, and maintenance issues, while thin walls and door slams can affect sleep.

Renovated rooms are reported comfortable with big beds, but other rooms feel dated or humid and some lack bathroom ventilation. Facilities get praise for a large gym and an indoor pool, though the outdoor pool or hours and restaurant options can be limited during construction. Breakfast is paid, and food and bar service range from great to underwhelming. Overall, expect a convenient stay with variable room quality and amenities.

We stayed 1 night on our way from OH to NE. The outdoor pool was amazing especially after driving all day. Was heated, big - went to 9’. The gym was huge, indoor pool looked nice although we didn’t use it. We’d definitely stay here again

They advertised as having an indoor and an outdoor pool. There is no outdoor pool at this time. Only an indoor pool, which was nice. But not what was advertised and we had some disappointed kids and adults. No complaints about the rest of the hotel. Did not use the restaurant for any meal. Staff was friendly and hotel was clean!

The facility was surprisingly welcoming and comfortable...for the most part. Be aware that, at the time of this writing, the hotel's conference center portion and a couple of floors are under construction. Hence, this may be a bit of an inconvenience for some. The breakfast is one that you do have to pay for, but it was delicious and had a good variety of products. There is ample parking and is easy to get to where you need in town. There are some shortcomings with the hotel, though. First, the room that I stayed in had some stains by the entrance of the room. Second, please note the bathtubs are small. Third, the restaurant on site is open a limited amount of time in the evenings and the menu was woefully limited. Finally, there is no business center but perhaps after their renovation, there will be. Overall, the hotel is certainly one that I would stay in again and would encourage anyone that I know to do the same.

Decent stay. Expensive for what it is. Incredibly kind staff but the rooms are a bit run down. It did seem as if they were doing massive renovations as some of the floors were closed to guests and the gym was under construction. Restaurant offers a pretty basic selection but was good food at good prices and accommodating.

I arrived at the hotel around 1:00 AM after more than 14 hours on the road, hoping for a clean and comfortable place to rest. Unfortunately, the room did not meet basic expectations. The carpet was noticeably damp upon entry, which immediately raised concerns about cleanliness and maintenance. The curtain in the room would not close completely, offering no privacy—particularly unsettling at night. There was a strong odor of mold throughout the room, which made the space feel unclean and unpleasant. Additionally, the bedding felt damp, which made it difficult to relax, though I was too exhausted to address it at the time. After such a long day of travel, I was extremely disappointed by the condition of the room. I hope management addresses these issues promptly for the sake of future guests.

The pool was very nice. Hotel was fairly quiet. Located across from a full shopping center. Easy in and out, huge parking lot. The evening desk clerk, Jill, was fabulous, kind, personable, helpful and genuine. Beds clean and comfortable. The negatives, bathroom was dirty upon check in, toilet and tub. Shower didn't drain, water up to ankles, noisy air conditioner. Had to change rooms, second room was smaller although asked for an upgrade due to inconvenience, unfortunately Jill wasn't on duty. It was clean but shabby, a little dusty and baseboards in bathroom were dirty. Hallway smelled bad. TV appeared to be only an advertisement for Holiday Inn, hard to figure out channels. No info in room about anything. All in all about a 3 1/2 rating, Jill was a 5, day clerk not so much. It's fine, not great.

The staff at check-in were wonderful, and everyone was friendly. The gym was amazing, and the hotel is in a great location. However, the property is in dire need of deep cleaning and restoration. The hallway carpet leading to our room was faded and worn, with areas having turned black from heavy foot traffic. The ice machine room was dirty, and all common areas appeared to have not been cleaned in quite some time. We booked a two-room suite, which was spacious, and the bathrooms were in good condition. However, the carpet was filthy, and the furniture was worn and dirty—my socks were stained black from the carpet, and we had to use a sheet to cover the couch stains. While the amenities and location were great, the overall cleanliness and appearance did not justify the $1,000 we spent for the room.

First room we checked into had mites and blood in one of the beds - we were there for a pageant so moving to another room at midnight really put a damper with an 8 year old with us. They made NO accommodations for this inconvenience. When we attempted to talk with the manager about this issue, we were constantly told they were busy due to the pageant (the whole reason we were there). I am also dealing with almost $1000 in charges to my card for the expedia booking that was supposed to be right under $500. I still have not had a call back on these. Staff was ultra nice and the facility was pretty good for the event. It is showing some signs of age, but overall kept in good condition. Some amenities were a little dirtier than others (indoor pool area was kinda bad).

We checked in, got to our room and noticed there was a loud buzzing noise coming from the bathroom. Turned lights on and off, etc and noise wouldn’t stop. Went to front desk and they told us it was so late there wasn’t anyone to fix & only room they had left was a room with broken heater. We took it bc no heat is better than loud buzzing all night. Got to room & there was pee & toilet paper in toilet. Was so late at this point I just flushed it & hoped the rest of the room had actually been cleaned. Not a good experience at all.

The room we received was not the room that I reserved. I reserved a junior suite and we had a regular King room. I know I paid more for the junior suite. The pictures online showed a bigger room for a junior suite and as mentioned we just had a what I consider a normal King room. Otherwise everything was fine, the gentleman at check in was very nice and patient as there was a long line for checking in.

First has started with the problem using their app. Which is why I ended up booking through Hotels.com.. I get their check was fine in our room which I decided to splurge and get a two bedroom suite. The second bedroom, the heat was not working. I ended up telling three total people over the weekend and nothing happened. Then there was another room down the hall that was excessively loud. Woman groaning loudly. they were six rooms away and we could hear them clearly my 10-year-old was asking what was happening to the lady in the room. I was not the only complaint but nothing happened. It was very uncomfortable being able to hear this woman hollering with a 10-year-old continuing with asking me what was going on? Front desk didn’t have much to say about it either except that they had a complaint and they moved somebody that was next-door to them…

The room was clean and the AC was functional, but unfortunately, the humidity was a major issue. There was no exhaust fan in the bathroom, so all the steam from the shower lingered and spread into the room. Even with the AC running, it felt damp and uncomfortable. Improving ventilation would make a big difference in the overall comfort of the stay.

We were pleasantly surprised with our stay. We've stayed here before years ago when it was a Holiday Inn and it was a bit below average, so we didn't know what we would get. We were surprised by how large the standard king room was. The bed was incredibly comfortable. The bathroom was a bit small for the size of the room and the new finishes were a bit cheap. They were still remodeling the first and second floors, but that didn't affect us. Overall this is a solid hotel for the price, as long as you get a renovated room, but I suspect the rest of the rooms will be finished soon.

I called and booked a room here months in advance. I paid a $136 down payment for my room and called the week before my stay to confirm my reservation. When I arrived I was told that my room was still being cleaned, but they would give me a call when the room was ready. When I returned from dinner at 9:00PM I was told that they had lied and they actually had no rooms available for me. The best that they could offer me to make up for this was a food voucher. This is by far the worst customer service experience I have ever had.
