The property has a beautiful lobby but the hotel is an old property. At first che k- in the room 1020 smelled strongly of mildew. I asked to be moved to another room which was 1012. There was a faint smell of mildew so i brought stand alone and spray air freshners. The room was clean. We had to report that the bathroom sink was draining extremely slow so they sent a engineer. No pool at this property. I'm a coffee drinker and prefer coffee outside the room. I never smelled fresh coffee brewing at this hotel.

Getting to and from the parking garage is very inconvenient. You have to take 3 different elevators and walk quite a ways to get to your vehicle. Also they do not valet certain cars because of their value. I would think a more valuable car would be one you would want to valet. Other than that the hotel is great!

Have stayed here a couple of times and enjoyed it once again. Nice property, rooms are clean and spacious, the bathroom is nice and the shower is phenomenal. Lots of nice dining options very close and walkable. Have encountered the same desk clerk at check in twice and he is a gem. Breakfast is very good. Quiet neighborhood that feels safe . Only issu this time was the elevator needed to access the car park was not working; had to carry luggage up a couple flights of stairs

This hotel was close to UofSC which we were visiting and in a great location for bars and restaurants. Hotel and room were very clean. Beds were very comfortable. Service was not great. 4 ppl in my room and they only gave us 2 bath towels. Called for more as we were all taking showers. An hour later still no towels. My husband went out into the hallway and found 2 more towels in a closet. 2 hours later they still never brought the towels. The pool which I wanted for the kids was small and the room was kind of run down and the exercise room was really run down. The treadmill belts actually had giant rips in them which can't be safe so I ran outside instead. The area around the hotel is very nice.

It was a nice stay but the room was somewhat small for my liking. The staff in the restaurant bar were very friendly and personable (Tevin makes a mean old fashioned cocktail!☺️) Also of note, the elevator was inoperable to access the main lobby from the parking garage. I wondered about any handicapped individuals having difficulties traversing about. Overall I would continue staying here in the future.

It's a Marriott so the bedding and shower were excellent. However, the hotel advertised an indoor pool that was not operational. That was false advertising. Also, the choice for parking was either $19/night for self park in the parking garage next to the hotel or $50 for valet parking. The staff were friendly, there was daily maid service and the accommodations otherwise were fine.

It's an older building. Rooms are updated. The pool was too cold for my girls to enjoy but I do like the pool room. The hot tub was out of commission which was disappointing. I would say this is a great hotel for adults but not for families with little kids. The beds were very comfortable, I liked the pillows. Lots of drippy glass though. We had a great view from the 6th floor. I personally enjoyed it, my kids did not :)

Checked in at the lobby was given a key to a dirty room that had been used. The front desk did apologize about the inconvenience. Gave me a new room, and the sink was clogged, tub wasn’t properly cleaned. The rear of the establishment seemed to be pretty clean and neat from what I could visibly see.

The night receptionist was not the most cooperative person. Whenever I come to Columbia I stay here. Never have I met a receptionist like this young lady. The room was not as cleaned as I’ve seen them in my prior visits. You may need to check on your staff and their work ethic.

Had to take a cold shower when I arrived and then had the same problem the next morning. Waited for the shower to get hot but made me late for my meeting as they were kind enough to move me to another room just to take a shower. Staff was very nice so hate leaving a negative review.

The Marriott was great for Parents Weekend. Room was spacious enough for 4 people. Pool and gym looked nice (didn’t use either!) Not as close as some of the other hotels to campus but Uber/lyfts were easy to access.

Stayed there 4 nights for parents weekend and it was a mixed bag. The walls were very thin, you could hear the floor above you using the restroom. Also my bed was on the hallway wall so it was extremely loud and I didn't get any sleep. Icing on the cake was the elevators broke during Sunday checkout time so a large group of us took the stairs with our luggage and the doors were all locked and we were stuck in the stairwell. The stairwell is the fire exit so let's hope there's never a fire in the building.

My visit was Excellent 👍 Everyone was so helpful. Rachel, was so nice, she told us about the restaurant to visit. And we enjoyed the food at Halls was excellent. There was several other people, that was helpful didn't get there names. Alexis, she was not just pretty she had a beautiful smile. She checked me in for my reservation. Enjoyed!! Everything No problems, will visit again soon.

The reason I’m giving such a crappy rating is because the hotel knew that the Carolina Clemson game would be a busy day. They didn’t have any rooms available to check in at 3pm that it shows online. My room finally became available (after cleaning) at around 7pm which was 30 minutes after the game had started and 4 hours after the normal check in time! Their utter failure to pre plan for this weekend was ridiculous and the funny thing is that this happens every other year so they know it’s a big deal in Columbia.

Beautiful facility. Great location. The bar was great service was wonderful the choices late night after 10:00 p.m. work perfect. We enjoyed our breakfast the next day we did till adult breakfast prices are a little pricey but the service and food were great. Modest holiday decorations that were beautiful. We will definitely stay again.

I couldn’t believe the price for breakfast. It was a Buffet. I poured a small glass of orange juice for myself and my son it was charged seven dollars per glass and was told refills would be another seven dollars. I paid over $80 for breakfast of two and that was not hot and not well-made
