What guests think

At Wyndham Midland Downtown, guests frequently praise the central location and friendly staff, but note aging facilities and inconsistent upkeep, with reports of limited amenities and periodic maintenance problems that affect comfort and convenience.

Rooms are spacious with comfortable beds and some nice views, but many lack a fridge or microwave, and dated fixtures, noisy HVAC, or weak Wi-Fi can affect comfort. Cleanliness feedback ranges from very clean stays to serious issues such as stained linens, musty odors, and occasional plumbing problems including brown water and slow drains. Facilities draw complaints about broken elevators, out-of-order ice machines, and poorly maintained pools, while on-site dining and breakfast are frequently closed, understaffed, or limited in hours. Expect a value-focused stay with variable quality depending on room and timing.

The front desk staff was sweet. I liked we could park underground and it took it right to the room. We got a great deal and for the most part it was a good value. The hotel looks like it could use some updating. It seems like the last update didn’t get completed. But it is overdue for some painting touchups and a deep cleaning.

The hotel itself is an old building, which was fine. It has underground parking, which is nice and convenient. The first night the toilet ran all night, needing repairs but maintenance came within the hour and fixed it. Beds are very comfortable 👌

I was looking forward to sitting by the pool and relaxing, but there were no cushions available for the 2 hot metal lounge chairs. No pool towels available either. The pool water was clean but the pool was chipping and cracking. The room was clean and bed/pillows were comfy. There is not a microwave or fridge available in the room. The ice machine was out of order on 3 floors but finally located one on the pool level. No complimentary breakfast but coffee was available to go. The bathroom was small and the door was in the way of the toilet. Very awkward. Overall Ok stay but will not be back.

We stayed 3 nights. The AC was faulty in the room and throughout the hotel. The restaurant was understaffed for breakfast and dinner. We asked for extra towels at the front desk and was told only housekeeping had access to them and towels were never brought to the room. Also, the pool had broken, unsafe objects in the pool. It looked like the pool structure was deteriorating or a fixture haf broken off. The area is great, but limited parking.

My room had no hot water. When I called they said they’d send maintenance but no one showed up. The pool was a yellow green with no working filter and when we got in you could feel sliminess on your arms and legs the whole time while in the pool. There is no microwave or refrigerator in the rooms.

Almost everything was great about this hotel except for three things, One: The bed was comfortable BUT, the duvet was old and had old, dry blood on it. That duvet should be thrown out. Two: the tub has a slow drain. So when you shower it starts to fill. So you’re standing in dirty water. Three: Hotel also has covered parking but, don’t like that you have to go into the alley to go into the back part of the hotel.

This is my 2nd time here. I decided to give it another try even though I had a bad experience the first time. This time around I got a jr suite. The suite is very spacious but, outdated. The curtains are old and dirty looking. The wallpaper is peeling off in some areas. The furniture is dirty looking. I didn’t notice it until I sat down. The duvet is covered by 2 flat sheets and is also very dingy looking. The pillows had stains on them. I saw the stains bc I took the sheets off the bed and pillows to help out housekeeping. The marble looking floor is VERY dirty but, you won’t know it unless you are wearing white socks. I felt the floor sticky near the bathroom so I wiped it with a wet wipe and that sucker was BLACK! Also, when you enter the suite, you are greeted with a musty smell of corn chips. I also couldn’t get a working channel on the tv to watch. I finally found one and had no choice but to watch whatever they were showing. The hotel is located in downtown right across from Centennial Park. There's also restaurants close by if you get hungry.

Well, an hour after I checked in next thing, I know my room door opens, and some guy walking in they double booked the same room and then after going out for dinner and drinks, I come back and my room keys don’t work so when I go back down, she says I don’t even have a room at that hotel that I don’t know what I’m talking about after arguing for 30 minutes, I finally get into my room. I booked the room for two nights that way I could sleep all day before returning to work that night. Next thing you know the cleaning lady come barged in. Tell me I need to get my stuff and get out because it’s checkout time and not two hours after that when I get laid back down, some guy barges up in the room with a clipboard in the pin so apparently anybody can just get in these rooms whenever they want to. It was the worst experience I’ve had in Midland Odessa ever

this hotel is in a key location next-door to the convention center. But it’s gotta be the only hotel left in America that still uses fluorescent lighting in the rooms. staff also is what one might call disinterested? I did not get any maid service and I didn’t even get an apology for that. The bartender was sort of bored serving. The only bright spot was the lady behind the Starbucks counter in the morning. This hotel needs a serious update not just in physical convenience to guests,( especially the mattress), but in a refresh of its staff to have some enthusiasm for working at it.

This is the worst hotel experience I have had in a long time. But let me start by saying that the bedding the linens were very nice. Everything else was terrible. The room didn’t have a microwave, fridge, wifi, and everything was covered in dust. The housekeeper didn’t wipe down the furniture and there was sticky stuff on the nightstand from the last guest in that room. The venue was across the street from a city park who was having a loud concert. Not the hotel’s fault, so I asked to move my room to the back side of the building so it wouldn’t be so loud for us while we’re here for work. We moved our belongings into the room in the morning, but when we got back in the afternoon our lock on our door was broken and we had to sit in the hallway on the floor for 30 minutes while we waited for their repair guy to let us into our room. The front desk offered us a free breakfast in the restaurant downstairs to compensate for the inconvenience, but even then when we went down there this morning they had one waitress running the whole Sunday brunch by herself. The free breakfast was horrific. We finally just got up and walked out after serving ourselves coffee and waiting over an hour for eggs because we had work to do. We still left the waitress a few dollars as a tip because it looked like she was overworked and understaffed. So we wound up paying money for a nonexistent free breakfast that should have been complimentary to begin with. We were really excited to stay here at first.

The 21 and up bar on site is great, they have a delicious coffee bar, and spacious work area with secured WiFi. The staff was very courteous and welcoming. I even forgot my keys upon leaving and the housekeeper ran after me to make sure I didn't leave without them. The only drawback is my television was pretty inconsistent.
